A free track for all you ng users. This is the ending track for my album 'Going home to my home'. It's a happy, depressing, lofi indie tune with some deep breaks and mind numbing ambient chords. Possible remake with vocals. Enjoy! Rate and Review.

Okay, I've been experimenting with Cubase for two whole days and I'm really pleased with the result. Beat made in Impulse Tracker, all the other things you hear were played manually on the keyboard. Check it out and please leave reviews - any tips on mastering are especially welcome!

Check my music! :D

Mostly industrial-ish and videogame-ish stuff with clearly defined synth riffs and such. I consider Ion Force my best song at the moment. :3

New Daze - Trance - clip from a longer song I couldn't fit /cry
and
That High up - Drum'n'Bass - most of another longer song I also couldn't fit /cry

Both cuts sound alright alone though. I'll have to start making some shorter stuff to throw on this site.

Opinions?

Woah a Nocturne!

Yea one of the Nocturnes I wrote. It started out as a really fast piano concerto, but then I slowed it down and decided to keep it.

I love the piano in Reason!

Very well done. Judging by the score it shows, someone gave it a low one...which I don't understand at all. Well, some people just don't get it I guess.
Anyway, if forced to critisize, the only thing I'd change is to let the left hand part venture out of the arpegia it keeps up. I know it actually fits nicely, but I just prefer to hear that part develope into something a little more, then perhaps revert. It can make for a more dynamic composition.
Nicely done however. If that's done in Reason, that program has suddenly become too good at the pieano. hehe.

The piano in Reason is magnificent when used as a sample when someone is actually playing. When you plug in midi notes via mouse (or using a notation program), it sounds unrealistic without huge modifications.

Yea, I was going for a Chopin-esque sound, and as you know, he uses mainly arpeggios. I should have changed it up a little though, I realize how monotonous it can become.

Someone gave me a zero, within the first 5 minutes or so of posting. Whatever, I'm doing this for reviews like the one you gave me, not the high rating. Thanks a bunch!

(I'm going to have to check out your stuff soon)

nightvision your stuff isn't anything to be ashamed of either. I've got to review your stuff too! All of the sudden I'm seeing all of these great artists. Is it just me, or are there a lot more quality artists than there used to be?

Thanks David, I listened to your new Nocturne and I thought you were fabulous as well, really.

I'm an old time Milkman_Dan collaborator from school, so I love the piano. We used to jam to each other's music completely by ear, loving the music that we made (In fact you guys may have a surprise coming soon from us). That experience alone (the path of music by ear) is a very exciting journey, and I would recommend the experiance for all Newgrounds members that could indulge in it. And I just lost my train of thought that I was trying to express. Dangit.

David, rock on bud.

It's great to know there are people here who play by ear.
I play by ear, also. I actually partly scored a bunch of the Pirates of the Carribbean soundtrack by ear a while ago... but that could me in some trouble if I released it most likely. It's great practice nonetheless.

Anyway, MilkmanDan and I spoke on Newgrounds a few times, very nice guy, it's a shame he left. If you two put something together I'd love to hear it, and I'm sure the rest of Newgrounds feels the same way. You two could surely put somthing really special together.

Thanks for all the support.
