Welcome, to the second edition of the Regulars List.

After talking it over with RedCircle, it has been decided that the Wi/Ht Members Vs. Mods thread should be discontinued and locked, which he has agreed to do himself. The reason? It's just too "off topic" in its current state.

Originally, the thread was a way to pit the stats of the users on the Members List against those of the users who were moderators. Eventually, the topic grew and became popular. RedCircle would often post the complete Members and Mods lists and everyone would enjoy the stat comparison. Well, eventually RedCircle decided to create the Regulars List, arranging a system similar to that of the Members system, except made to be much more dynamic and current. After much confusion, the Regulars List balanced out and began running smoothly. Eventually, the expansion increased until there were the BBS Mods List, the Review Mods List, the Audio Mods List, the Members List, and the Regulars List. RedCircle found the Review Mods and Audio Mods lists too troublesome to deal with and they were eventually discontinued. Everything continued to run smoothly, until certain events occured that made RedCircle lose a lot of his interest in the lists (mainly the Nerf By Wade attack on Wi/Ht and the Spring update for the Members List). Well, the Members and Mods list were discontinued (from RedCircles's use that is) and he was ready to give up on the Regulars List as well due to the severe amounts of strain and stress he was receiving from work and computer troubles.

Tom_s00 tried his best to keep the elections running and manage to get the June election and July voting completed. The July election didn't run smoothly, many Regulars hadn't even noticed that the elections has really taken place. Well, at this point we were halfway through the month without an update, the thread was basically dead. So I asked RedCircle to pass on control of the Regulars List updates to me, and that's where we are now. Well, I saw that now the list is kicking back up again a new start was needed, and thus, I created this thread.

The Wi/Ht Regulars List.

This thread will solely deal with the Regulars List, and not be overshadowed by the Mods, Members, etc... lists. This new thread shall now now be the home of the Regulars List. I shall be in control until RedCircle decides he's ready to take control back. It may be next month, it may be next year, but the Regulars List was still RedCircle's original idea and thus he deserves ownership, I am merely bringing this list back onto its feet and running smoothly and on time again.

Now that the list has been recreated for its new revived form the rules and other explainations shall be listed.

1. If you are new to the Wi/Ht, you can become a member: IN TIME. Be patient, don't post asking to be made a member, that won't get you added into the ranks. Instead, post around in the Wi/Ht until you have a good feel of the community, and in time you WILL be noticed by the regulars and will most likely be added to the list when elections take place.

2. If you are listed on the Wi/Ht Members List then you cannot become listed on the Regulars List (this also applies to those listed inactive/retired).

3. If you are a mod/admin, then you can become a Regular. There is no discrimination based on one's status as a normal user, a moderator, or an admin (aka, if for some reason liljim decides to devote a few hours a day posting in the Wi/Ht then he could become a Regular just like anyone else who posted here often).

4. All voting shall take place through E-MAIL. Posting your votes or using a messanger to place your votes is not acceptable. You can't post your votes for obvious reasons (well, hopefully they're obvious). The reason I don't want to handle voting through an instant messanger is because there is no solid saved proof of your votes, I could easily (and probably would) forget them.

5. Inclusion Votes: Inclusion votes are set up in the following format during e-mail voting. Each Regular gets 3 votes of which one is worth 3 points, one is worth 2 points, and one is worth 1 point. Whichever "Potential" recieves the most points is added to the list on the update. All Regulars must use all of their inclusion votes if they choose to use one, it's either all 3 votes or no vote.

6. Out Vote: This vote is optional and isn't often used. This is used when the Regulars feel that one among the ranks has fallen in activity and isn't really a Regular anymore. Every election each Regular recieves one optional exclusion vote and when one person recieves 3 or more exclusion votes then they are retired. If more than 1 person recieves over 3 exclusion votes then whoever recieves the most is excluded. Other situations, such as ties, shall be examined by RedCircle and I and a suitable outcome shall be obtained.

7. Potentials: These are users who have been active recently in the Wi/Ht forum and meet the requirements to be added to the Regulars List. These users are added to the Potentials List which is what the Regulars choose from to use their Inclusion Votes.

8. Voting begins on the following days depending on the month, unless stated otherwise:
January 24th
Febuary 21st
March 24th
April 23rd
May 24th
June 21st
July 22nd
August 22nd
September 23rd
October 24th
November 23rd
December 24th
This way there are 8 days to vote, giving plenty of time for Regulars to check through the Potentials activity and made a decision on who is the most worthy. The summer months; June, July, and August--give 10 days to vote due to summer vacations and etc.

9. The updates shall always be posted on the first of each month, unless other circumstances arise. These include e-mail problems and other mishaps that can occur, nothing is perfect after all.

10. Retired Regulars may be revoted onto the list, but not the following month that they were retired. Example: If I am voted off for this August update, I may not be readded to the list for the September update. This rule also applies for a newly voted Regular being voted off.

11. Ties in election shall be broken up by sign-up date unless stated otherwise.

If there are any other things that are unclear then ask and I shall explain.

Welcome to the 3 new members: DonDoli, iscruLz, and FrostBreath. Throughout the whole election it appeared as if we were only going to need 1 member added. But silly old gfoxcook has to make his update right before mine. Thus when I saw -Mazza- and Tom_s00 voted onto the Member List I realized this list must remain populated. DonDoli and FrostBreath should be quite pleased. Had -Mazza- and Tom_s00 not been added to the Member List then they might have had to deal with the cruel fate of being nudged out.

Once again Rooty-The-Pie receives 2 out votes. Had one more person voted for him he would have been removed. Yet, for now, his presence shall linger on this list, unless he specifically e-mails me asking to be removed of course, which any Regular can do at any time. Please, if you feel you aren't worthy of Regular status anymore feel free to remove yourself. EKRegulus also got an out vote surprisingly.

That shouldn't be a surprise when you consider the fact that I requested several times to be removed from the regulars' list but most users ignored my posts. If Tom was still taking care of this list, I would probably be gone because I told him to remove me on RG's profile comments and he gave me a positive reply. I also stopped to post regularly here so I don't see why most voters think that I'm still active. O_o Most of the pts that I gain are from depositing and voting underjudgement submissions.

Even though you guys continued to update this list and the members' list, I stopped caring about the lists since the death of the stats lists (top 500 voting power, EGRL, single listed pentalist, top reviewers, total lister, etc.). The only list that didn't lost my interest is the modified pentalist.

I can see this list/thread is now firmly under control, Amir that was possible the best launch post i have ever read in my BBS life (lol) seriously props to you for that.

I think i was given membership at the worst time possible, now i don't get to be part of this sweet list :( ahhh well i wil deffinatly be checking in here every month and keeping track of whats going on.

Well I don't know about reviews, that's iffy for right now. Posts I've got covered and soon blams. But yeah, Wadolf is cleaning alot out of the portal as of late.

I'd like to be taken off of the Regulars list, please. One of the things I like about the Regulars list is the fact that it's up to date with current Wi/Ht activity, and I'm in the same boat as EK; my activity levels here started dropping the day the list threads (particularly the EGRL and NGTL) died (no offence to gfox or ramagi and their lists), and now I'm practically never in here. So, I don't deserve a place on the list.
Congratulations to the three new regs, it's good to see that Wi/Ht is still thriving. Regards to all the old crew, too.

Sucks to see Denvish and EKRegulus go, but hopefully you guys are just doing it because of the realization of inactivity and not because you are against what this list represents.

I'm glad to see you guys keeping this list up. I often browsed the old thread, to see how some of the more well known users of this forum ranked up against each other. It's always been a good list, with just the right amount of detail for that inner stat whore in all of us, while not going over board. It was kind of sad when the whole stat thing died, but meh, still good to see a bit of it still alive.

I thought you would say this because your not so active here. I checked my points and I only got 1695 that sucks, seeing X-Naut gets that in a week.

Alot of people have been asking to be removed from the list, and i can understand that they don't think they are regular enough anymore. But why ask to be removed? !? After all what harm is it doing to to be left on the list ? Also if you truely are inactive in the wi/ht forum you will be voted off in due time. Just be patient.

I also think that it's these people who have lost track of what the RCVL is all about. It's not just a list to keep track of who is a "regular" it's an oppotunity to compare stats with your fellow members. Which in it's self is a list so don't complain that this forum is crap withought the lists, by asking for removal you are only adding to the problem.

If people were to use their out votes then maby this would be less of a problem.

BUT, I still don't get why people ask to be taken off. You don't have to DO ANYTHING if you're on the list. It's just an honor, and there are a few perks, but by no means do you actually have to DO anything. People won't be upset if you don't ever come back. Unless they're your friend, in which I'm pretty sure you have some sort of non-forum communication going. It baffles me, but I won't knock it.

So, if you do infact want to be taken off, then don't hesitate...but fuck, that's the kinda shit that makes everyone complain that this forum is going downhill. Big cycle. Ya know.

I have to agree with Tom and RedCircle here. Very few times I have given my opinion on various issues (partially because I don't like debating and don't talk much) but I would like to give my opinion here.

Why not just let your name fade instead of taking it away? Of course you have your own reasons, but I have to try and justify my own opinions from here. I mean, people who retire from parliament don't ask for their names to be erased from history books. I don't know, I think the best way would be to mention your activity and DISCUSS it with other people to gather their opinions. I like the idea of having your name on EVEN if you're not active. Just let it fade and it's still good. It lets new users get a feel for the type of users that are/used to be a part of these forums.

Too much debacle goes on in this place. I think things have to be simple. Oh well, that's my opinion.
