WHILE COMBING THROUGH TOPIC, gfox began to think no one noticed his TINY LITTLE (for him, anyway) achievements post near the bottom of the previous page. OH EMM GEE.
BUT THEN... there was light:

Heh. But you don't applaude the "solo player" more when you're watching a band live, do you?
I always applaude for the whole band, as a solo is nothing without a song where said solo fits in. ;)
Sometimes people do clap after a solo. Whether or not that can be heard over the rest of a band kicking back in kinda depends on the genre of music, yanno?
For instance: applause after a jazz solo... would be audible.
Applause after a metal solo... not so much.
Either way, applause for entire band... after the song itself. Everyone gets teh luffs.
...
anywho. CATCH UP TIMES.

Congrats on teh BrigGen! My fave pre-redesign b/p rank badge, love teh single-star general! And yes, 1984... a fine year indeed, for so many reasons. Music, film, and most importantly.... allusions to teh Orwell.
Thanks. And yes, 1984 is a fine year. But most of all I connect 1984 with Orwell's story. That's why I wrote "ZOMG!". If Orwell hadn't written the novell (or named it differently) I propably would have written only "OMG!" ^^
It's also the year Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories is set, and thus either the exact year of (or year or two after, at most) a lot of great music in that game.

Not quite as much QUANTITY on those other days as on Clock Day, though.
But it will build up on quantity over the years, I'm afraid.
You really think the other days will grow to rival teh Clock Day on a year by year basis, or you just mean over time, cumulative compounding = they'll be massive in their own rights, over time?
Level up on Clock Day? Holy shit, that's awesome. I don't think that's ever happened to ANY of my accounts, man. That's epic.
Maybe I can even rank up in B/P ranks on that day. ^^
Double epic.
But I think it's very unlikely that I hit EGSC on clock day. I still have OVER 9,000!!!!!... er, i mean over 10,000 B/P to go.
That's a lot. That's AT LEAST 100.
Jeez. If a championship that covers an entire year... 365 days of TEH WIN for a team.... doesn't last forever in a fan's eyes.... then what the hell is the point of winning one?
You can rub it IN THE FACE of your opponents. "I AM TEH WINNAR!". ;)
If you want, but it's more about the shared pride of a small group of "us against the world!" folks.
Of course I am happy when my favorite team wins a championship, but it IS worth nothing when the next season is running. Your opponent won't give you a head start just because you are the current champion. ^^
No, but nothing your opponent does to you the NEXT year can take that championship away.
It could diminish it a bit if you suck total ass the very next year, of course.
But maybe my thoughts about this subject are a bit different, because my favorite team in german sports is Bayern München which happens to be the most successful team in german football history (ie they win a title nearly every year. ^^)
You damned Yankee fan. #;-}>
See, I totally predicted your response. #;-}>
Sometimes I am very predictable in my actions, I guess. ^^
Heh.
I told you Spain deserved to win teh Euro Cup last week, but you were all "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO," and now you agree with me. Oh well. #;-}>
Hey, I didn't say Spain didn't deserve to win, I said Germany doesn't deserve to win LESS than Spain. ;)
Ah yes. Thanks for correcting me. #;-}>
Sorry your team didn't win it, but I gotta be happy for teh Spanish fans, man. That's why I was rooting for their team, so they could get some championship time. Share and share alike.
Ah well, so Germany has to win the World Cup 2010, I guess... it would be pretty cool. Placed 3rd in 2006, second in 2008... and 1st in 2010! :D
That'd be great! I think they should have won in 2002 as I think I already said. So they're definitely overdue.

And yep... 36.... mmm... just half a decade away, at long last.
Will it be the best year of your life? Only time will tell.
Hopefully, best two years of my life.
(when I turn 35, I will officially be living the "36th year of my life," after all... and then when I turn 36, I'll get to be 36 for a whole year)
....
NO ONE BETTER SAY WHAT YEAR OF MY LIFE IT WILL BE WHILE I'M 36. IF YOU DO... OH MAN... YOU'LL BE SORRY.
(kinda like how when it's the year 3600 through 3699, or 3601 thorugh 3700, depending on which way you do centuries (the pop culture way or the mathematically correct way), even though the year numbers will be RICH WITH 36s, it'll be the 37th century. ;_;)
Dude, this is kinda starting to get old. When I hit multiple achievements within a 48 hour period, I tend to just make one post about all of them at once. #;-}>
LOL. Thing is, I wasn't really paying attention at the time. I knew that it was my NG birthday, but I didn't know how many posts I was going to make, or how much B/P I'd get, so I just made a post for each achievement as it came along.
Haha... yeah. But it's totally similar to how most people on NG post in topics. Just posting a single reply to a single post every time they think of something new to say, rather than piling it all up into our epic multi-quote replies, that's all. I couldn't help but notice and then harp on it. What, you'd rather I just let it slide? THAT'S SO NOT LIKE ME. #;-}>
BUT CONGRATS ANYWAY, YA BIG POSER. #;-}>
You love my poserish ways gfox, don't you DARE deny it.
SOMETIMES.
And neither of you is as forgiving as me. #;-}>
I could possibly believe that, although I've never seen your unforgiving side before.
That's because it doesn't come out on NG very often.
But all I meant is that when people are posting stupid achievements in here like... oh, 20 blams! or ... 100 PMs! or things like that, other people besides me (often Coop, Bahamut, you, Haggard) get a lot more upset than me. I tend to not care as much when teh noobs do that in here.
I have a much different attitude when it comes to noobs being mean to other noobs in general question threads out in the wider Wi/Ht?, however. Much less forgiving when it comes to that sort of thing, because there is a victim in those cases.
Spammy shit in teh LUL doesn't really victimise anyone, except us oldies and our time and patience, but we're tough... we can take it, right?
Anyway, turns out that the kid I was originally addressing that to decided to try and resume his shitty posts in the C&C regulars lounge (another of my BBS hangouts), so the forgiveness is still a long way off.
OH DEAR.
