I don't recall hating Daft Punk. I may have put them aside due to not being fond of the genre at one point but it wasn't like "FUCK DAFT PUNK, THEY SUCK!" I will keep the album in mind but don't expect me to get it right away. I have over 600 albums on my to get list so whenever I get to Daft Punk depends on my mood. I'm sure I'm more likely to get that album than the majority of the stuff I have listed on my CDs spreadsheet, though.

It's difficult when 3 guys make up the Steve Harris quotient. Even though Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor were integral parts of Queen, everyone thinks of Freddie (like some uneducated people think of Bruce for Maiden, I might add!) Since Freddie Mercury died, John Deacon has retired, rather making Brian May the face of Queen by default. Had Freddie still been with us, he would have been the face of the band. With three people "fighting" over who is the face of the band, it's difficult to work it out.

I have to agree with you in some way. It's pretty rare finding users of your age who post in the wi/ht in these days, and specially who also posts in the LUL besides in the rest of the forum itself.

I miss the old days when this thread was very active and the daily congrats lists were even longer than the ones. Now if you want to create a long list you have to wait at least 2 days, like the lists you do.

Yes, Zivildienst or "Civilian Service" or "compulsory paid community service". We still have compulsory military service in Germany, the only way I could avoid the military was the Zivildienst.

I guess that would make the listening and speaking easier, but the grammar might still be way more difficult. I was under the impression that the German grammar was more complicated than the French one, but I've only had to bother with them for 2-3 years or so.

I'm not really an expert when it comes to grammar. I suck at grammar in every language (I think I mentioned it before), but yeah, since german is my native language I don't have to bother learning the grammar rules. I just know them. ^^

I still make many mistakes in the Dutch grammar, but we all do. Most common mistake is probably verbs that end with a 'd', 't' or 'dt' in the you and he/she/it form. People often do them wrong and I'm personally in favor of writing everything the same way cause grammar nazi's keep complaining to people when they do it wrong.

I took Greek and Latin Etymologies classes in High school and I'm quite familiarized with those languages too. I'm going to need Greek a lot because all the diseases names come from Greek. However I won't need Latin since it's used more for careers like Laws and psychology.

Yeah my gf often says: Oh that part comes from that latin or greek word, so it probably has something to do with this (which is true in 9 out of 10 cases).

I took Latin myself as well at some point, but I sucked at it and dropped the courses. I don't think it was that useful for me anyway.
