It'll take work (nowhere near as much work as updating the entire list Dogma runs, of course), but sure, you can find that out.
Correct - but I don't want to know that desperately. At the last update there were two fast moving people just behind me, but there were an awful lot of new people that could have been going at any rate. Ah well, I think the quickies have gone by me now and I'm passing dormant people again.
There will ALWAYS be more fast-moving people, unfortunately AND fortunately at the same time. #;-}>
I don't have that option, because ramagi's exp list only extends to 100 and I'm up in the 300s, and while I could go through all the names on NGling's VP list and see if any of them have exp near my amount, that would be a total waste of time, plus I couldn't even be sure where on the list I should mostly search for profiles, as b/p bonuses skew everything on that list away from base VP and thus exp.
I'm sure it could be done with a bit of effort. The tricky ones are the people that don't have profiles, like MFAzoom who just deposited for 5,550 (above you I know but it's a case in point). There's also no way, as NG and Dogma have found, to check their b/p points or, as I've found, review count.
yeah. You know, even if someone doesn't have a profile, I firmly believe you should be able to click their name in a review list and see their reviews anyway. It's kinda silly to end up opening an e-mail to them instead when they don't have a profile, that bites.
I'm sure it would be pretty easy to get a fairly comprehensive list of the top 500 people in terms of experience, if you think about it. We already have the top 100, and once you've culled Newgrundling's list and anyone who's showing a baseball bat or above in the BBS, you'd probably have at least 80% of the list. With a bit of effort, you could get up to 95% I reckon, by trawling the recent deposit list. You can't stay quiet and keep depositing at the same time. Maybe something to do in the future.
Actually, you CAN stay quiet. For one thing, if you always deposit about halfway through the GG day, no one's going to notice unless they trawl 24 hours a day. Most depositing gets done in the few hours after the new GG day, or I suppose in some people's cases, before the old one ends. But the slow slow spot's in the middle, and thus if you can't check the list over and over again all 24 hours, that would be the time not to check it, and you're naturally going to miss SOME people, if not a lot.
Also, there may be very high people, say people I'm about to hit in the 200-300 range, that haven't deposited in months and months, have no posts, and have no profile. I'll bet there's more than you'd think. For one thing, when I was making the list of low id#s and people (see this link for what I'm talking about, it's an old thread: http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic.php?id=50659 )... there were tons of gaps in the list which means either deleted accounts or accounts with no profiles and no flash movies. And some of those people surely deposited some exp, since they'd been around since 1999 at least. Anyway.
My point was: That kind of effort is almost clinically insane for the purposes we're both talking about, though, that being to check what's taking so long on these 3 or 4 day stretches with no rank-climbing progress.
If I wanted to make the top 500 exp list, or the top 101+ since ramagi is doing top 100, then sure. But I don't. I've got enough list duties already (let's see... top 50 blams, top 50 saves, my little casual responses/reviews list, whereis/howto memberlist, and then there's a few b/p and exp related charts I've made and that id# list I just mentioned and so forth and so on).
Speaking of the b/p charts I keep, here were the approx stats (I only update this one every time I rank up, so it'll be updated again tomorrow or the day after when I hit EG Colonel at 17500... so freakin' soon):
Some approximate facts about blam/protect rank as of 20030902:
~ 29,000 people have more than 1 blam/protect point.
~ 24,000 people have more than 2 blam/protect points.
~ 21,000 people have more than 3 blam/protect points.

~ 1,150 people have more than 500 blam/protect points.
~ 950 people have more than 600 blam/protect points.

You were UOTD on the DAY BEFORE CLOCK DAY, BTW. Pretty awesome timing. I'm wondering if either this account or my alt will get UOTD by the end of the year. I'd say my chances are fairly good.
