It really doesn't matter, but I would say that 6,753,965,878 is much bigger than 6,589,235,003. The proportions doesn't change the fact that the difference is big. But it really doesn't matter.

I think that's a really strange way of looking at it. Would you say that 200.0000001 ml of water is "much" more than 200 ml? Taking your reasoning, your should, since the difference is (very roughly, and modulo errors I introduced) 75 trillion water molecules. That's quite a bit, isn't it? Certainly much, much more than the difference between 6753965878 and 6589235003.

But you probably wouldn't say that 200.000001 ml are much more than 200 ml, and the reason is that the absolute number is meaningless - it's only the relative increase that counts. And there, you only have an increase of about 0.5x10^-6 percent, which really isn't much.

And if you think that this is a contrived example because 0.5x10^-6 percent is such a small number... then that only emphasises my point. ^_~
