Alternative Character Battle 2 - Battle 10: Engineer vs Dogen

Today, I entered the Top 200 in EXP! Sadly, I couldn't be exactly #200 but oh well, I'll take the extra rank for granted. I entered the top 250 on 19th July 2009 so that's taken me almost 7 months from 250 to 200. I'm guessing I won't see a top 150 entry until the end of the year.

Also, I decided to make my Top 10 metal intros but bare in mind that due to copyright claims, you may not be able to see this video. :( WMG and Sony took copyright claim on this video (but it's still up there) the second it was uploaded. Damn!

Another Brick in the Wall is indeed another one, although the parts are not that long.

And it's hard to count them as one song, since they're "bonded" with other songs. I mean, you can't listen to parts 1 and 2 without "The Happiest Days In Our Lives" between them. I'd rather listening to The Wall as a whole.

Another album that comes to mind is Ummagumma. I haven't listened to it all that much yet, but I believe there are many songs with many parts on it.

I've never heard it, despite my dad having it (I think). I'll give a listen to some of his old LPs one day, there are some great (and rare) things in there.

All I know is that there is some pretty odd stuff on that album. I do like the song The Narrow Way part 3 very much though.

In my opinion, they should make a "more flashes, higher score" thing. For every 10 flashes an account has, the score for other flashes of his to pass should raise. That could work as well.

I started listening to rock in general early as well. It helped me with English and defining what songs I like nowadays. I loved Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Zeppelin, Mike Oldfield, Genesis... All the songs that my dad listens to, basically.

In The Flesh, a really good DVD. It's part Pink Floyd/part Roger Waters' songs.

You know, that doesn't sound like a bad idea. You would think the more as a user submits the better he should get. I like this idea but it might be difficult to implement because they might break out an alt just to submit garbage.

Eh, I think the staff feels very hesitant about having users mess around with other user submitted content. They typically want all of the responsibility of deleting stuff on Wade or another Staff's shoulders in case they are wrong.

What I really think they can use is another Admin to help carry Wade's burden of dealing with stolen content and such. What's Luis really doing; let's get him to do some work. :)

Yeah, Wade isn't too quick with this stuff due to the volume of PM's he gets. It's been five days since I pm'd him about a stolen submission and it's still here. More staff would be great.

Annoyingly so, sometimes. I think that she just skips some track to spite me. The softer rock ones, like Floyd just seem to fall into the group that she skips past.

Mind you, I have even managed to get her to sing along in duet with me for Reel Big Fish's "She Has A Girlfriend Now", which is quite funny and an achievement at the same time.

I forgot to post at 21,000 Medal Points, but that doesn't matter anymore I guess.

I told myself that the next time I leveled up or reached a milestone that I would start making lists again like I use to. So here I am and lets see if I can do it a bit longer than I did last time. I do miss this forum and I don't post here that often anymore so this is probably a good way to get back into it.

Looks like I'll have to miss making the lists on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday most of the time because on the weekends I'm either nowhere near a computer or I'm on dial up. Tuesday's will have to be a large list because of this.

So yeah, lists from me start tomorrow. How is everyone doing?

Well for a long time I've only been listening to U2 and some other 80's and 90's music. Only when I turned 17 or so I got into 60's and 70's classic rock stuff such as Creedence Clearwater Revival, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Doors, AC/DC etc.

I have also started to listen to David Bowie recently and while I don't like all of his music, he is a very interesting singer in my opinion. I still want to give that Ziggy Stardust album a listen someday.

Led Zeppelin I don't know much about and I'm actually a bit embarrassed there. Only songs I know are Stairway to Heaven (which I don't like) and The Immigrant Song (which I do like). I'm sure that they have more stuff that I will like, but I just haven't been arsed to listen to them yet.

A friend of mine has a Mike Oldfield CD (Tubular Bells) which I've listened to once. I kinda liked his music and I got that 'Finale' song on my MP3 =)

And as for Genesis, I'm not a big fan. But they got a few nice songs, like Salzbury Hill.

Of course I have! As a matter of fact, I got it listed as my favorite movie of all time in my favorite movies section =) Also my girlfriend bought me the DVD a while ago, and I've watched it a couple of times since then.

I got a bit more lucky. My girlfriend and I have a very similar taste in music. She got me into The Beatles and I got her into some U2, Creedence and Pink Floyd. So no fighting over what songs to play.

I decided to not bother with YouTube after the video screwing up my channel by not showing any videos at all, so instead of putting my video on there, you can see it on Blip. So far, no complaints but if I ever get a problem with them, I'll take reverend's advice and use Veoh.

You're right about that. Achievements for my main account are a rarity these days. These are my next four achievements to get:

1 + 2) 20,000 EXP + 4x20k (first one too)
3) 21,000 posts (This might come before 20k EXP but we'll see)
4) Level 44

And I won't get level 44 until May.

This I find annoying as well. If their copyright claims just threw ads on my video, I wouldn't complain but they took a step further. I wouldn't be surprised if I could find videos of all 10 songs I used and was able to watch them.

Eh, I think the staff feels very hesitant about having users mess around with other user submitted content. They typically want all of the responsibility of deleting stuff on Wade or another Staff's shoulders in case they are wrong.

Well thought, it would be a huge responsibility to just leave the submissions in someone else's hands. But the mods could deal only with the recently submitted ones, if they're really concerned about it. Like removing file-swappers instantly, flagged submissions...

What I really think they can use is another Admin to help carry Wade's burden of dealing with stolen content and such. What's Luis really doing; let's get him to do some work. :)

You should give a listen to "Rock And Roll" and "Black Dog". They're a lot better than Stairway to Heaven.

A friend of mine has a Mike Oldfield CD (Tubular Bells) which I've listened to once. I kinda liked his music and I got that 'Finale' song on my MP3 =)

Ah, Tubular Bells is my Oldfield reference. I like his music, despite having some really long tracks. Also, I think he did the soundtrack to The Exorcist with that album.

And as for Genesis, I'm not a big fan. But they got a few nice songs, like Salzbury Hill.

Never heard that one. =P But if you are interested, try Invisible Touch, or their Live Over Europe 2007, both are great albums.

In The Flesh, a really good DVD. It's part Pink Floyd/part Roger Waters' songs.

Anyway, I'm watching the performance right now. Great performance of the song indeed. Especially the guy who sings David Gilmours part does an excellent job if you ask me.

The guy with the red guitar? He's awesome. And his technique is admirable, since he does what Hendrix did: left handed with a right handed guitar. And he sings well too.

Also I've just seen the poker part you mentioned, but unfortunately the video cuts somewhere in that part. So I didn't see the dealer vocals you were talking about and I can't find the full version either =(

Of course I have! As a matter of fact, I got it listed as my favorite movie of all time in my favorite movies section =) Also my girlfriend bought me the DVD a while ago, and I've watched it a couple of times since then.

Ah, great! It's one of my favourite movies as well, although I don't have the DVD. I really like the Comfortably Numb part, despite being a little "annoying" watching him shaving everything he has. =P

But it's an excellent movie indeed. I have to watch it again someday.

We could have it to where only one IP address could only submit two items per day but god forbid anyone on AOL networks who want to submit anything since IP Address tend to be shared by regions.

A higher blam threshold would be nice but if it was bumped up to closer to 2 or exactly at 2 then what would be the point of voting 2 on things? Sure you could vote 3, but some movies are worth that much but are still worth saving.

As far as I can tell, the Audio Mods don't delete stuff but rather pass them on to Wade and he removes it. Maybe a system like that would be reasonable to be considered or else some way to flag a submission after judgment.

Yeah I probably should get involved more, lol. Problem is, between spending time at my girlfriend's place, having lectures, doing menial tasks, and spending time with friends, I don't get much real "me time" (read: Newgrounds time). So I basically just need a few more hours in the day and I'd be a happy camper.
