Sometimes the age ratings make no sense and if the original game was re-rated, it would only be 12+. 15 was probably too much, most especially since that was the age rating for Doom. The violence in the original Tomb Raider doesn't look like much now but Doom still looks gory even if it's 16 years old.
Really I don't think any of the TR games deserve more than a 12 rating. Maybe back in 1996 people freaked out over the fact that you could stare at a woman's butt for hours on end. Also Lara has a little cleavage that looks like it was drawn with the pencil on MS Paint. Shock horror!
The only game I thought was reasonable getting a 15 rating was the first just for the mutants later on and of course, the violence. :P
I'll need to get the PC copies of the first two games but I'm willing to get them whenever I have the urge to play them again which should be soon considering all this Tomb Raider talk I've had here. Also, hearing that I need the physical copy of the two games gives me an idea. If any release of the games are accepted, I could get the Double Pack and be able to play the bonus levels as soon as I get them. However, for nostalgia sake, I'd like to play through the games themselves before the bonus levels.
I imagine any version of the games is fine, you should just need to have them installed on your PC to make use of the downloads. You should be able to get both TR and TR2 on play.com for around 3-4 quid each.
Or even better, both games for just £3 altogether. I decided to order one on Tuesday and once I get it, it'll be time to replay the games. :) Sure, I might have trouble installing them but I should be fine with the patches and such.
As for Tombraiders.net, I recognise that site before from when I was looking into the Tomb Raider Level Editor. I was wanting to design just a small level but the program was complicated and I wasn't sure if it did work in the end. Maybe my old computer couldn't handle it due to its resolutions but I did follow the instructions carefully and I still couldn't make my desired level. :( I guess I could give it a try sometime soon to see if it works better the second time round.
Ah the level editor. One day I will get round to making the level I always envisioned, which is basically a long corridor with lots of locked rooms leading off it. You start with a key that unlocks the first room, where you have to get past a trap or undergo a trial of some kind to get another key which opens another room and the sequence repeats until you get to the last room with the level end.
Now that sounds awesome. I'd love to see a level like that being made. Who knows, maybe there's already a level similar to that out there but it'd be great if you made a level yourself. :) I didn't want to do much with my level and all it would have been was facing Torso Beast, dragon and mutant spider at once. Due to WAD issues and such, it was really complicated to do. x_x My other option would be to face more than one Torso Beast at once.
You should have another go at it as well, maybe you'll have more luck this time.
Maybe I'll look into it soon enough. :)
Yeah, I felt sorry for him too but at least he's beaten the game and now it's seeing how he does with The Last Revelation. If he's able to beat it thoroughly, I will be amazed as I always stop playing half-way through.
Kinda drags on doesn't it? I remember thinking it was about damn time it finished about half way through as well. But I pressed on because I probably didn't have anything better to do at the time.
Yeah, I felt The Last Revelation was too long. Too many filler levels, most especially the second half. If the game was around 1/3 - 1/2 shorter, it would have been more playable.
Therefore I try my hardest to unlock all achievements in the games I play. I see it as a challenge, and I can't pass up a challenge.
Yeah, challenges are good but I don't put the full effort into getting every single one. If I'm desperate to get some eventually, I'll try and get them some other time. The best examples are Team Fortress 2 achievements where there's a lot to get but I'm not that desperate to get every single one. The only ones I want right now are those that'll unlock additional weapons for me.
At the end of the day each console has it's good and bad points and it's just a matter of weighing up the differences and deciding which good points you're most interested in and which bad points will piss you off the least.
Exactly! :D All three consoles have their strengths and weaknesses and there really is no superior console. It all depends on which console has the best games for you.

And so much more. I do have last.fm, but I usually listen to music on CD. The stuff on last.fm is mostly my summer playlist and other stuff I can't find in CD format.
Ah, you do? :) What's your name on the site? Here's my account if you wish to add me.

Haha, I know Clock Day is very soon but I'm not that bothered this year. With having enough saves already and having a good time with my friends this Saturday, I'm not bothered about missing out on Clock Day this year. After all, I did have a lot of fun in the previous few years so that's good enough for me.
Ah, so you finally decided to move on and get closer to your real retirement numbers. I thought you were just waiting for Wade to delete flagged entries so that you won´t overshoot your retirment numbers.
I thought I was safe to get more blam points. I did get a few blams since I stopped so I assume Wade did clear the flagged entries. However, I could do with stopping temporarily at 50 blams short and wait again.
But anyway, now that you almost stopped saving, why not go and settle a blam point record on clock day if you got some time left?
Nah, I'll take a break from the portal tomorrow. The rest of you can have fun with Clock Day but I'll just sit back and relax.

Meh, Dr. Pepper beats all.
Eh Mr. Pibb beats Dr. Pepper. Unless it Berries and Cream Dr. Pepper.
Nope, Mr. Pibb does not beat Dr. Pepper. Ordinary Dr. Pepper is the best and will always be the best.
