I keep completely losing track of time - by days. I didn't even realize it had been 3 days since my last post on the BBS. I got back into Minecraft recently and I got the Humble Indie Bundle and Gmod. I can't play Gmod though because I didn't realize my free version of Portal didn't come with the Source SDK >:(

Creedence Clearwater Revival - I Put A Spell On You
Oh man, can somebody just kill the fuckers in the apartment above me? Yesterday (or more like, today) they started turning their fucking music up at around 0:20. By 4 am I got really pissed (by that time it sounded as if they where tearing down the whole building) and went up. At first some drunken guy came to the door, I asked if he could turn the music down and he responded with something like: "It's holiday tomorrow, nobody has to work, so what do you want?" (wtf? How does he think the public transportation system works on holidays? And what about the hospitals? Damn...) luckily some not drunken guy came to the door next. Me and my gf had a small conversation with him, saying that the music has been pretty loud for a couple of months now and if they can't just turn the music off now?
Well, the music has been quieter after that, but they didn't turn it off until 5 am.
And now I'm back (at around 20:00) and guess what? Yep, they're listening to loud music again.
Funny thing is: A few days ago I placed a box of our stereo right underneath the ceiling and turned it up. Okay, it has been very loud, but after about 5 minutes they knocked on the floor, trying to tell me that way to turn the music down...
Hopefully we can move out here in a few months, or else I go mad in here...
If they turn the music up again like this morning, I have to call the police. It's just not bearable any longer. :/

If I ask for the date, I'm more interested in the day, as I usually know which month we have. :PIt's useful for example, when you are making appointment or something months away; you want to know which month it's going to be in first before the date. Going from broad to narrow, but not so broad that it's useless.
yyyy-mm-dd would be the best format, at least for sorting purposes.
Anyway, dd-mm-yyyy is much more logical. ~30 days is one month, 12 months is one year. So the date format is orderd from "low" to "high", so to speak. ;)
Hm. I never had that much trouble to get a grasp of how far an appointment is away with the dd-mm format. ;)
Another example is that if you were to ask when my birthday is saying July before the date helps your mind to get a general idea first before stating the precise date, 28th.
Again, if it is for example 12.03. (dd.mm.) and I say: My birthday is on 13.08. (again dd.mm.) nobody should have any problems to get that it's over 5 months away. ;)
Not much to present the LUL except maybe i entered the TOP 50 B/P's for the billionth time lol. but anyways

Sounds like you did all you could man. If you went up and politely asked him to turn down the music (at an unreasonable hour at that) and he refused, that's all you can do. If he's not going to be reasonable then at that point I'd say calling the police would be the best option.
I mean yeah, he might think you're a douchebag for it, but it's like...you already asked him.
I had some neighbors call the police on me for listen to music at NOON and they didn't even ask me, they just called the police...so I think you were more than reasonable with the guy. Just my 2 cents..

I did that to some horrible neighbours of mine, back in the day. X Files at volume 50, so they could hear it properly when the TV was less than 10 feet from them in bed together. I treated them to the finest selection of Hard Rock that Alice Cooper's Brutal Planet had to offer me.
My advice is Slayer's Raining Blood - The Hard Rain section should penetrate their floor quite nicely, at a relatively low volume.
