7.00 Base Voting Power!

Hey there! How's everyone?

I'm not going to catch-up now, nor anytime soon, I think. I started a studying course for university during the afternoons, thrice a week and on Saturdays every fifteen days! I counted a bit, and I think I study about 10 hours everyday, not counting when I'm at home or the class break-times. It's pretty tiring, but I'll get used to it. Good bye, free time. =(

Anyway, I hope I don't have classes this Saturday, because of Clock Day, of course. I'm planning on getting at least 100 saves on the 15th, and re-balance my B/P ratio (unintended this time). And, maybe, make a quick catch-up, who knows... =P

Also, I usually don't make ''achievement-only'' posts, but I'd probably forget this one, since I don't look at my VP that often, heh. Good ol' NG Log. =)

See ya!

Jeez, I almost forgot that clockday is just around the corner :o

I´m lucky that my parents are gonna go on a holiday at 2:00 in the morning, so I got the whole house for myself during the day. Which means I can save all I want without being disturbed =) Only thing is that my girlfriend might come over in the evening, but by that time I´ll probably be satisfied with my amount. I also gotta study a bit and do some shopping.

Looking at my current stats, there really isn´t much interesting I can achieve though. If all goes similar to last year, I´d probably reach 51,000 bp and 33,000 saves by the end of the day. Maybe 33,333 saves if I press on a bit. But the only interesting one, top 50 bp, is probably still a little too far away.

Achievement of the Day
Coop83: 39,000 Saves. And another win for Coop =) Good luck with getting to 40,000 on clockday. Would be a sweet number.

Congrats to:
Hacsev: Level 22

Meh, if it's damage limitation over Cock Day, then I'll just stay as close as I can to you, in order to make the pass permanent at some point later in the year.

The violence in the original Tomb Raider doesn't look like much now but Doom still looks gory even if it's 16 years old.

Really I don't think any of the TR games deserve more than a 12 rating. Maybe back in 1996 people freaked out over the fact that you could stare at a woman's butt for hours on end. Also Lara has a little cleavage that looks like it was drawn with the pencil on MS Paint. Shock horror!

His brother has tried so hard to get him to skip Angel of Darkness but no matter what happens, he's going to play through Angel of Darkness. ;_;

Poor deluded bastard...

I'll need to get the PC copies of the first two games but I'm willing to get them whenever I have the urge to play them again which should be soon considering all this Tomb Raider talk I've had here. Also, hearing that I need the physical copy of the two games gives me an idea. If any release of the games are accepted, I could get the Double Pack and be able to play the bonus levels as soon as I get them. However, for nostalgia sake, I'd like to play through the games themselves before the bonus levels.

I imagine any version of the games is fine, you should just need to have them installed on your PC to make use of the downloads. You should be able to get both TR and TR2 on play.com for around 3-4 quid each.

As for Tombraiders.net, I recognise that site before from when I was looking into the Tomb Raider Level Editor. I was wanting to design just a small level but the program was complicated and I wasn't sure if it did work in the end. Maybe my old computer couldn't handle it due to its resolutions but I did follow the instructions carefully and I still couldn't make my desired level. :( I guess I could give it a try sometime soon to see if it works better the second time round.

Ah the level editor. One day I will get round to making the level I always envisioned, which is basically a long corridor with lots of locked rooms leading off it. You start with a key that unlocks the first room, where you have to get past a trap or undergo a trial of some kind to get another key which opens another room and the sequence repeats until you get to the last room with the level end. One of those things I know I'll probably never get round to doing, and if I do I'll probably fail miserably, but at least I can always dream. You should have another go at it as well, maybe you'll have more luck this time.

Yeah, I put the effort into getting all secrets myself, even making many attempts to get the timing perfect for the slope secret in St. Francis' Folly and there was no special reward for all of this. Although Unfinished Business was released two years after TR1, it would have been nice if for getting all secrets, you were rewarded with additional levels to play through. That's why when I got Anniversary, I was hoping they put in the Unfinished Business levels for those who missed out on it back then.

Sadly I've found that video game developers usually don't live up to what is expected of them. Sure it would be nice if they did a little extra but they can get away with doing the minimum and they generally do.

Yeah, I felt sorry for him too but at least he's beaten the game and now it's seeing how he does with The Last Revelation. If he's able to beat it thoroughly, I will be amazed as I always stop playing half-way through.

Kinda drags on doesn't it? I remember thinking it was about damn time it finished about half way through as well. But I pressed on because I probably didn't have anything better to do at the time.

Although it's only been two years since I played through the trilogy, I feel it's time to give them another spin, most especially when I want to play the additional levels right now.

Count me in. I'm gonna start playing them over again as soon as I get round to it. I really need more free time...

I'm not much of an achievement whore. Sure, I have a lot of medals on Newgrounds and have a fair amount of achievements on Steam, most especially Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead and a few other games but I don't put an extreme amount of effort into getting all of them. I mostly play these games for enjoyment sake. The achievements I come across are a nice bonus. :)

I'm kinda in the middle. I only play the games I want to play (no renting easy games for the achievements) and I consider myself a casual gamer. I have a high gamerscore but I'm not competitive at all about it. My issue is that I'm quite obsessive/compulsive and I hate leaving things unfinished. Therefore I try my hardest to unlock all achievements in the games I play. I see it as a challenge, and I can't pass up a challenge.

That's a fair opinion on both consoles. I'm glad to hear you've given both consoles a fair chance as that's what the majority fail at doing. I'm not a fanboy myself since the only console from the latest generation I have is the Wii and there are several things I hate about it.

Like I said, I'm willing to look into the other consoles, although I'm more likely to get a PS3 as not only have I been a Playstation supporter for over a decade now but there are several games I want for the console and getting it would save my family from getting a blu-ray player. They've considered getting a HDTV for a LOOOOONG time now and the most they've done is getting a small one for their room. I actually have the money to get both a HDTV and a PS3 but I want to check which is the best HDTV for my room as I know it'll still be ages before my parents even consider replacing the ancient TV in the living room.

I'll still keep the 360 in mind but I won't consider getting one until I find more than enough games for the console.

I think it's important to be fair. I originally had an Xbox 360, a PS3 and a Wii but I only have the 360 now because the never got round to using the other two and they're far too expensive to just have lying around collecting dust. At the end of the day each console has it's good and bad points and it's just a matter of weighing up the differences and deciding which good points you're most interested in and which bad points will piss you off the least. I guess the same goes for the HDTVs. I chose mine by going to a store that had about 50 different ones all lined up and picking the one that looked like the best quality while still fitting into my size requirements and budget. I ended up with an LG 32" LCD and I haven't regretted it one bit.

A broad taste in music, I'll agree, but with the dislike of music by bands like Slayer, Manowar and Madonna, I feel that I'm merely going for the better music. I'm not a fan of Bob Marley, but his song "No Woman, No Cry" was brilliantly covered by Spunge.

Yeah, I'm too lazy to update that News Post :P

Jimi Hendrix
Led Zeppelin
Iron Maiden
AC/DC
Metallica
Reel Big Fish

I've just highlighted the pick of the list here - Which RBF albums do you have?

And so much more. I do have last.fm, but I usually listen to music on CD. The stuff on last.fm is mostly my summer playlist and other stuff I can't find in CD format.

Quite a diverse collection of music, but not as wide ranging as mine. Still, you've got some good music in the most listened to page :)

I know what you mean. I Really never payed to much attention to Michael Jackson. Well when he died i decided to go and buy some.....little did i know i would be spending over 20$ on a few of his albums ans some songs of choice.

I'd like to point out that I haven't gone and bought a Michael Jackson album since he died, as proper fans already had all of the albums of his they wanted before his demise :P

What has being older than me got to do with it? gfoxcook is older than Haggard and ReconRebel is older than most users on the site!

I am confident I will I am going to wake up right before midnight today and be prepared to F5 the flash portal. You many have a small lead but say good-bye to it.

Meh, if it's damage limitation over Cock Day, then I'll just stay as close as I can to you, in order to make the pass permanent at some point later in the year.
Oh it won't be permanent you will give up way before I do. I know that for sure.
Pfft.

Don't don't yourself, sprinters always get tired and give up. You are one, so I am just waiting. I have nothing but time and experience to get. And other statfag stuff you see.

Clock Day is an anomaly. It doesn't happen all the time and if I average more than you for the rest of the week, I've got a good chance of reeling you back in afterwards quite quickly.

The only game I thought was reasonable getting a 15 rating was the first just for the mutants later on and of course, the violence. :P

Or even better, both games for just £3 altogether. I decided to order one on Tuesday and once I get it, it'll be time to replay the games. :) Sure, I might have trouble installing them but I should be fine with the patches and such.

Now that sounds awesome. I'd love to see a level like that being made. Who knows, maybe there's already a level similar to that out there but it'd be great if you made a level yourself. :) I didn't want to do much with my level and all it would have been was facing Torso Beast, dragon and mutant spider at once. Due to WAD issues and such, it was really complicated to do. x_x My other option would be to face more than one Torso Beast at once.

You should have another go at it as well, maybe you'll have more luck this time.

Maybe I'll look into it soon enough. :)

Yeah, I felt The Last Revelation was too long. Too many filler levels, most especially the second half. If the game was around 1/3 - 1/2 shorter, it would have been more playable.

Therefore I try my hardest to unlock all achievements in the games I play. I see it as a challenge, and I can't pass up a challenge.

Yeah, challenges are good but I don't put the full effort into getting every single one. If I'm desperate to get some eventually, I'll try and get them some other time. The best examples are Team Fortress 2 achievements where there's a lot to get but I'm not that desperate to get every single one. The only ones I want right now are those that'll unlock additional weapons for me.

At the end of the day each console has it's good and bad points and it's just a matter of weighing up the differences and deciding which good points you're most interested in and which bad points will piss you off the least.

Exactly! :D All three consoles have their strengths and weaknesses and there really is no superior console. It all depends on which console has the best games for you.

Ah, so you finally decided to move on and get closer to your real retirement numbers. I thought you were just waiting for Wade to delete flagged entries so that you won´t overshoot your retirment numbers.

I thought I was safe to get more blam points. I did get a few blams since I stopped so I assume Wade did clear the flagged entries. However, I could do with stopping temporarily at 50 blams short and wait again.

But anyway, now that you almost stopped saving, why not go and settle a blam point record on clock day if you got some time left?

Nah, I'll take a break from the portal tomorrow. The rest of you can have fun with Clock Day but I'll just sit back and relax.
