Whether I'd think it reasonable or not would depend on how you felt about it. If you changed your username (for whatever reason) with the intention of changing back to your old one later on, and if I then snatched that one while you weren't looking (so to speak), and if I then refused to give it back to you when you asked me to, and if you then publicly bemoaned the fact that I stole your name... yes, of course it would be reasonable to expect backlash then (lots of backlash, in fact).

But if you changed your username, saying "I don't care about the name 'gfoxcook' anymore, I want a new one", and if I then later on came along and said "oh, hmm, this name's available now, and he doesn't want it anymore" and took it, and if you then reaffirmed in public (that is, here in the LUL thread) that yes, you indeed didn't want it anymore and that you still don't want it and that you have no problem at all whatsoever with me using it now... then no, I wouldn't consider any backlash to be reasonable.

And while the above may not be exactly what happened here, the fact is that the ONE person who actually would have a right to complain - Molotov, aka the "old" X-Naut - not only doesn't complain but in fact seems perfectly fine with the current situation, with the fact that he's got a new name, and with the fact that his old name was taken by someone else. So no, I don't think the backlash is reasonable.

Of course, if others - such as you or Bahamut7 - disagree, that's fine, too. :) Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but I still don't think it's reasonable to berate the "new" X-Naut for it all now, and - even more importantly - I don't see the point of it, either. Molotov doesn't care; that should really be the end of the story.

If anyone SHOULD be blamed, it's probably Tom and the rest of the crew for not disallowing username changes right from the start. ;)
