It's really hard to describe, actually - the best description I could come up with is that the places he visited seemed boring, lifeless and numb. You'll have to read it for yourself, though.

However, things actually seem to have changed; I continued reading, and he left the midwest by now and arrived in the south, and for the most part, everything seems nicer now. But then, I'm still far from finishing the book, so I don't know what else will happen. :)

The latter four are definitely attainable, although they might take a few years. :) Level 25 is probably out of reach forever for all of us who're not in the 20s already, anyway. :P (Of course, all that's ignoring the pending introduction of the new levels...)

I personally like 27 the best, with 20 and 25 being close runners-up. If I keep on depositing every day, I could reach level 20 in early 2010, too (x.x), but again, that's ignoring the new levels, so I have no idea what I'll actually end up with then.

I think this is not really an accomplishment in *that* sense - in order to say "it's amazing what (US-)Americans can do", there'd have to be some intent and skill involved. In this case, it was pure chance, although it's still an interesting story, of course. :)
