Thanks! I needed a converter because I guess my other one didn't work. ZENON said I coudn't submit my audio because I had a problem with the converter.... and one question: is Switch always free? Or is it just a trial? Because I'm going to need it. I use MadTracker, and that only exports to OGG (or WAV, for $40).

Music is alot easier than flash. I really like this. Also the fact that you can choose from FREE downloads.
Which is nice.

ALSO, the friendly members here. Most newgrounders just swear and cuss at you.

But not you guys. w00t!!!

hi

I am trying to find something that converts ".TWS" and ".WD1" audio files got from the game Knight Shift. They do open with windows media player, however, converting them to mp3 or other types I have not found a program yet.

Can anyone please help with this????????

Kind Regards

I'd be the first to admit that that would be very useful - sadly I think it kinda stamps it onto the file permanently - Im not sure you could lets say - up a 64kbit to a 132 k bit file... I've tried - no success..

You can improve your MP3's sound quality by ripping them at a higher sampling rate.
In your recorder's Record Options screen, set the compression mode to 160 Kpbs.
If you're only recording spoken-word input, try a lower compression mode, say 80 Kpbs.

they're probably mp3's, wma's or wav's with another extension. you can copy them and change the name from LOLZ.TWS to LOLZ.mp3

Please excuse my newbieness but how do you change the type of file:
eg.
Intro_Ks.WD1 ---> Intro_Ks.mp3
RPGMainMenu.TWS --->RPGMainMenu.mp3

do you go into properties? Can you please explain (broken down for the layman) :|

Thanks

iTunes does all the important conversions.

Here's how:

edit > preferences > advanced > importing > import using *your desired format*

Then go to:

advanced > convert selection to *your desired format*

And of course it's free.

I've found a website that does conversons from .midi to .mp3 and .wav files.

http://www.hamienet.com/midi2mp3

beware of loads of pop ups though, there were eonough to slow my pc down a bit, but it shouldn't be a problem if you only have a few windows on.

I downloaded dBpoweramp and tried to convert a WMA to another format, but I get the same error message no matter what:

Error converting to mp3 (Lame), 'C:\Users\Camo Kablamo\Desktop\Firin' Mah Lazor Clip.wma' to 'C:\Users\Camo Kablamo\Desktop\Firin' Mah Lazor Clip.mp3'
Error: Unable to load decoder for file type '.wma', codec not installed? visit 'Codec Central'. [dBCoreConverter::dBCoreConverter]

I've gone through all the files the program came with and checked for codec updates, but everything is fine. Does this program just not convert WMA files?

Lots of features and presets (not sure about the whole MIDI business though).

Bonk Encoder-Audio Converter

It's a nice little audio converter. VERY lightweight as far as CPU (from what I've experienced). It comes pre-packaged with some handy codecs (LAME, and others). It can also rip CDs in MP3 or OGG Vorbis format. This is a handy little recorder, and I have never had a problem with it.

I already posted in here but I'll reply anyway...

In my other post I suggested
WinLAME, which is highly recommended for MT users (like me! ^_^) It is also twice as effective after purchase of the program (from experience).

Wish I'd seen your post sooner...

Maybe I missed my answer, but where do I find a converter for garage Band Files?

Response to Audio Software: Sound Converters 2010-09-17 03:28:43

AVS Audio Converter, while expensive ($39) is my favorite converter, and works wonders. I like it's easy to understand UI, it's ability to convert a list of songs (A list, btw, that you can easily edit before converting. Want to convert an album that's in FLAC form to MP3, except for the 3rd, 6th, and 8th track? No problem. Load the album in the list, select those tracks that you don't want to convert, and delete them from the list. Easy!) and it can even take audio from a video, a task that while seems easy, I've found difficult to do before this program (and to this day I find myself doing it for friends who are clueless).
