Now THAT would be a great idea. But no, not exactly. It was made well before the whistle system was. No garbage or saint whistles. Can't remember the whistle colors. I'm pretty sure they're all red, actually, it's just the color of the spotlights above them that change, but... maybe I'm wrong. in any event, they aren't the silver, gold, etc. that we're now familiar with, just regular primary colors.

Based on your signup date, and estimating that you've been here for around 2 years, - 1 month and - 2 weeks, you'd have around 6850 exp, which would be a lot, and probably top 100 or a bit outside of it, yes.

But comfort yourself. At least you didn't sign up when I did (February 2000) and slack even MORE than you did (which I did), putting you at only 3000 exp instead of the 12740 you'd have if you'd been depositing all along (which is my case, sadly).

And I have whistled one and exactly one movie. Ever. The whistle song was pretty neat. And I have gotten the blam animation once, and exactly once. That was classic - "You have destroyed someone else's hard work."

er... well, I can't check your profile to see how many blam points you have, but... I have 14,100 points, and of those, only 130 or so were blam animations or savior screens. Less than 1%, in other words.

*sigh* only 30,000 more blams/protects until #1... I'm not even havfway to a level up there.

Yep. I was checking the portal every 15 minutes or so while updating the top 50 lists (took about 3 hours today, I'm so freakin' tired). Racked up like 30 points. Beautiful stuff.

Almost makes me wanna stay up, pull an all nighter. But I'm a tired boy. Better not. Hope clockday flashes are still being submitted when I wake up, though.

Can someone "in the know" tell me what time the experience rank updates each day? I'm trying to work out how I managed to lose a ranking place today despite depositing. I'm guessing it's down to me depositing on Thursday about 3 hours earlier than usual, before it updates (so I'd have 20pts done from the Wed-Thu update, and 0 from the Thu-Fri update). If my theory isn't correct (which would put the update between 3 and 5am EST), I'm very confused :-)

Experience and BP rankings are both recalculated at 8:35am GMT.

The server "day" starts at 5am GMT.

We had a number of brownouts roll through here starting at 4:11. At the first flux I got my PCs off and it was right before the power crashed. Continued to have major fluxes, including a few 1/2 second bits with zero power, for a couple hours so I just stayed off to keep from frying anything. By the time I got up everything was stable.

I don't think I can live without any power... I would probably die before it came back on. I like to live in air conditioned places and go on the computer and I play some video games and everything else that I always do every day. =)

Living without power is NOTHING - try living without heating for a couple of days. Got back to uni after the christmas break and the pilot light had gone on our boiler. Couldn't get it fixed for a couple of days over the weekend. We could see our breath. Inside. Great fun that was :-)

3-4 hours out of the city, depends on how much of a hurry I'm in and which route I take. The Matrix is in Brooklyn, so I basically have to cut across Manhattan. Syme's trying to talk me into going to Naturalized, which is only like 90 minutes from here, but it makes me take the long way to get to the city ~shrug~ dunno yet.

NG is being affected by the power grid hiccups as they try and restart New York. There's the occasional glitch with an outage here and there, but otherwise NG is running smoothly.

I could get NG in the morning UK time, but not for most of the afternoon, but it's been OK since about 8pm BST. I think it was down, as there was no BBS posts for the relevant spell.
