How do I copy my piano roll melody and paste it on other project?

At 1/18/16 11:24 PM, Glyxis wrote: How do I copy my piano roll melody and paste it on other project?

Click the rectangular green LED beetween the instrument name and the Piano Roll and CTRL C, open other project click on any LED, CTRL V.
You can copy/paste several piano roll at once like that. Highlight any number of LEDs with R-click.

Or you can midi export , in the piano roll option if i remember correctly.

Well, that copy/paste didn't work for me, but I managed to save the notes and then import it. The path was -> Piano roll options (of selected instrument) -> File -> Save score as...
So that way I could import the melody with "Open score.." -option. Thanks for help! :)

Is there a macro for 'Don't allow stealing keyboard focus'? I hate checking that option for every plugin I'm using.

nope. if you always select this option and you predominantly use third party VSTis then it might actually be worth decompiling Fruity Wrapper.dll and changing the default value for this option.

it should go without saying, but back up the original .dll if you do this.

This is one of the problems that made me buy a small midi keyboard. Tired of diving into menus.

Errr...I guess I'll just check it everytime. Don't want to get all techy.

If you remove the file FL tries to load from its directory, FL will skip it (because it can't find it) and maybe load the project normally. Used to work for me in the past.

Yeah, I removed sylenth1, seemed to be the problem lol

Hello, I'm new here,
Found this site while I was searching for a FL Filehandler script. Seems to be a ton of programmers around here. :D

-Maybe the script exists already, I was looking for a File merger program to combine two project files in FL. I opened up an flp file and it looks like it might not be too complicated, but I'm not skilled enough to do it.

Anyone heard of an executable to merge two fl project files?

Thanks!
Slimm

Double click the note and turn off the "slide"

Is FL Studio better than Reaper?

I think its not very much about being "better", more like "Which software suits your needs and workflow the best at the moment."
Add your plugins collections, and your very own skills, and it becomes even more irrelevant to ask "which one is the best".

Except that it's absolutely free while FL costs $199 to get the full version with good plugins.

Hello everyone.

I have recently gotten into music production and I bought/have been using FL studio 12 (the producer edition).
I am mostly wanting to produce electronic music and I was wondering if I should pick up the fruity soundfont player/if it is worth the 35 dollars. Currently I don't have any other way of playing soundfonts.

it's a decent soundfont player but probably not worth $35 unless you use slide notes a lot (other soundfont players won't be compatible with those). if you want to play other sampler formats (e.g. .sfz, .gig) you'll probably need to drop a bit extra on kontakt or something similar.

as far as free soundfont players go, i'd recommend either DSK SF2 or sforzando, but there are lots of others

also keep in mind that it only works for 32 bit fl studio

Options > Project general settings. Under the tab 'Time division' you can change it.

Hey, so i got this project and it takes me like 10 tries to render it without it getting stuck.
Does this (picture) have anything to do with it? (it was rendering when i took the picture)
I'm only using sakura and serum for my synths and only stock plugins for the effects.

How do I properly export a song to mp3 format without losing quality? Many of the instruments sound very distorted when I convert them.

Settings:

- MP3 bitrate 320 kbps
- Resampling 512-point sinc
- HQ for all plugins
- Disable maximum polyphony
- Alias-free TS404
- Trim PDC delay

I've made several attempts to export them properly with different settings but with the same annoying result.

My guess is it has nothing to do with the export settings. You probably arent experiencing clipping in FL studio because you do not have the "hard clip over 0dB" option checked allowing you to go over 0dB while inside of FL studio without really hearing the distortion but as soon as you export it you are no longer using a 32bit floating point engine to hear your audio, which is why you would hear distortion after you export.

go to your asio settings and check that hardclip box. Does it now, before render, sound closer to how it sounds after render?

I checked the box and exported it again but the same problem still persists unfortunately.
