So what about Kwanzaa and Hanukkah? As I've said, most european countries have a christian background, so why should there be breaks for Kwanzaa or Hanukkah in a country if it has no cultural/religious background?

It just happened that way - I gravitated to the Avs, because of Joe Sakic, so I really miss his presence on the team. With the Nuggets, it was a case that I followed a kid from the Syracuse Orangemen when they won the NCAA finals in 2003. Of course, that was on Carmello Anthony. I was never that big of a LeBron fan, but Melo's carving himself a nice niche this year.

Same goes for Germany in their group, Serbia and Ghana are dangerous opponents, but Germany should win this group.

Yeah, but it's about the money, not the sport. Or more about the money than the sport. The TV rights for a final "Brazil vs Spain" could be sold much better to other countries than say "Denmark vs New Zealand".

Best Poster Bahamut7!
It happens, you do get those who nominate for you but you barely know them. I don't even know who andhination is and he gave me Most Overrated. Then again, he did make a comment on how Most Underrated should always be those who aren't even mentioned at all.
True but Most Improve suggests that I was a spammer or a poor poster before. That category should be for the reformed. Anyways, I guess that andhination thought you were an overrated underrated user.

Good luck with that. o.O

Group B is full of dark horses and Group A could throw up a surprise or two. Mexico and Uruguay are good teams at present. You can never write off a double world champion, after all.
I was also glad our country still got Denmark as an opponent. At least we got a little bit of competition now. I don't expect much from Japan and Cameroon to be honest.
Cameroon are another country to be worried about - not as potent as the Ivory Coast, with Drogba

Because they are great Xmas presents for someone else! You can leave them to make noise at other people's houses and watch, as they get thrown out of windows.
This is where Futurama gets respect. They acknowledge the other December holidays unlike the majority of the population today. You sure Hanukkah isn't celebrated in Germany in the slightest?"Hey, Kwanzaabot, where you off to?
Ah, you didn't hear about it? Chanukah Zombie's having a luau at the B'nai Brith! You comin'?"
That's because they've got quite a few Jewish writers, but Kwanzaa just got in there, because it was a good character for Coolio :P

Yeah, the same can be said for the Avs, but hopefully, this is a positive season, where the resurgence starts!

I can't believe how easy the group is though, not just C but all of them.
Well, it depends if Mr. Capello chooses Lampard and Gerrard in the centre of midfield - they can't cope with the pressure and they play too alike.

I was also glad our country still got Denmark as an opponent. At least we got a little bit of competition now. I don't expect much from Japan and Cameroon to be honest.
Same goes for Germany in their group, Serbia and Ghana are dangerous opponents, but Germany should win this group.
I think none of those countries are title candidates or anything. It will already be a sensation if any of them even makes it to the semi's. Therefore it is indeed a disappointment for both Holland and Germany if they would not win their groups. And in all the other groups there's a similar situation, except the group with Brazil and Portugal.
Anyway, I wish they just got rid of the protected status for awesome countries... I'd rather have a group of death with Holland, Brazil, Italy and Germany than only having interesting matches near the finals. It already seems predetermined who's gonna get to the second round and who isn't.Yeah, but it's about the money, not the sport. Or more about the money than the sport. The TV rights for a final "Brazil vs Spain" could be sold much better to other countries than say "Denmark vs New Zealand".
Yeah.. I think you are right, sadly. Although I think it's very likely that two strong countries make it to the finals anyway.

Everyone who stops by? No wait, we would need at least a mod then to make sure nobody votes for people who never even visit this forum. Maybe just all the regulars and members? That could turn into at least.. 50 voters or so.

Hmm I thought Ivory Coast was considered the best African country at the moment. Which makes it very nice that they ended up in a group with Portugal and Brazil. But I'm not very familiar with the african teams. All I know is that I wouldn't bet my money on any of them making it to the finals.
The Serbs are a decent team I guess. But aren't most of their good players retired by now? Kovacevic, Kezman and players like that?
Group B is full of dark horses and Group A could throw up a surprise or two. Mexico and Uruguay are good teams at present. You can never write off a double world champion, after all.
Mexico has always had a decent team. Although I can't think of any Mexicans right now playing for major clubs. But yeah I guess they would be an underdog, which makes them a dangerous opponent.
Uruguay I do not expect that much from, but I'm interested in those matches since Suarez will be playing for them. Suarez being the topscorer for my favorite club (Ajax) and the topscorer of the dutch competition. He was well underway of making at least 40 goals by the end of the season, but sadly he hasn't scored much in the last few matches. He's currently at 17 goals out of 16. Anyway, I'd like to see how well he does on WC level.
I was also glad our country still got Denmark as an opponent. At least we got a little bit of competition now. I don't expect much from Japan and Cameroon to be honest.Cameroon are another country to be worried about - not as potent as the Ivory Coast, with Drogba
We should win the match against Cameroon. They're not a title candidate in my eyes.

I don't know that one - not that I'm really a Futurama buff, mind you. o.o But storylines like that also show me just why I'm not; the Simpsons may have jumped the shark at a certain point, after a couple of seasons, but Futurama pretty much started that way already, despite all its funny moments etc. There's some nuggets in there, and it may be fun to watch on occasion if you have half an hour of your life to waste, but worthwhile it ain't, generally speaking.
Or maybe I'm just feeling particularly negative again today. :P

I believe it does and I believe it means I'm right about the shitblade being shit and how you get angry everytime you achieve something.Well, you are wrong once again, but you already know that. :P
Nope, I'm right for all four subjects! :D Say, what else have we been debating a lot about?
Give The Years of Decay a try but maybe not listen to Elimination first as that sounds very much alike to Master of Puppets and The Four Horsemen/Mechanix.Again, too much stuff to buy and only so little money to spend. :(
Why not go to some online radio site like Spotify or Last.fm (if it's free for you, that is)?
It's so for Christmas but not Hanukkah? BIAS!Lol, I don't think you get a break for christmas in countries with a jewish background either. :P

The term 'overrated underrated' is simply a contradiction. Anyone who gets called both overrated and underrated are pretty much in between and that's how I feel. Next time, just save the Most Underrated nomination for someone else.
