I know It's been a while since I posted here but, Hey! I loved the new website's design and the look of the BBS! Usually sites that do several changes aren't that great or just completely awful, but Newgrounds' new look is very cool.

God I realllly hate the new levels. it's almost enough to make me start thinking about not bothering coming back every day to do this exp depositing thing....

Ailen Hominid Weapon? Ah well, it's better than the stupid golden glove I had before. One thing I really don't like is that the level icons are now so small and underneath our profile picture. That's two pictures for each user. While it may be easier to identify users now, it wasn't that hard in the first place. Just take a look at the username and you are good to go.

I come back after a period of inactivity...and I can barely navigate the website, the level icons are ridiculous, and somehow it feels like they've been demoted to a tiny and less meaningful spot.

My thoughts exactly. I don't know what happend to the b/p voting power multiper if its gone then there will be a legion of pissed off statboys. I am very misinformed about the redesign, but it does look pretty like my old timey pistol. I might quit depositing to keep it.

It did look familiar, but it mostly reminded me of the monster book in Harry Potter.

I'm not so into the horror genre, so that's mostly why I haven't seen that film.

After some initial concerns, I am really liking the redesign. Everything looks very slick and it's obvious what a huge amount of work has gone into it. I was a big fan of the previous layout and wasn't convinced about the need for the redesign, but I think it's proved to be a good decision.

I wasn't entirely sure about some of the level icons at first, but on reflection I think most of them look pretty awesome (I'm looking forward to getting a fire axe at my next level up!). It's a shame that they've lost some of their size and prominence now, particularly given how good they look, but that's a small quibble.

There are some things which appear to be missing at the moment (experience points deposit notification, overall voting power, total score for each game), but fingers crossed those are things which are being tweaked in the weeks to come. Overall, I think it's looking good.

Well it looks as though Bell has been dropped for the one-dayers though who knows if they'll stick with that decision for the next tests as well. I'm really not a fan of the Wii so to be honest, I probably would say that it's only worth about £30... but yeah, the cost of their controllers in particular is daylight robbery. Particularly since they stand a higher chance of breaking than other controllers given the risk of them flying out of your hand and smashing into things!

The agnrystaff is pretty cool but the Banhammer one is better. Although having someone have it who is not a mod would be weird and possibly confusing. The only one I like is the Necronomicon one; nice reference there.

Never seen the Naruto manga. Seen like 1 ep of the anime. Didn't interest me. My wife has read maybe 10 or so manga, and I've read maybe some of 2 or 3 of them, can't recall any titles.

Akira? Didn't know it was a manga first, but many anime series and OAVs are. Anyway, Akira (the movie) and Ghost in the Shell (which is very Blade Runner-ish) were the big anime movies to see around the time I was off to college in 1995. I've seen dozens of series and dozens more since those two (and I'd seen some anime when I lived in Japan from 88 to 91, but mostly kiddy series that didn't interest me ;_;), and Akira is nowhere near the best. Ghost in the Shell, OTOH, is great. As is the TV series a few later.

Here's some recommended anime my wife and I have enjoyed over the past 15 years or so in case you ever change your mind and give some GOOD anime a try. :D

IMO, exp depositing is its own reward... not the level destinations along the way. With the exception of a few awesome levels in the 30 system and 60 system, most of the levels just weren't that hot anyway. But the exp numbers? The exp numbers always increase (if you dedicate yourself to 'em), and numbers are always nicer than silly ol' avvies, anyway. :)

That said, I am sad that gfox (who I retired on level 42 years ago) no longer has that super-awesome sword as his icon. ;_;

It's wider as well, so we get more space to talk at one another :P

Overall, I think it's good, though some of the auras could be better (there is no writer, for example) and identifying one user as a moderator seems more of a crap shoot.

Oh and there's no whistle option on Under Judgement submissions, which I think is a massive omission.

The agnrystaff is pretty cool but the Banhammer one is better. Although having someone have it who is not a mod would be weird and possibly confusing. The only one I like is the Necronomicon one; nice reference there.

Never seen the Naruto manga. Seen like 1 ep of the anime. Didn't interest me. My wife has read maybe 10 or so manga, and I've read maybe some of 2 or 3 of them, can't recall any titles.

I've read three books in the past half year as well after years of maybe reading 1 or 2 books a year. My wife reads like 10 books a year (minimum) while still keeping up with TV and movies. She's a wizard, Harry!

I've done 2 books so far this year and I'm working my way through Snuff, by Terry Pratchett now. As for calling me Harry, some friends of mine think that I bear more than a passing resemblance to Harry Dresden...

I haven't really decided yet. Perhaps I should first wait until byteslinger comes up with a new program. If it can pull the stats seperately I could perhaps make two lists. Though in that case I'm leaning more towards keeping one total reviews list and adding two colums. One with movie reviews and one with game reviews.
