Granted, NG appeals to a wide age range, and a lot of new users are going to be starting in on the ground floor, age-wise, so to speak... every single year. But plenty of 20somethings and 30somethings find NG every year, too.
Many of the 99ers were 19 when they joined, so of course they wouldn't care... But anywho, I don't even remember who I was replying to with that bit up there, if it was to you then... uh... clearly we were already on the same page, so... yeah. #;-}>

Yeah, but I'm still not putting up the sorts of numbers that you put up in your heyday. I'm roughly about a 50/day average for B/P, but it's a struggle to maintain this pace :P
Most of my heyday was spent in useless pursuit of a 75 bppd average, meaning you're about where I was most of the time. It was pretty rare I ever hit 75-100 range, man.

There's at least one thread (and sometimes 2 or more) for just about every NG stat that gets mentioned here in LUL elsewhere on Wi/Ht?, so there's no need for LUL to really fill an "in-depth particular stat discussion" need... those threads serve just fine for specialised nerding out.
LUL was always about general discussion and short, simple, non-deep achievement exclamations. The codifying and assembly-line-ing of this into congrats lists and then thanks lists was as inevitable as the story of Ford motors' new industrial revolution.

Your suggestion has been noted. *looks around* No, we're going to stick with this, thanks anyway. At the end of the day, you don't have to like what the thread has evolved into. If you don't, an experienced poster such as yourself should know where the door is. This has been influenced over the years by the people who have frequented it and have contributed positively to the thread.I am saying this in an attempt to make this a better place for everyone, high level people and low level people alike. Just because it has with time turned into this it doesn't mean that it's the best thing. Actually, the reason it has changed is because of that different users has come and gone here, resulting in these changes over time, and in my opinion corrupting this topic, more or less.
There are two schools of thought on this one - if we didn't have the lists, we would have absolutely shitloads of people latching on to the latest achievement that someone has posted and going "OMG, you've done really well to get that many [stat]s" I'm no mod, but I'm sure that the LUL wouldn't have lasted a day without being locked, had that continued. It still functions as a perfectly good lounge and the lists are as much a part of it as the lounge itself. We've got a system that works to keep the spam down, so why persist with belittling us, for what we do of our own choice?

It's easy to say, yes. But why should I take my time to write lists if I wouldn't enjoy it?
Oh yeah, maybe a strange way of torturing myself or to get my postcount up... but there are much better ways for both.
Especially if you just write out a list identical to four others that just says the same thing, albeit in a different order, but that doesn't matter.
Well, the achievements we congratulate are the same, so the lists look the same, too.
See above, they are guidelines, not "strict rules" that you have to follow.I know they are called 'guidelines', but I was reacting to that it was posted directly as some kind of 'follow these or get out' rules right after someone shared an achievement.
But level ups like "Level 5" are just a matter of a few days and not noteworthy (in my opinion ;) ).
Yes, that was a bit rude, but sometimes people just get fed up with spammers who post things like "1 blam point!" or "$random_number posts!"
But like Auz said, this thread would be dead if no one would do any lists here. Maybe there are currently too many listmakers but on the other hand no one (except for a mod/admin) can tell other users to stop making lists.

I stated in 'my proposed guidelines' that people shouldn't post all kinds of achievements just to raise their postcount. That proposed guideline of yours isn't a bad idea, but by random achievements, the definition is likely to differ between one user to another and that's why I feel the guidelines we have right now are much better.

And there are still some other discussions going on so it kinda helps making this topic serve like a regulars lounge as well.It used to work like that people shared achievements they were happy about, and discussions about those were often integrated in a constantly ongoing bigger discussion. Now it's almost as if they've been split, like the lists are irrelevant to the discussions and they have little to do with eachother.
Although I do not really like the idea of the made-up guidelines either, I do think we should keep the congrats lists or something similar in this topic.Sure, lists are fine, but not how they work now. Now, to most, they simply work as lists summing up 'accepted achievements' people have shared. I don't see my username mentioned in a list I knew from before I was going to be mentioned in as a 'congratulation'. You could make a bot to do that automatically for you, sum up every achievement and add them to a list.
It's just mindless listing, without care or thought, that's what I'm saying. Sometimes someone adds a comment or two next to the achievment, it's a little better but it's still far too bad. It should be more about the fun with leveling up, achieving different Newgrounds stats and discussing them with fellow Newgrounds and less about just acknowledging achievements in mindlessly compiled lists.
Like gfoxcook already said, there are seperate topics for every stat already. So if you really wanna talk about your achievements you can always go to those topics. Personally I see this place more like a regulars lounge, just like all the other forums on NG have theirs.
And I stay with my opinion that this place would actually become more mindless without the list making. Of course we could stop the list making and could keep on discussing about "off-topic"-subjects, but there are probably gonna be thousands of posts in between with people who mention about every 100th post they get and other lame stuff that everyone achieves daily.
In that case I think this topic would kinda split up, so we might as well create a real regulars lounge and leave this topic for the "I just reached level 3!"-stuff (which would probably get locked for excessive spamming after a few weeks). I think the lists kinda connects both these things, making it sort of a regulars lounge and a place to celebrate your achievements.
True, it may all seem a bit robotic on the outside, but at least people read achievements which is better than endless strings of "Top 100,000 Experience" and such.

U2 - Zooropa, Daddy´s gonna pay for your crashed car, Dirty Day, The Fly, Ultraviolet
I think Achtung Baby my favourite U2 album actually. And indeed, Ultraviolet is an awesome song, and I doubt many non-U2 fans know it which is too bad. Most U2 fans I know do love it, but I agree that it is kinda underrated for such a great song.
And so is Dirty Day from Zooropa. One of my faves
Dirty Day is another great song indeed, but the Zooropa song is my personal favourite from the Zooropa album. A song that I personally find very underrated.

Well, you can always move it all the way to the bottom of your profile page, thanks to that handy lay-out button Tom gave us.

It's going to be a while before I get my next B/P milestone :P
Woe to You Oh Earth and Sea
for the Devil sends the portal with wrath
because he knows the time is short
Let him who hath understanding
reckon the blam-count of the beast
for it is a human number
its number is six hundred and sixty six.
I lived alone, my mind was blank
I needed time to think to get the memories from my mind
What did I see? Could I believe? That what I saw
that night was real and not just fantasy
Just what I saw in my old dreams were they
reflections of my warped SWF files staring back at me?
'Cause in my dreams it's always there the evil face that twists my mind
and brings my UJ Flash to despair
Night was black was no use holding back
'Cause I just had to see was someone watching me
In the mist dark figures move and twist
was all this for real or just some kind of hell
6-6-6 the blam-count of the Beast
Hell and fire was spawned to be released
Spam animations blazed and sacred chants were phrased
as they start to cry hands held to the sky
In the night the fires are burning bright
the ritual has begun, the Blammer's work is done
6-6-6 the blam-count of the Beast
Sacrifice is going on tonight
This can't go on I must inform the Lord
Can this still be real or just some crazy dream?
but I feel drawn towards the chanting hordes
seem to mesmerise...can't avoid their eyes
6-6-6 the Blam-count of the beast
6-6-6 the one for you and me
I'm coming back I will return
And I'll possess your Flash and I'll make it burn
I'll have the fire I'll have the force
I'll have the power to make my zero take its course
In case you didn't catch on, I have 666 Blams.
I really suck at modifying lyrics.
Didn't realize how close I was until now.

I will be somewhat inactive for a few days because I'm in exams. However I will come here to only deposit my exp and, possibly, make another LUL list.
Flu-Watch, Da-ah fuck it, I'm getting tired of doing this (and I'm sure you're all tired of listening to me bitch about it ;P). Basically I still have a bit of a cough.
Also, the Watchmen flash that won Daily Feature yesterday was awesome. Now I gotta find time to read the last 4 chapters of it before I go see the movie.
P.S. Anyone who spoils what I am told is one of the most shocking and incredible endings ever dies. Haha, just kidding. But seriously though...

You might be, but equally you may very well not be.
When I cracked the top 1,000 recently, I was sat at rank #999 for about 3-4 days without moving up or down... so you might have a similar story for rank #1,000.
Congrats nevertheless.

Yeah, that and the anthology of Scary Door - I love those episodes :)

I don't have much poetic licence when we're talking about the symbiolism of some of the shitty copycat jokes that come along with these spam flash, you know :P
I think we all klnow that I could write better jokes than that myself, with a broader design brief.

Yeah, I would guess it's your ISP unless you have some exotic connection going on. I assume that you let Windows automatically chose your IP, etc, etc. Does the errors occur during peak hours, would you say?
On another note, this is the first alt that I seen that has less Exp than me. lol
