War of the Portal - Part 4
25 - “Finale”

The King of the Portal froze as his heart began to race, realizing that someone had taken opportunity of attempting to destroy the core of his world. The perfect opportunity had arrived for the Gods, who arranged themselves around the monster built structure, quickly raising their hands and roaring in Ancient; ‘Delta Force’. A triangular beam of light erupted before them as every single submission that surrounded the King erupted in a ball of scarlet red flame. From the smoke of a million deaths came a roar as a halo powered King fell downwards, diving towards the heart of the world. At once, the Gods had realized they had killed the King, who was not ready to leave the world. The three moved together as they sent threads of gold down the hole where the King went. Time was short.

Piconjo stepped forward as he smiled while holding his flame. He stared at the group, who whimpered and continued to move backward towards the red stone as they stared at the submission in fear.
“You lose here,” smiled the demon. “All hopes you have built are just a waste.”
He raised his arm as he stared upwards, growling at the gigantic threads of crimson that came downwards towards him.
“Unfortunate I cannot kill you. But the weight of these threads will crush you.” At once, the demon that they had spent so much of their time attempting to defeat faded in a blast of smoke.
“What does he mean the threads will crush us?” asked RedCircle as he raised his eyebrows at the shadow that continued to intensify in darkness. Looking upwards, he saw a mass of crimson slowly move towards the group. “Oh.”
The group moved to the wall where Kiba stood forward raising his hands up, creating pink threads from his fingertips. “It makes sense now,” the boy said. “All of it.”
“What do you mean?” growled Marcus.
“The Heart of the Portal,” said Kiba; “Is the core of this world. When Gfoxcook had the intention to destroy it, some form of security defence must have kicked in. But what’s more is that the threads that protect the Portal are veins of the Heart!”
“What the hell are you talking about?” Recon said as he stared at the huge worms of threads attempt to touch them.
“The Heart,” repeated the kid; “Is the core of this world. Blood from the heart – thoughts and possibilities are pumped into the veins – the threads. These threads react with soulless submissions – the ghosts, to form life. Those submissions that have unworthy thoughts stay in the Portal or are killed. Those worthy are permitted to fly to the heavens as ‘Holy Ones’, the submissions that keep a balance of the world. Of course!”
“Of course bloody what?” Qwoxyl moved even closer to the walls as the threads continue to lash under the weight of Kiba’s final strength.
“The Heart of the Portal was not designed to create imbalance! It was only because the King wanted to set Omega on the world! The Heart became corrupted and grew more twisted thoughts, creating more ‘unworthy submissions’! So it ends here. I am not losing to a corrupt King like that!” At once, Kiba’s fingertips glowed as the minute sized threads flew upwards, preventing the ones from above from crushing them increased in size as Kiba roared with all his might.

The King continued to dive downwards, boring a vertical hole into the rocks. He had no time to dodge anything as he and all submissions could die any second. These foolish mortals should had been stopped from the very start. Landing on the marble ground, he looked at the thousands of threads that had wrapped themselves around the heart, creating a cacoon of defence. He glanced to his side as he saw Piconjo who had a slumped head. He knew what happened – reading a mind was not a difficult ability. His teeth shone as he growled at the servant.
“Stop the threads from above! I’ll take care of this!”
Piconjo nodded as he waved his hand forwards, sending a partition of the threads to soar upwards to capture the golden wires. All but one moved towards the King, who fired a ball of molten gold through the threads, which tore a hole through the massive power. He saw the others huddled together at the other side as he gasped, looking behind to see the thread a foot from his ankle.

The group gasped, defenceless from the ball of death a few feet away, moving inches at a time.

The Gods sweated as they forced their power, ready to stop the King for for the last time.

Piconjo sent a single thread, which was ready to stop the golden one, which had snuck past him, the single thread that was ready to destroy the King who had a golden halo above his head.

Gfoxcook tore himself away from the veins as he screamed with all his might, filling his body with the Power. He charged forwards and filled his hand with the ultimate strength of destruction. A golden thread burst from his finger tip, ready to finish the heart.

Time froze throughout the universe as the ball of golden flame stopped short before a wide gaped Kiba. The King stood frozen with his palm raised, his head staring at the golden thread behind him in horror. Piconjo stood with a final expression of determination as the single thread of crimson had managed to tie itself around the God’s power, ready to stop it. Gfoxcook stood motionless as his energy of gold was only a few molecules away from the heart. Time gave birth once again as Gfoxcook’s power made contact. At once, all that came from the heart vanished in that single instant.

It was over, the Heart had been destroyed.
