Speaking of 7000 B/P, last night I crossed 27,000 of them. Less than 3,000 remaining to Supreme Commander.

Deploy the... it's a yellow button... it's usually flashing... it makes the engines go... whoosh!

The sound quality isn't that great, but I guess this is because the camera doesn't have such a good microphone. But as far as I can tell, the guitar playing is excellent. I love the look on his face at the end of the video. "Oh, what just happened?" :)

Well, she did just meet me and give me the number. It does happen.

But not too often. And I still don't know why Mrs. Rae wants to be called "Maybe".

Then get another account and check this one periodically.

I had 7 mail accounts at one time, but I had to abandon one, because it was flooded with spam-mails. I don't even know why that happened. Maybe I should try creating that account again to see if it's still on the spammers radar.
A good spam filter is always a bonus.

Yeah, I blocked many adresses and keywords, but it didn't help. My other e-mail-adresses recieve the occasional spam every now and then, but nothing that I can't handle. Maybe it did pay off that I use services like guerillamail.org when I sign up for websites that I don't trust too much or that I just know I won't use too often.

That's plenty to see, though.
One of my colleagues showed me some "turkish Gangnam Style" a few days ago. So, that's two videos I've seen a few seconds of.
Since my recent experiences of the Turks is in Assassin's Creed Revelations, I've now got the Constantinople Assassin's Guild dancing to Gangnam Style in my head. Weird.
I just got reminded of "Dschingis Kahn", some german Disco-Combo...
Gangman Style, Disco Version.
Saw the guys from F1 dance it yesterday. Now I think there is little hope for the world.

I heard the song today on some internet stream. "Top 40" or whatever it was called. If my colleagues turn on the same stream tomorrow, I'll ask them if they can change it. I can tolerate different tastes in music, but not for 8 hours straight...

That really sucks.

I'd love to see fresh faces here. Hell, if I didn't then what would have been the point of handling the Wi/Ht? Regulars and Members lists for 2008-2010? I have love for this place and I'd hate to see it die out completely. Of course, we all have to move on from things so this is something I may have to let go if activity continues to drop.
Activity has been very low for quite some time now. I sure hope that it does pick up again. Because if it doesn't... well, then this place IS going to die out sooner or later. :/
Same can be said for the BBS as a whole.

I agree. It's taken me 3 years to get to 60,000. Some people obviously get points faster than I do, but regardless.. I'm near the top 100 in total medal points and if you only congratulated every 10k medal points then I would have only posted here 6 times.. In the same times I've posted here around 22 times for B/P rank upgrades, 33 times every 1k saves, 5 times every 1k blams, and around 11 times every 1k EXP.

Not many people get 10k medal points very quickly, and for the most part the ones that do don't even post here.

Well, you could always switch to console gaming. All of the Half-Life games, even the first, have come out on consoles.

One bullshit to another is what's keeping me away from Steam games. I did buy two games from GOG the other day and although I had problems running Duke Nukem 3D, all it took was to run it on admin mode and it worked like a charm. However, controls are a different story as I have a hard time adapting to arrow keys for movement.

GOG is amazing. It'll probably never be as popular as steam is though, unfortunately. They actually make old games compatible with newer operating systems.

I'm a bit supportive of Origin because of stuff like this.. Since Origin came along Steam has released a lot of new features. (e.g. Big picture and the community redesign) Hopefully they'll eventually get to the point where they make sure games work on a wide variety of computers.
I wouldn't have much hope in them at this point. I don't even want to know what Origin can do to me if I have problems with Steam.

Origin is alright. The Origin client feels a lot smoother than Steams, but I'm not sure if they release buggy games or not. I've only gotten one game on Origin, and I only have it because they gave anybody that used a promotional code $20 to buy any game they want.

It sucks for me to do it right now but I've had enough grief from them. I only wish someone could do a deal with me so that they take my account and I'll get something in return. It would be bad to let this account rot away when someone else would have a lot more use with it.

I don't go there often so I'm not sure how people would respond.. but you could try /v/. You could probably find somebody willing to buy it there.

I only speak to a maximum of two people right now. For Coop, I may just PM him from now on but my friend who uses Steam a lot, half the time he doesn't even respond to my messages so I wonder if there's any point in even using Steam for IM now. There's still Facebook for him to use the chat feature to talk to me.

I speak to 20+ people on Steam on a regular basis.. Only about 4 of which I have added on something else. I'd have to stop talking to a lot of people if I stopped using steam.

I honestly want to slap the face of whoever thought of the idea of GFWL. This really is the bane of PC gaming and if shit like this continues, then I can see PC gaming dying out fast.

Microsoft makes so much money off each Xbox game sale and from Xbox live subscriptions.. I think Microsoft gets a cut of every GFWL game sold, but none from non-GFWL games. They just want more money.

There could be reasons why it is broken, but I haven't looked. I will continue to use Steam though because I simply love it.

Ever game you buy on consoles will be at least somewhat playable. That's a guarantee. (Unless it gets scratched up or something, of course)

There are some games that are buggy as hell, but you'll always be able to at least play some of them. PC gaming unfortunately has some flaws, like that games some times might not work at all.

Blams 664
Saves 9,016

That's 13.65 Saves (approximately) for every 1 Blam. Surely you can do better than that?

I'm clean from having an Xbox Live subscription. :P My problem with their online services is the monthly fee which I feel I won't ever be committed to make the money justified.

The monthly fee is awful. It cost $60 per year and the dashboard is absolutely full of ads? I don't know how they get away with that when PSN is is free, besides the optional PSN+.

Ever game you buy on consoles will be at least somewhat playable. That's a guarantee. (Unless it gets scratched up or something, of course)
Or it's Silent Hill HD...

What was wrong with it? I've actually never even played a Silent Hill game.

That's good but you should try hitting the '0' and '1' buttons a little more frequently. Your Save to Blam ratio is appalling.

Blams 664
Saves 9,016

That's 13.65 Saves (approximately) for every 1 Blam. Surely you can do better than that?

If he started B/Ping recently then it isn't that bad. I mean as of recently I've been regularly getting between a 1:20 to a 1:40 Save to blam ratio.. A lot of days I don't even get a single blam. If this continues, a year from now a 1:20 save to blam ratio will be considered okay for a new user.

I actually have one game that is almost completely unplayable without a patch, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines.
It's really buggy without the patch, and even with it you can't use the Steam community features.. so you can't talk to friends while you're playing it. I've never gotten into the game because of that.

Oh right. Almost every other language gets rid of distinguishing between a married and an unmarried woman, but in the english language, it still maters. :P

I thought the French still had Madame / Madamoiselle and Spanish Senora / Senorita? Doesn't that count for about half of the language in the world? Maybe a third, considering Mandarin and Hindi.

Why is a man always called "Mr.", but for a woman it matters wether she's married or not?

Because it's a contraction of Mister for a man over the age of either 21 or 18, as is more common these days, with "Master" being the prefix until then.

Despite what I've learned about the English Language since, where a Master is higher up the food chain, professionally speaking, than a mere Mister.

So we call her Carly Rae Maybe, now?
She says "Call me 'Maybe'" not "Call me 'Carly Rae Maybe'".

Ah, right.

So if Maybe wants to change her name, she has to release a single called "(No, fuckwit) I really want you to call me Carly Rae Jephsen"?

6?! Wow, I survive with three.

So should I get The Orange Box on PS3 and play TF2 on that? :P Yeah, horrifying thought but this is where the 360 has an advantage for me if I had one.
If you like completely vanilla TF2 and you get that thing that lets you play console games with a mouse and keyboard it might not be to bad.

What was wrong with it? I've actually never even played a Silent Hill game.

The Silent Hill games themselves (well, the first three anyway) are masterpieces but the HD remaster was a joke. If the purpose of HD remasters is to play the game in better frame rate, graphics, etc but it failed at doing both of these, what am I really getting from them? I'm good enough with firing up my PS2 for SH2 and 3.

It's definitely the best for buying old games because they make it so they work better for newer operating systems. I'll probably buy any older games from GOG from now on.

Yeah, I still appreciate GOG for getting me able to play Duke Nukem 3D. Hell, I'll start praising them if they get Grim Fandango, Full Throttle and any other LucasArts games from the 90s on there.

Yeah, it does. As far as I know Vampires has always been a pretty buggy game.. It was probably only released as it is because of the fact that it was made on the source engine. Valve seems to give source games special treatment. Even if they're awful. (Revelations 2012)

That might explain it, especially with bigger files coming through these days.

Level 51!

I like the Halloween icon much better than the normal level 51 icon to be honest. Now it looks like a golden shaman staff or an awesome walking cane for a very wealthy gentleman.

Listening to:

Kenji Yamamoto - Metroid Prime Soundtrack. The game is awesome so why not listen to the soundtrack?

With the amount of money Valve makes I don't see why they don't put more money into things like play testing. They only have around 240 employees. I think a company that makes as much money as them can afford to hire a few more people.

Hell, they can afford to make TF2 free but then again, that's only because of the hats.

True, I've even seen a few free games in my GOG library. Hard to complain as free games are still free but expect them to collect dust.
Treasure Adventure Game is fun for about an hour or so. They other free games don't really seem appealing to me.

And that's the major downfall to free games. Most of them won't be that good.

2005 was really NG's peak of popularity. Each day had at least 200 submissions and a Clock Day would have to be lucky to even get that much nowadays.
From what I've seen from forum post from 2005-2006, the BBS looked a lot more fun.

Yeah, at times I really do miss those days. Can you believe I was making 30-60 posts per day back then? It takes me a week just to make that much now. I guess back then threads were far more appealing to me.

One problem: I have no 360.
You can do it on PS3 too. Either way you do it you have to buy third party hardware, unfortunately.

That will have to be some other time. I'll see when my budget becomes more stable but right now is not the case.

Define "didn't work". Is that either a game-breaking bug or something that while unstable can still be played?
I'd say anything that's so buggy that it's nearly unplayable. I guess something like big rigs could be considered not working.

Then for consoles, it does happen. I've not forgiven Tomb Raider's broken games that had fatal glitches.

This is why a 360 is so tempting. I would happily go back to vanilla TF2. Hell, Valve should actually offer that option to provide vanilla mode for the game.
Is the PS3 version bad, or do you just mean so you can use a mouse and keyboard? Don't get your hopes up about it. It's fun to play the vanilla version of TF2 but the console version, in my experience, has very few people online and most people aren't very good.

I've heard many bad things about TF2 on PS3, particularly with exploits.

Maybe I've not seen Xbox Live in full action but I feel a subscription for extras like PSN is doing is more reasonable. Hell, I don't even recall any ads on PSN so yeah, what is Microsoft's reason? I would have accepted ads on PSN seeing as the online services are free for me.
The only reason I can think of, other than them doing it just for the money, is that it might discourage people from cheating.

That's the only good thing that seems to come from the subscription pay. Even so, ads on top of it as well? They sure know what they can get away with.

I didn't realize there were rumors about me having an alternate "main" account.
Sorry, I'm scan reading in the mornings and seeing Too and 100 on your account name, I've gravitated to Bahamut's alt, Toohot100, which is a parody of yours. Do I feel like a twat now :P

Hahahaha. That alt will always be the best.

Beast has some songs in there that are too weak - The Assassin, for example. Powerslave is iconic and I think that Dance of Death and Final Frontier run the self-titled and Powerslave close, in my eyes.

Wait what? The Assassin is in No Prayer for the Dying.

The Mirror, you say? You can expect me to be disgusted right away.
Why? Don't tell me that you're one of these Daily Mail types...

I HATE THEM ALL!

I actually wouldn't mind giving one of my alts supporter.
Dropping the ball, but giving Bahamut an idea...

Now that's a bribing plan. :P "Front page dragon porn and I'll give all my alts supporter."

Nope, no trouble for me. Running smooth as silk as always.

Phew that's pretty high. I guess I'm just a touch harsher than you when I vote. I get somewhere around 1:10 to 1:15 P/B a day (which is disgusting, I was once 2:1 B/P not P/B) but there are the good days when you might get 5 to 8 blams and then you get 0 and 1 for the next 2 days. It's just so up and down. Very unpredictable.

But everyone that votes and especially heavy voters should be able to get at least 1 to 4 blams a day, you just need to be tougher on shitty submissions.

More people need to be educated on spotting shovelware and stolen games and Voting '0' on them. If the Portal Mods had the ability to see a submissions score and see if it was going to pass judgement, they could delete it, but if they could see it was not passing judgement because people were actually voting sensibly with '0' or '1' they could leave it be and then we don't miss out on our blam points.

You can only hope people grow up, smarten up and get with the program.

Halfway through the season and there's hardly anything to complain about. I'd say this is the best since VI but it could top that.

I have very little on vinyl. Infact, I've only got the one album on vinyl and it just so happened to have an artwork that mixes necrophilia and zoophilia... I only wanted it for the music. As for Iron Maiden, I have all their studio albums and the majority of live albums. I feel they've done too many live albums so I've only kept to the remasters and Rock in Rio. It's very rare I'd actually listen to live albums anyway. It just doesn't beat the real experience.
