I only need about 1,050 until I rank up, that would take about a week for me over the summer, now it'll take more like 2 weeks. Oh well, I'll get there eventually.

damn from #35 i got kicked back too #37 in only 2 day's the ones that pased me got all most 200 points in those day's and one of them isn't even that active =(

Re: cheating the profile update times. That's an interesting practice, but I'm with Joe on this one. There are days when NG is down for 12+ hours, and if it happens to be a range that overlaps a new GG day starting, you're shit outta luck if you haven't deposited beforehand. Better safe than sorry.

Also, my OCD compels me to find out my rank each and every day, and if I didn't deposit until after the profile update time, I wouldn't know my rank for that day. Not worth it to get more uppage the next update (specially now that I hardly move at all... more on that later).

From what I could tell, it seems like you guys (not you two specifically, but ... whatever) were talking about different things. There is, on the one hand, not being credited for blams or saves you ACTUALLY VOTED on, but we've been over that before. liljim's said it's a glitch in the crediting system at times, and it's usually credited to you eventually. Might take hours or days, but sooner or later you get the points that are due to you.

On the other hand, there is the quickly-appearing-and-passing-judgement flashes on the portal that most of you meant by the getting-cheated-by-points talk...

there's a simple solution to that: don't use the portal. I don't, personally, because the portal flash slows my comp down, and I get tired of those "do you want to install blah blah" that only pop up on the portal and the main NG page, AFAIK.

Go to the lowest-id-numbered flash that's under judgement right now. Vote. Go back to the flash's screen, not all the way back to the portal. From there, add 1 to the id #. Vote again. Go back. Add 1 to the id # again. Repeat repeat repeat. You might hit a graveyard page every now and then if you've been neglecting the computer for a bit, but you won't miss many saves this way. The only problem is that sometimes movies don't go to the graveyard, and you get the error message that makes it look like the movie just hasn't been uploaded to that id # yet.

Solution: when you get to an id # that has an error message (assuming it's not a "marked for review" error message, in which case just add 1 to the id again and move on), you can either add 1 to the id again and see if there's another movie beyond it waiting already... or you can go to the portal quickly to make sure you're not missing out on other movies beyond the id you're at now. Then duck back to the id you were waiting at. Hit refresh every minute or so.

You'll get to see the movies as SOON as they come onto the system. No lag like the portal listing itself sometimes experiences. You just have to do a bit more work with the id # adding, but I find it worth it.

and thus 2 5% increases instead of 7 and then 5.

I agree with whoever said that General could just get up to 50, and then you get a huge 10% bonus at supreme commander to push you up to 60%... but on the other hand, like I said, having a big bonus at general does make the bitter pill of 4500 points needed for the last badge a BIT easier to swallow.
