Well, if they can get exports going again, they will certainly reap the benefits. Donovan will head back to the MLS with some great experience from Everton. He may have struggled with the language, but other than that, he should be good.I thought he was trying to stay. Regardless, we need more talent who are willing to play. If an athlete in the US has a choice of what they are going to play they will always go for Amer. Football, Baseball, Basketball. rather than Soccer. There is just little interest in it outside of U-17 leagues.
Yeah, but perhaps it's a case that the "also rans" will turn into some decent footballers for you and you will be able to develop the national side. Don't forget, you've got so much more population to choose from and therefore, there should be enough bodies to fill up the NFL, MLB, NBA and the NHL quotient, while leaving plenty of space in the minor leagues and also in MLS.
I can't imagine what our team would look like if we had Anquan Boldin or Reggie Bush streaking down the wing, Brian Urlacher as a fullback, or Kevin Garnett as a keeper.
I'm guessing the first two are from the NFL, while I know who Kevin Garnett is (NBA) I think that he'd be wasted with his massive frame in goal, to be honest.
Yeah, we should. He's the one that would get a stick up his arse - a banstick :PNaughty.
Not necessarily - if he tried to sound dark and troubled like he did last time, I think we'd have to sit down and have a little chat.

Kuranyi was pretty good last season and this season as well, but he won't play for germany again as long as Löw is the coach. Kuranyi went home on his own during the half time during a match against russia (they played in Gelsenkirchen where Kuranyi also lives) because he didn't play...

Yeah that is true. I think what is needed is some higher wages in the MLS to help woo some athletic talent way. I seriously doubt that the MLS wages are no where near the Big Four wages or European Leagues pay.

Yeah they are in the NFL; a Wide Receiver and a Running Back respectively. I think KG would be great as a keeper. Look how big his reach from side to side; he just could stand there and swat shots down without moving at all. :)

Yeah, it's quite funny how this still is such a big topic today even though both players are got along with each other only a few months after the incident. IIRC they even appeared in a commercial together.

Yeah it seems once a striker wears the national strip he suddendly doesn't know how to kick the ball anymore. But that doesn't matter too much as long as the midfielders or the defenders score the goals. ^^

http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerd_Müller
Also called "der Bobmer der Nation" (the nation's Bomber) or "kleines dickes Müller" (Small fat Müller).
He scored 365 goals in the Bundesliga and 68 for the national team (in only 66 international matches! O_O). Also he was the most succesful scorer at a WC with 14 goals until Ronaldo took over the first place with his goals in the WC 2006.
And Thomas Müller is 20 now.
