I can do the simplest things and set it off. I sat in an armchair and bumped it, for example.
You might want to have that at least looked at because I'd never get used to something like that. Does the numbness last for a while?
A few minutes, but what would they tell me? That they want to operate, when I don't like the idea of surgery at all.

While it probably would be annoying to have a doctor pestering you to have surgery, it might be beneficial to know what exactly you have.

Well what kinda hat are talking about here that's so nice to look at?
It's a black fedora, with white pinstripes.
Yes, that's definitely worth looking at. The fedora needs to make a comeback since to me, there is no simpler yet more effective way to look important and classy.
I must go and buy a black pinstripe suit now, to match. Then I'll look the dogs bollocks.
Is that a good thing? That's not something I'd want to look anything like. Anyway yes, definitely get a corresponding suit. Then post a picture of the entire ensemble.
Damn, I don't have the hat with me today. I'm working in the suit. >:(

It'll be so awesome, I can feel it. You should count the number of comments you get from co-workers.

Oh and looking the dog's bollocks is a great thing.

Okay, just making sure. Apparently I'm not very familiar with foreign slang.

And I also realized getting 10k medals would be a damn fucking pain in the as. Only consolation is that the worst stat to 10k will always be exp :P

The habit of forgetting to post in the LUL. You've done it a few times now and the first thing I always do on the BBS is posting here. Well, I might post elsewhere beforehand but most of the time, my start for the BBS for the day is right here!

It's not a bad habit - I still post my daily list.

Slow is right to describe the album but regardless of speed, it's good.
Still, Starblind is a perfect tune for EVE Online
Starblind, eh? Sounds like an appropriate song for Starcraft... Even though I've never played it before.

EVE is much better - Starcraft doesn't get lost on the bloated behemoth that has become of Blizzard, since they forgot about the true meaning of Warcraft.

Fuck, don't even go there. It was bad enough when I ALMOST got addicted to it.
Show us the picture - "World of Warcraft has successfully been uninstalled from your computer"
I would but that was on deviantART and I nuked all my accounts on there after realising how much of a shithole the site truly is. Seriously, deviantART should rot in hell.

Damn.

I can't do that anymore. I've had my one and only shot at the 100th flash.
Now make a proper 101st flash?
101 is nothing special.

Room 101 was the last TV show that Spike Milligan appeared on? That's special!

We call it "music bone", I think this description fits it best: Whenever you bump it, you have a whole band playing some shitty tune in your arm.
Interesting - I tend to go very Death Metal when that happens at the moment.
If it continues to be like this, you might want to see a doctor. But maybe your bone is just oversensitive at the moment.

I haven't nudged it for months and I have no need for the doctor in this respect. Murphy's first law states that I will knock it over the next few days, which would be about right.

Let's see now - driving goggles, driving gloves, driving thong.

Well, they got a tough luck loss last night and the bigger talking point was probably either the fan's Web Gem (Sorry Coco, you're a pro - we expect it from you :P) or the ball boy trying to get a girl's number, by giving her two foul balls. Smooth.
That was a nice catch. He apparently snagged a Barry Bonds HR in exactly the same fashion years ago.

Ah, he's one of those types of guys.

As for the Cards, you can hope that the off day does you good. Back to it tonight and Jake Westbrook toes the rubber against Bumgarner (lol), so it could be difficult for you guys.

Burnett Vs Hernandez tonight - 1 star pitcher that gets no offensive support against a number 2 pitcher that hasn't been at his best this year.
Don't know what it will take to get the Cards back on track, maybe beating up somebody named Bumgarner would do it. Both teams have been heading in the wrong direction so they both need a win, now.

Hmm - tough loss, reasonably tight as well.

Burnett should be fine, it's just the M's.

lol

Awesome! International punchline fun!

*removes elbow* Hello? Yes, I'd like to make a claim - I was injured in an accident that wasn't my fault. Somebody threw a cricket ball at me and broke my telephone bone. Yes, I'm calling you from the other line.
Ironically enough, I can not think of a good pun with the 'funny bone' in it. Go ahead and make fun of our language.

Well, the bone is called a funny bone in England, so funny, plus telephone = that.

Anyway, so when I whack you on the head, you will get all tingly now? That's gotta be annoying.
No worse than brain freeze, when you eat some really cold ice cream.
Remind me to give you plenty of whacks on the head if I ever meet you at an NG meet.

I was very excited to go and see The Expendables somewhere soon, cause I thought that had to be the ultimate action flick with that kind of cast. But alas, I heard it was a great disappointment from anyone who has seen it. I might go and see it anyway though.
Search on YouTube for "Geriatric Action Heroes" I believe it's just this, but someone thought it would be a good film.

"All of these old action heroes. Plus we can kill that bastard Statham off as well!"
You mean the Headcases one? Lol, yeah I heard it was kinda lame like that. Old action heroes being old. Jet Li and Mickey Rourke being the only ones with a good role I heard, but they didn't get that much screentime. Or not enough.

Ah, I might have to watch it then. And not just on DVD...

I would've expected Jason Statham would do well (actually he was my only hope that this movie would actually turn out to be good, instead of a B movie action flick thing), but I've heard nothing of him.

The only thing I know Statham for is knobbing Kelly Brook a few years back.

Too bad Jean Claude van Damme passed for The Expandables. He could've saved the movie! (well, I heard he is playing in some decent movies lately)

Yeah, like this movie could have been saved by a man like Van Damme.

In any case, this needs to be redone because this idea is just too awesome. Next time they gotta bring in guys like Vinnie Jones and Clint Eastwood as well. And let it be written by Robert Rodriguez or Quentin Tarentino.

Or just gas the lot of them?

So obviously orchestra is more important than track to you. Well, you have to get to whatever is more important I guess.

Fortunately it looks like I can do both, provided the meets don't run late and there isn't much traffic. We'll see.

Well you run sprints right? You have the 3,200 relay and high hurdles before the 100 meter comes up. Even with a little bit of traffic you might be able to get there in time for your events.

Ah, that makes sense. Endurance is important though, so you might want to consider a...physical therapist? Did I get it right this time?

The rest of was like, "oh, we saved up enough for the dress." pay for that. a couple of months later we saved enough up to pay for the deposit for the band. a couple of months later the deposit for the cake. ect..

I guess it sounds like a lot now because I don't have a job that pays very much. After college is out and I can get a better job with my degree it won't be such a big number anymore.

I checked out a couple of police agencies to see what their qualifications were and yeah, it seemed to be 60 credits worth of college or an associates degree or 2 years of military service. If you have a good GPA and no felonies you should be fine.

I do have both of these. Like I said, I'll see how the job hunt turns out and if I don't like it I'll try for this degree. My body is built to take a beating so some sort of job like this would be the best.

I know for sure I'm playing semi-pro football next year so hopefully I can find a job that doesn't interfere with that. If I do find a job that interferes with it I won't be able to play ball.

When I went to a community college out of high school I wanted to do business, but I did a liberal arts program just in case. It was a good decision because when I got my associates degree and transferred I applied to the criminal justice program of my new school...but by the time I showed up for orientation at the new school I wanted to do political science with a pre-law minor. When I realized I couldn't do that in time to graduate on time entering into my senior year I changed it to social science. Lots of changes early on and really late in the game. You'll likely change your mind a few more times before you graduate.

I've already changed my mind twice. I went from a History major to a Social Work major to my current Elementary Education major.

Dammit, I wasn't able to draw any cash today due to some fuck up on Barclays' end. Not sure why it happened, though but I really needed cash tonight.

This album has the most epic intro ever.

It sure is. I couldn't get over how epic the intro was when I first heard it. I seem to be noticing a trend with this year's albums starting off with awesome intros. First Overkill's Ironbound with The Green and Black, then Blind Guardian's At the Edge of Time with Sacred Worlds and now Iron Maiden's The Final Frontier with Satellite 15.

At 8/19/10 08:20 AM, Bahamut wrote: They never are and never will. Helloween's Metal Jukebox isn't a real album and neither is Metallica's Garage Inc.
Right. Those CDs are kinda nice and always a nice tribute to other artists, but I dislike how the media always treats those cover albums as "new material" from the band that brings out one.

Most places I know don't advertise them as real albums. They are well stated as cover albums.

While we're on the subject of those two albums, Helloween's Metal Jukebox has silly tracks and should have had more METAL songs while Garage Inc. I'll pick up at some point.

I would hate to see them go, but we just have to face it: They won't be around forever.

This is very true. These bands may have been around for a few decades but they can't last forever. :(

It's either that or actually find a monitor that won't explode from seeing epically awesome stuff.
Maybe the company which build it can release some sort of firmware update to prevent monitors from exploding.

They have to make a specific one for you since it seems you're the only one getting monitors exploded. :P

It just depends how they are with the rest of the site. I heard they might take another 12 months to finish it but it'll all be worth it and I don't mind making icons as long as I can. As long as the others are hard at work as well and will get all the icons done eventually, I'm good.

Actually, we could do with more.
Yes. I think I have almost convinced my gf to make an account.

Almost? Sounds like you didn't try hard enough to get her on here. :P

Then get those stars and so on.
But that takes aaaaages. Unless I do the 5 minute speedrun, but I can't do that long jump trick :(

Just get all the stars again to pass the time.

Just get the occasional new game or find a newer game that's not too expensive. Also, I thought you HAD a Wii.
I had one for a while, but it actually belonged to some friends of mine. They didn't play that much anymore though and it stood in their way, so I took it from them for a couple of months.

So that's how you were able to play those Wii games you said you played.

Anyway, I guess I could do that, but meh... I don't know, I think I enjoy classic games more. Somehow I got the feeling that they don't make that many platformer/adventure games anymore, which is my favorite genre.

Besides Mario, platformers aren't doing very well these days. There are good indie platformers out there but the genre as a whole isn't dominating the gaming industry like it used to.

You needed to consider the time I take to watch the flashes as well. ;) I went through 150 Clock Day flashes on Tuesday and spent most of the day doing them. Today, I'm going to see if I can take down Clock Day 2005 in one big swoop.
Again, imagine all the awesome stuff you could instead in that amount of time.

Yeah, like making icons and helping out for the future of Newgrounds.

The only reason why I'll be crying is if she cheats on me again!
Oh and she will! I bet she's secretly got an eye on Coop and is pulling that old 'make him jealous by dating his friend' trick.

She did have some interest in Slappy a while ago but I made sure she only had one true love which was me.

I tried asking him that but he couldn't hear me at the time and then got caught up with other people. I had very little time to talk to him and there was a few other things I wanted to say such as wondering how the office reacted when I won the Behemoth chicken.
Oh well, I guess he is a busy man. I bet everyone wanted to take a picture with him.

But not as much as Luis wanting to take a picture of myself and him.

Finally we can make a move with taking over the audio portal. Although, I remember saying to Coop at the meet that it would be great if he was an audio mod but he wasn't too keen on it. :P
Damn. Oh well, we're just gonna take over the audio portal fair and square then. By being as epic as Queen!

If that's even possible.

Then we'll take over the hitcharts in the UK and USA, kicking those attention whores like Lady GaGa and Justin Beiber out.

Finally we can do something about these "artists".

I would but that was on deviantART and I nuked all my accounts on there after realising how much of a shithole the site truly is. Seriously, deviantART should rot in hell.

While it probably would be annoying to have a doctor pestering you to have surgery, it might be beneficial to know what exactly you have.
I have a niggle. Nothing more, nothing less.

Alright, if you're sure then I have nothing else to say about it.

Three - all of my co-workers seemed to love it.

Okay, just making sure. Apparently I'm not very familiar with foreign slang.

Well almost all of the meets are on Saturday mornings, but I have to get into the city at 12:30 each Saturday for orchestra rehearsals. If the meets are early enough I can make it to rehearsal on time but some of the meets are simply too late. If I miss three meets I can't be on the team, and I'm not about to skip a rehearsal.
So obviously orchestra is more important than track to you. Well, you have to get to whatever is more important I guess.

Well yes, it's more important, but that doesn't make any less disappointed. I almost feel like the two complement each other somehow. I'll find a way to make it work.

Fortunately it looks like I can do both, provided the meets don't run late and there isn't much traffic. We'll see.
Well you run sprints right? You have the 3,200 relay and high hurdles before the 100 meter comes up. Even with a little bit of traffic you might be able to get there in time for your events.

Track is in the spring. Right now I'm doing cross country which is usually about 3200m. The meets start at different times in the morning though, and that's when it gets difficult. Also the meets are before the rehearsals so as soon I'm done racing I have to leave.

Ah, that makes sense. Endurance is important though, so you might want to consider a...physical therapist? Did I get it right this time?
Yeah, it would be right if there was currently anything wrong with my legs. I think the problem that I have now is being lazy. :P I promise myself to make a schedule that includes cardio when college starts up again.

I do my cardio in the morning because it's cooler and it doesn't interfere with my schedule. Why am I saying this, everyone runs in the morning. Nothing beats a morning run.

Thanks for voting, sushi13! Your experience has been automatically deposited!

With that vote, you now have 8,700 experience points. You need 0 more to get to Level 29. The next Grounds Gold day begins in 23 hours, 41 minutes, and 40 seconds.

The more experience points you have, combined with BLAM and PROTECTION points, the more your vote is worth!

Damn I hate this level icon and I'm stuck with it for the next 2 months. Lucky that the Level 30 icon is probably my favorite of them all so it'll make up for this.

We call it "music bone", I think this description fits it best: Whenever you bump it, you have a whole band playing some shitty tune in your arm.
More like an annoying ringtone.

But ring tones are more like "rriiiiinnggg... *pause* rriiiiinnnnggg... *pause*" and so on. While if you bump that particular bone it's more like "*hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm*" all the way until it gets better, without pauses.

I think I've said that before, but I have to finish my studies until 2012. And I don't even know if that includes my diploma thesis or if I get some extra time for that... ^^
Thesis? Well I heard you generally have to finish that at the end of the summer, or at least that's what they have to do here. But I know a lot of people are waiting and searching for months before they finally get their thesis ideas approved.

I still haven't thought about what I should do for my thesis.

Here even the Bachelor students don't like the bachelor. And I can see why: It's way too much stuff to do in a too short amount of time. Plus, they HAVE to be in all the lectures because they all have a compolsory attendance. Very annoying.
Heh, luckily I don't have a compulsory attendance for lectures. If so, I might have quit my studies some time ago cause listening to all those boring ass lectures that cover 10 lines of text in 2 hours would've driven me crazy.

Or lectures that cover three whole books in 10 minutes. Those are shitty as well.

Unpossible. Unless we'll call ourselves "Scheepskamelen".
Sheep camels?

No, google images suggests that it has something to do with ships, not sheeps.
Brilliant sketch by one of Hollands finest comedian groups. I don't think you can follow it though.

Nope. I could only understand a few words here and there.
But once again I am amazed how any dutch person can say "german is a hard language" while dutch sounds much harder (at least to me ^^).

I just bet you would've done that as a German guy.

http://www.forvo.com/word/swaffelen/

Now that I heard the correct pronunciation, it is pretty close to a sch at the beginning actually =/
People here do both the "schwaf" and the "swaf", so I guess there's no real "correct" pronounciation.
Maybe not. It doesn't really sound like a dutch word anyway, more like something people from Aruba brought over.

Until now I didn't even know that a place called "Aruba" even exists. XD

Yep, like the name Achmed contains the ggg sound. In Spanish the J is also quite similar to ggg but I can't think of any other languages.
Scots and gaelic, maybe. And welsh of course. The "LL" is a similar sound.
The LL? Lol.

Yep. You can see it in names like "Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwll llantysiliogogogoch" (I bet NG puts some spaces in there). XD

Interesting - I tend to go very Death Metal when that happens at the moment.
If it continues to be like this, you might want to see a doctor. But maybe your bone is just oversensitive at the moment.

Blind Guardian - At the Edge of Time

This album has the most epic intro ever.
It sure is. I couldn't get over how epic the intro was when I first heard it. I seem to be noticing a trend with this year's albums starting off with awesome intros. First Overkill's Ironbound with The Green and Black, then Blind Guardian's At the Edge of Time with Sacred Worlds and now Iron Maiden's The Final Frontier with Satellite 15.

Yes, the intro of Final Frontier is great as well, but not as great as At The Edge of Time's intro.

While we're on the subject of those two albums, Helloween's Metal Jukebox has silly tracks and should have had more METAL songs while Garage Inc. I'll pick up at some point.

Garage Inc. is great. No matter if it's a real album or not. ^^

It's either that or actually find a monitor that won't explode from seeing epically awesome stuff.
Maybe the company which build it can release some sort of firmware update to prevent monitors from exploding.
They have to make a specific one for you since it seems you're the only one getting monitors exploded. :P

Maybe others have this problem as well, but they couldn't report it yet because they didn't have a spare monitor.
Or others just don't look at such awesome things I (have to) look at.

Funny. Whenever I hear the name "Barclay" I think of something to drink first. Propably becuase of "Baileys".

Turns out there was a minor error on their end. My mum told me someone else was having the same problem around the same time I tried to draw money. I drew cash later on with no troubles. Ah well, I'm just glad I was able to get money in the end.

Of course not, Sacred Worlds is beyond awesome. However, do you have any thoughts on The Green and Black?

Or others just don't look at such awesome things I (have to) look at.

Or the others aren't unlucky like you are. :P

Yeah, I'm due to get Alzheimer's at some point around 2063 :P

I didn't want to know. :'(

Huzzah! You should have taken all of the icons off your desktop and made that wallpaper with "Wow has successfully been uninstalled" as the standard wallpaper :P

That was back in 2008 and I've well deleted most of those shortcuts. I'm not going to do a second take of uninstalling WoW.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

It's a good thing you said you added me since I don't check my blotter daily to see what's going on. On the bright side, the friends tab does tell you right at the top if you have any invites or not.

You still make it seem like a walk in the park.
WHY THA...*ahem* Why thank you :P

Oddly enough, I heard that despite the vuvuzelas around.

I don't want to take all the credit. I want to dedicate the new site to the whole of Wi/Ht.
Wi/Htgrounds doesn't exactly roll off the tongue though, why not Bahamutgrounds where Wi/Ht is given greater importance?

WhereisGrounds?

Response to Wi/Ht? level up! Lounge 2010-08-22 11:31:46

Oh my, you certainly have my admiration.
I can never seem to stick to a workout regime aside from fitting in a 3 mile walk around once a day, and of course depositing my experience on the Interwebs.
I believe the longest I've ever stuck with a routine was for around 8 months, and that was back when I was 15.
