I guess you could say I've liked U2 since 88, but only really came to know them and be a fan in 1993 (which is when I heard Pride on a TV advert for the "In the Name of the Father" movie and found out from a friend at school what album it was from... he thought it was either War or Unforgettable Fire, I ended up buying both CDs, and of course discovered I already knew some of the songs on War fairly well, and that the very next album was hiding what would become my favourite U2 song, track #2 on Unforgettable Fire.... I got Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby and Boy and October and Rattle and Hum and Zooropa within a few months of that discovery, and the rest is history).
