Multiple refreshes didn't work on theirs. I tried that as I was diddling around with various media and firewall options trying to see if there was anything it could be.

Now that you posted, I'm reminded that I've never had a problem with your sig not being animated. Maybe it's whatever WarMachine is using to make those sigs I'm having compatability problems with. It shouldn't be an issue since they are all .gifs, but it another possibility.

Oh yes, indeed. There are many different types of teh animatories.

I noticed this ever since I started saving some cool animated sigs and pictures that people posted on the BBS. Some of them, when I open them with VuePro (my default image viewer), open on frame01 or whatever of the image, and I can hit spacebar to move to the next frame (instead of to the next image in the folder, which is what spacebar usually does), and so on, to the end of the animation.

But some animated gifs are just loaded as regular images by vuepro, it doesn't recognise the frames within them. For those, if I wanna see 'em I have to drag 'em onto an IE window and open 'em that way.

I forgot to ever post this pic, and posting the one of Dogma and I next to each other on the 50 most recent deposits reminded me!

but if you recall the Great Recon/gfox B/P Race (as you dubbed it! #;-}>) of a few pages ago, I was noticing we had 14428 at the same time, 14429, 14430, 14431, 14432, and 14433. And not only that, but of course, were getting a blam when the other guy got a blam on the same thing, a save at the same time as a save, and so on....

but what's remarkable about that screenshot of us both at 14433, aside from the fact that it's not faked, and actually was on the top 50 combined list for 7 hours on the 18th, that is....

is that Recon stopped getting points for about 36 hours AT THAT NUMBER. In other words, the automated top 50 process happened RIGHT after he hit 14433 and stopped for the night (and his weekend), but BEFORE the next blams and saves that I was getting poured in.

It wans't until yesterday that he finally bumped up a bit from 14433 to 14436, but has remained there for awhile now.

In the meantime, I've added a cool 200 onto my total, coming up just about to 14636 in a a few minutes.

But in all of that drama... I'm not even sure Recon noticed! I mean, he'd already stopped posting in level up! when I started, so... heh. I guess we'll find out within a day, as his weekend shall be ending.

I've stayed up too late, but it was fun. Lots of posting, good blams and saves.... 200 point cushion 'tween me and Recon... and the distance between me and Stormwarden is rapidly closing. I'll have that 8 spot within 4 weeks, I think.

I think he's alluding to the fact that I copied out his sig in IE and Net while testing stuff. The IE copy isn't animated. The Netscape copy is O_o

Main: Athlon 1.2GB, 384 RAM, Radeon 7K, IE6, WinME

Backup: Athlon 1GB, 320 RAM, on-board PoS vid card, IE6, Win98SE

The PC my nieces use is Pent4 1.4GB, 256 RAM, on-board vid card, IE6, WinXP

I can't imagine why my PC would think it's running out of memory, but I'll run through some tweaks and see if that does anything useful. Neither the tweaks I do, nor anything I do to the video card should have an effect. What's really bugging me is that Netscape shows them as they should be, so the problem should be some kind of conflict between IE and WinME ... just haven't managed to nail it down yet.

I think it might have something to do with it being well drawn, but not really having a story line/action. Like we get to see all of the characters and equipment, but they don't do a heck of a lot.

As a stand-alone piece it lacks anything to really draw the audience into it except for the small group, like yourself, who actually remember those toys. It's great as an intro to a series or something. Make up a story line like something along the lines of GI Joe or maybe something more relevant these days like tracking down small terrorist cells. If you go the latter route, I'd like to see both foreign and domestic cells catching the short end of the stick ;)

It was nothing more than an intro, an "OP", an opening sequence meant to look like the openings to cartoon shows.
In other words a trailer without me actually having to say "trailer", and if I died or otherwise were not able to make anymore, there is not the "coming soon" promise of a trailer. ~_^

For no plot other than the bits and pieces revealed in the intro (and the fact that I am not an art-school grad and draw with a glitchy, dying ball mouse) I accept 3.00 as fair. My next luxury purchase is a tablet, allowing me to do "onion skinning" FBF without it being too tedious, and with the voices and a story I hope my first real episode will be wearing Blue.
