Well, a couple of times, I changed my name for one reason or another. C0GMA and a series of numbers, reflecting the number at which I joined Newgrounds. I can't remember it, yet it was almost palindromic.

^ I love that line. That's possibly the single most disgusting line from Futurama ever. Even beating the ones about Mom and Farnsworth getting it on.Nah, I still think those are worst and haunting.
So old people having it off is more disturbing than a hobo licking a turd off the bottom of an old boot? Interesting.
Now to go and see what incriminating evidence I found last night at the meet...

Sort of... if you call demonstrating a 'fight'. I suppose it is figuratively speaking, but it doesn't always have to get messy :p

Yeah. Still, I think there are easier things to carry around when you're in a hurry. Like a sandwich or a burger.Well there were sandwich shops and this was a time before hamburgers really took off. It wasn't until early 1900s that someone thought of putting a hamburger steak on bread.
Which was a very good idea ^^ I wonder if that's also when more people started putting different kinds of meat on bread.
So just make sure you also open a factory in Mexico and you'll be a corporation ;)And have it shot up but roving Mexican drug cartels. I think not.
Well if you can't beat them, join them. I'm sure those kids will be useful to run some drug errands for them and you can probably get 10%.

While being a drug lord has profit potential, the hazard pay is too low for me. Although they do have a good health care which can come in handy.

The latter is more street language-y. The former more some odd translation that would appear in subtitles in films :pOh yeah, those translations can be quite odd. Marty McFly always used the word "stark" in Back to the Future. I think in the original movie he says "cool". But that expression wasn't that well known in Germany back in the 80s...
Aren't you annoyed sometimes with how everything is dubbed in Germany?
Sometimes. Because translations can be quite bad. But on other occasions the translation (and the work by the dubbing actors) is quite good. Knight Rider for example. It's a pretty good dub.
Personally I hate Dutch dubs and avoid them like the plague, because the voices are usually awful and the lines sound dumb.
Well, that may be the case because dutch is a dumb sounding language. :P
Seriously though. I think it's pretty hard to dub dutch with good lip synching. And maybe the quality of the people dubbing it isn't so good like in germany, but I've never witnessed the work of the dutch dubbing scene. ^^
Personally I prefer dubbing over subtitleing. Just imagine watching a very intense moment in a movie and reading the text all the time to follow the conversation...
Also dubbing sure helps to understand a movie. I was watching "No country for old men" a few weeks ago in english. The heavy texan accent Tommy Lee and some of the other actors had was very hard to understand at times.
Sure. Along with The Shining and Jaws :pThis movie should be shown in elementary school. We can no longer be friends? At 7/20/11 11:28 AM, Haggard wrote: At 7/19/11 04:42 PM, Auz wrote:

Well Spongebob is quite a good dub here. In fact, I find it better than the original, English dub. I don't know about Phineas & Ferb, but the Dutch dub is fine for that show.
Personally I hate Dutch dubs and avoid them like the plague, because the voices are usually awful and the lines sound dumb.Well, that may be the case because dutch is a dumb sounding language. :P

There aren't many decent dutch voice-actors around so you will often recognize the voices from other dubbed films and cartoon shows which is silly.
Personally I prefer dubbing over subtitleing. Just imagine watching a very intense moment in a movie and reading the text all the time to follow the conversation...
That's probably the most common complaint against subtitleing, but trust me, you will get used to it. And you CAN ignore it if you want. You don't have to look at it.
But I personally find it more relaxing to watch a film that way too. I won't have to listen so hard and don't have to be afraid that I miss important parts of the dialogues.
Also dubbing sure helps to understand a movie. I was watching "No country for old men" a few weeks ago in english. The heavy texan accent Tommy Lee and some of the other actors had was very hard to understand at times.
You will get used to that too :p
Besides, if it's subtitled then their accents don't really matter.

I was comparing it to the WWI phrase of "going over the top", which meant climbing from the trenches and getting gunned down by the Germans, while advancing on their position.

I wish people would converse more instead of just making list after list after list after list...
...after list after list after list.
The way I see it there's really no need to be making lists at all if you're not getting involved with the community. It's getting to the point where it seems like +1ing but with a little more effort put in. If you like this thread enough to post lists every day, then you should like the users who post here enough to converse with them... amirite?
