100 Art Review Responses!
Now that's the first announced achievement of this kind, though I know that some people have more responses than me (Haggard; XwaynecoltX for example)
Coop continues to sum up his thoughts on the NHL Playoffs, while congratulating:

The ranks are nice, but I've never done it for them - I've done it for the fact that I want to protect NG from waves of shite.
If this was true, we wouldn't have so many awful, awful flashes on the verge of being blammed (a score of 1.60 or something), but that still stay on the site, probably because of users who vote 5 on every submission just go get quick points.
Your evidence is circumstantial at best. Some people use proxies and other nefarious methods to get their pieces through.
If everyone actually watched them and voted based on that, they would have a score of 0.10...
Yeah, we know.
Come on, how many users would be flagging reviews (and I mean regularly, not occasionally) if the whistle system wasn't implemented?
Since I'm the most qualified to answer this, quite a few - we haven't seen much of an increase in the number of flagged reviews since the days when people were trying to be the only Deity user and the only Gold user.

Once you've got past there, it might be worth putting it up to the top 100 list, to fit in with the Flash and Audio reviewers lists.Currently I have found 110 users who have 60+ Art Reviews. The 100th user has 68 Reviews. I'm not quite sure how many profiles I have to look at for this list to be statistically significant but I have been through about 2400 of them in the past three days.
Well, for my lists, I've got about 200-250 for the top 150 lists and about 170 for the Review Responses list.
I have interest in it - I've got to beat MindChamber! I can certainly see me doing that over the next few weeks, since there are plenty of new arts out there for me to review :DExcellent. I will update in a week with the new users I have found. I think you stand at #19, at the moment.
Not bad - I'll keep writing reviews and climbing the list, but I lost some yesterday :(

As far as I'm aware, it's not going to happen - we will see a number of Level 60 users, without the level requirement increasing.
That was discussed when they got as far as the redesign, but I will admit, it was ambiguous. I'm leaning away from the bad old days.
Oh hi there, folks. No time to post catchups in here tonight.... though I did the Revolution catchup on Sunday and the EGRL catchup on Monday, so that's nice and all... and I WILL get around to a re-re-catchup in here soon enough (this week, hopefully)...
BUT anyway, in the meantime... I did just hit a landmark postcount, which happens about once a year for me these days with the rate I'm posting at... so hey, why not.
12,000 big (I'd put my average post length up against anyone's, dagnabit!) ones... too bad I can't cash them in for some coinage. ;_;

Also, sucks to be in a higher income family with parents that don't want to jump in.8.25 is really the cap for such rates. I think most of my loan averaged about 5.00 where the highest was 6.25 but still it's better than taking a loan from a bank where the rate are upwards of 15-22%.
15-22% sounds like a whole lot to me. There are constantly commercials on TV here of companies which offer loans of 6-11%. I think 11% are the banks, so that's much cheaper than in your country. I guess those high rates are one of the reasons why so many people are in financial trouble in your country, right?
Averaged only 15 hours a week in college? :p Last period I had 40 hours scheduled, which is pretty extreme even to our countries standards, but 20+ hours is normal here. That's insane. The minimum for full time in the US for most colleges is 12 hours while the max is about 18 hours.
For full time the max is 18 hours? :o
What the hell. I suppose you get a shitload of homework then. Either that, or you're expected to have a part-time job and such along with it. I can't imagine you guys may go to college for 18 hours and then sit on your ass for the rest of the week.
At 4/11/10 01:22 PM, Auz wrote: I think people will be interested in such a list, but maybe wait with making the thread for a bit longer? It seems to me like the feature hasn't even been developed fully yet. I suppose admins will eventually put them under the Flash and Audio reviews under Newgrounds Stats and will show which review belongs to which submission. That is true but there is no telling when they will get everything working. I think the major hurdle for Rob is that the Art Thumbnails are bigger than 46x46 so it won't fit in the Review boxes. Something like that could mean several more months of work.
Could be. That wouldn't seem to hard to solve to me, but I don't know much about it.
Once they implemented that, it may become easier to update the stat. On top of that you're probably gonna find some new users soon, so if you would post the list right now you might have to make a lot of changes later. Also that is true but it's not like it going to be this week or next that such a thread will be created. I was just curious would such a thread be wanted.Trust me, every time I search the Art Portal I spot someone who I haven't found before so it's far from complete, especially the bottom half. ;)
Oh alright. Well take your time then. I think Fro also had a good idea by saying that making a topic in the Art Forum first might be handy. I'm sure people there know much more about the users in the Art Portal than we do.

I saw it on sale for £13.50 and I thought "Hey, that's a good price!" so I bought it. Now I wish I waited for the GOTY edition. Then again, when I get to playing Fallout 3, I'll have more than enough to do on it without the extras.

I'm sure we won't see the EXP requirements increase ever again. I mean, would they completely change the level system around only to have it increasing once again 3 years after the redesign? I leaning towards that I won't change considering at the moment I would take a user 10.6 Years to reach Level 60 as is. You really don't want to disenfranchise user to stop depositing for the sake of it being impossible to level up because it will stop one draw to the site; earning experience, levels.
I still think it will be constant just like the B/P Ranks when you reach EGSC but will see...

I guess those high rates are one of the reasons why so many people are in financial trouble in your country, right?
In part. Primarily it was due to giving credit to people who creditor knew they were unable to pay back. Those creditors earn not only interest from those people but things like late fees and fees of the same sort which kept people from paying the principle of the loan.
What the hell. I suppose you get a shitload of homework then. Either that, or you're expected to have a part-time job and such along with it. I can't imagine you guys may go to college for 18 hours and then sit on your ass for the rest of the week.
Most of my courses homework was optional since Exams have to be a certain percentage of your grade, especially the Final which was mandated to be a minimum of 30% of your grade. Of course for certain courses you have projects to do or essays to write which might be considered an exam grade but as far as homework in a traditional sense I wouldn't say so.
There is so much free time you can see how many students fall in to a gap of not studying, getting too preoccupied with a part time job and ending up dropping out.
Could be. That wouldn't seem to hard to solve to me, but I don't know much about it.
Maybe he has something figured out or he might just required Art users to submit a 46x46 icon from now on.

Yeah I was thinking about that. When you think about it, the only new items that you can quantify that has been added to profiles in the past few years have been Art Reviews, Medal Points, and Audio Reviews. It might seem a lot of review threads but there is a lot of things you can review on this site.
Just wait for the Lit Portal and that review system too, then it will be a lot. :P

Just like the others I don't think the scaling will come back. All the work of adding new levels would be pointless if the levels would scale again. I guess they will introduce some more levels once a few users have reached level 60.

Because I finally got the restoration pack for Fallout 2 from KillAp to work and I have to play that first. XD
STEAM IS TH E PLA- wait, we had that already.
Sad thing is that yesterday the restoration pack didn't work. I'll give it one more try if it doesn't work again, screw the restoration pack. >:(
But, coming back to the "servers shutting down"-discussion: Today is the last day that you can play online with the XBOX, starting tomorrow Microsoft will no longer support it.
Doesn't ICQ only use numbers for their names? MSN and AIM have NAMES! Both have many useful features which I doubt ICQ even have, unless it's been updated all this time.My guess is they used MSN or AIM instead of the ancient ICQ.So, what makes MSN/AIM more advanced than ICQ then?
I can log in with either my ICQ number my email. Also, of course you have names in ICQ. Mine is - surprisingly enough - Haggard. :P
Which features are you talking about? To my knowledge ICQ supports chat rooms (you can invite multiple users into it) and of course chatting between two users. Which are about the only things a client should support, imo. ^^

Umm which one?

Lot more creative than my other possible suggestion of Coop84 - Cooper's illegitimate child. :P

Actually.... I was telling you what it was translated into off of memory from what the programmer told me. I translated it myself and even better yet... it translates into, "Live Version of the Terrorist to Escape the Room."
Timmy and I decided that the Chinese view American education as terrorism, therefor the dorm room was a terrorist room.Hmm, that's certainly a different point of view.
Long story short, Nick is actually considered a terrorist in Hong Kong from some internet nonsense from years ago in college. We assume the game was titled that way because of the plane flying into a building though. :P

I think 11% are the banks, so that's much cheaper than in your country. I guess those high rates are one of the reasons why so many people are in financial trouble in your country, right? In part. Primarily it was due to giving credit to people who creditor knew they were unable to pay back. Those creditors earn not only interest from those people but things like late fees and fees of the same sort which kept people from paying the principle of the loan.
Yeah I've heard something like that. There was also this South Park episode about it, which explained it nicely :p
Most exams here are just 100% of your grade :p You either pass or fail the subject based on that one exam, no exceptions. Projects are usually separated from the courses, but they're not so hard to pass. They're just a lot of work.
I'm not sure which system I'd prefer. Yours sounds more relaxing because if you got a good grade for that 70% already you won't even have to bother with the exam.
There is so much free time you can see how many students fall in to a gap of not studying, getting too preoccupied with a part time job and ending up dropping out.
Yeah I guess that is to be expected. No wonder the American education system has such a bad reputation ;) I think in most countries in Europe they always try to give us as much to do as possible. Although the drop-out rate is still high at some studies.

Wait, so your year officially starts after those resits in September/October? Around here its usually: Year starts around 1st of September, resits the week before.
Haha me neither. You're doing some engineering studies as well right? I don't know. I'm guessing it's gonna be sitting behind a computer, writing reports and such almost all day long.Yeah, business informatics. I think I will try to find a job that has a bit more to do with informatics rather than a job that focusses on the business part of my studies.
Oh that's not really engineering is it? Sounds more like ... economics mixed with computer programming. Something like that. Is that right?

Now it works. Turns out the game crashed because it looked for some files that wheren't there due to the game being cut in Germany. Fuck censorship! >:(

Well, we study in semesters here, one semester (no surprises) lasts for half a year. The summer semester usually is from April to July and the winter semester lasts from October to February.
Exams are always at the end of the semester, the resits start about one month after the semester ended and if you are really unlucky (like me last semester) the last exam is only a few days before the next semester starts.

Oh yeah, I got mixed up a bit there. But informatics isn't all about programming. :P
It's more about "how does a computer work" (and it goes into the deepest details there, luckily I don't have to do that for my studies), about safety in general, safety in networks, safety in distributed systems, distributed systems in general, databases, human-computer-interactions, etc...
Only a VERY small part is programming.
So, my study field is more about "How to connect the business world with the computer world", as in both worlds people speak different languages, and more often than not they simply don't understand each other. ^^
Congrats you just earned Lt General!
Hot damn... It only seemed 10 days ago I was a Brig. General. Three more rank and I will make Sup. Commander! I can't wait for that day to come...
