I just tried to be sarcastic/funny. But it seems as if I failed.
I'm saying that he died tragically early and we miss his great song writing and vocals.
Katharine Hepburn died at age of 96, but she was good nevertheless ;) .Not all the good die young, but exclusively good people seem to die at an early age. The only exception I can think of is Hitler, but that's only due to suicide.
I still don't think that "only the good die young" is a correct phrase. It may just seem that way, because some "stars" died at an early age and they are well remembered (James Dean, River Phoenix, etc.). But there are a lot of "bad" people who too died at an early age (Jesse James for example. Whether this is a good example or not I don't know ^^).
Also, a lot of those good who died young died because of their own fault (River Phoenix od'd, etc.).
