Glorious, glorious day! Congrats, man. Enjoy her while she lasts... in all her bastardy glory.
I may be forgetting/twisting my sword name etymology, but was it not called a bastard sword because the hilt wasn't quite a 2-handed length hilt, and wasn't quite a 1-handed length hilt, and thus kinda 1.5-handed, and thus a "bastard" between the two proper lengths?

LA vs Orlando: 5 games (4-1)
Houston was 2nd place of 2009, AFAIAC. And might I mention that 2 out of 3 wins Houston had over LA in the hardest series they had to go through in the entire playoffs... we were without Yao Ming AND Tracy McGrady. Almost fucking BEAT their asses. Almost isn't good enough, but still. 7th game doesn't lie. We pushed them to the brink of elimination. It was win or go home for them too that night. No other team did that to them this year.
And yes, maybe Cleveland could have done it to them, but then why the hell didn't they take care of Orlando? Craziest result of the entire postseason, IMO. WTF were they doing... crazy Cavs.

So we'll see. How long do I have until I have to make a decision on gfox, I wonder. Also, I'll need to find a good # for him to stop at within the (current?) level 42 range.
If Pimp hitting level 60 fucks the whole exp world upside down, I'll have to resume depostering for gfox occasionally to keep him in the level 42 range, of course. I'm pretty sure the 4 min version is the original/default version, yes.
I don't think it's a very early version like the one you mention, at least.Take You Down. I see some comments claiming that it was a very early Achtung Baby try-out. Has bits and pieces from the solo´s of Lady with the Spinning Head, The Fly and Ultraviolet somewhere.

Holy shit. The music is almost identical to the 4 minute Lady... but the vocals... the two vox at once thing is very experimental, so it's no wonder THAT version of Lady never made it onto AB (still wish the final version had), and... I don't think the words are anywhere near as fun/cool sounding as Lady's... also, there's one spot in the song that really reminds me of another U2 song's lyrics... can't put my finger on it. May be another b-side, in fact. Ugh... can't figure it out.

A) it's your account, and you claim to LIKE 37, so what do I care if you retire on a number with 37 in it?
B) to me, the 7777 is far more a strong feature of that number than the 37 thousand part of it.
C) A number like 33,337 would be far worse to me. An actual 37 at the END of a number* (or a 37 on its own, of course, the very worst of all) is far far far worse than a number that just happens to have a 37 in the middle like a 423765, say, or your 37777 retirement number.

MORE CATCH-UP LATER TONIGHT, I'm down to just 6 pages of Wi/Ht? left (i.e. from around June 1st to now!).Ah, so there should be quotes to reply to below...
...
Where in that sentence did I say more catch-up HERE IN LUL, dude? I only posted in LUL because I had time for one post, wanted to mention my root canal, and thought it made more sense to pop in here quick and moan about it than do so in the pentalist topic, say.
I meant and fully intended that any and all catchup later on that day and in the coming days would be in other topics of Wi/Ht? first, not in LUL. That's why I mentioned the "6 pages of Wi/Ht? left," I mean I was up from like page 15 all the way up to page 6... earlier today I finally got down to page 2, BTW, and then into page 1, and... yes, now I am done once I finish with the LUL catchup, which I usually save for the very end, if I'm not just doing it on its own (like I was a couple weeks ago). LUL is always on page 1, so if I talk about being back on page 3 or 5 or 6 or whatever, that means I'm dealing with Q&A topics and stat/list threads with less activity than EGRL and LUL.

Yep. The other term was hand-and-one-half Sword, but it never really caught on. Since a mule is also termed a bastard, because it's neither a horse, nor a donkey. I think that's where the old English is derived.

Of course not. That's why they need bigger chainsaws, although that sounds like we're lumberjacks.Hah!
On second thought, we don't need chainsaws to cut down trees, we can do it ourselves.
Ah yes, I'll need to get working on that at the start of August. Not too far off, but still got to wait a bit. Before that happens, there's my hospital appointment to attend to at the end of June, my birthday on the 12th July...and possibly changing my name by deed poll to spite my parents.Your first name, last name, both...?
First name, but possibly last name as well.
What about middle?
I never saw the point in middle names and I never will.
Crazy stuff, man. Why would you want to spite them and specifically in that manner?
Because they're scumbags. The way my dad drinks far too much, snores so often without doing anything about it or apologising, my mum letting him do what he wants and worst of all, lying about what other people have done. The fact my mum lied about what one of my friend's dad did was despicable. I was thinking of getting my name changed then, but I'll make some preparations before going ahead with it. Oh, and by doing this, I'll possibly get kicked out of my house because my parents hardly believe in my freedom and only care about what they think and what they think is right.
Changing my name without telling them will see if they do believe in what I think is right and wrong or not. Why I wish to do this without telling them? Because there's been several moments where they didn't warn me about certain things and should have done so right away. I'm still offended that they never told me my sister and her boyfriend took a trip to Paris until the day they went. OK, maybe my sister should have told me, but my parents should have had the decency to tell me at least once. So yeah, they don't tell me these things but will go ahead with telling me so much crap that I don't fucking care about. I'm not a football fan, so what the fuck makes them think I fucking care about that stupid ass game?

And often they also play shit like Snap and other 90's hiphop/dance =/
Yeah, some AB would get played, too. And we have an 80s station as well, but they play so much 80s one hit wonders and even early 90s stuff that U2 doesn't get played too often. At least, not when I'm listening.
Indeed. Some of them are just downright terrible.
4-minute version might be the original then. Don´t think I´ve ever heard it.I'm pretty sure the 4 min version is the original/default version, yes.
Ugh... can't figure it out.I don't think it's a very early version like the one you mention, at least.Take You Down. I see some comments claiming that it was a very early Achtung Baby try-out. Has bits and pieces from the solo´s of Lady with the Spinning Head, The Fly and Ultraviolet somewhere.
And I'm not actually familiar with Wanna Take You Down. Stunner, I know. #;-}>
Well there is "Wake up dead man". And at 3:25 it sounds very similar to the intro of Ultraviolet although the lyrics are slighty different. But it´s the same melody.
For the rest I can hardly follow the lyrics because of two voices singing different things.
Don´t know many of the B-sides of U2 singles either, although I like Salome and right now I´m listening to Big Girls are Best which sounds really good. To my suprise it´s the B-side of Stuck in a Moment while it sounds like it comes straight from the AB era.
Anyway, wild. So glad they kept the music and changed the lyrics.
Yeah true, I didn´t like the lyrics that much either. Also the "ssshhhhh" in some of Bono´s vocals hurt my ears a bit =/ But that could be because of bad recording.
Anyway when searching for the song again, I found this. Seems like an even earlier version of the other take you down song. Although it doesn´t really sound the same.
You can hear some parts of Until the End of the World. And you can even hear Bono giving instructions to the band. Somewhere near the end at about 5:00 also seems to sound a bit familiar...
Anyway, it seems like they really wanted to have Take You Down on AB, but derived half of the album from that song instead.
$0 on PC. There will be a charge on XB360.Well, you COULD say that, but you have to remember that Valve keeps adding stuff to TF2 and changing how the classes work, and there's constantly new custom maps being made by TF2 players.Ah I see. Personally I don't like U2 at all, Bono especially. They'd be popular enough in Dublin (they own a lot of property in the city centre) but they're not my cup of tea, and a lot of others in the south would share my view. I respect them musically, but in my view they're a bit up their own arse about being the "biggest band in the world", although you could blame the Irish media for purporting that. I thoroughly enjoyed the Soth Park episode feautring Bono though: linky.

I'm not feeling like that. Because I hate Seinfeld and because of the hatred never watched it (yes, already the trailers where awful so I never turned in). >_>

I'MMMMMMMMMM AAALIIIVE!
Yay for lyrical references!
You should listen to more Blind Guardian then. :P
Coop already did the Pearl Jam lyrical reference. Your rendition right there sounds more like movie quotes than song lyrics to me, somehow. Very Charlton Hestonish. #;-}>
Hm, but Charlton Heston would be more like: "SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!" no?
Or more recently: "FROM MY COLD DEAD HANDS!!"

Right, O_O I'll see what happens then.
In other news, I just caught your Dick Neck reference because I just read the first 5 pages of the Dick Neck thread yesterday morning, so... heh. That one flew over my head back when I replied to ya. #;-}>Ah Dick Neck...good times...

Yeah, I'm still around. I was just so busy with work and it was just too much to do lists (plus it was getting a little mundane). I say 'was so busy' because I got laid off a few days ago.
Sucks, but ah well; I have some free time now. :/
