Hello, after a long wait, im back. Hello everyone, its time to revive the PSP Crew, its been a long time since i posted here, and as the owner of this topic, i would like to bring it back.

So, how is everyone?

Hear about the redesign? No not the NG redesign, the PSP Redesign..

Sony have announced a redesigned PSP; 0.3 inch lcd, 33% lighter, 19% slimmer. Better battery, faster loading of games and output video to your TV

Psp's are excellent ive had mine around 2 years+ and I've found some of the options on that I don't use so much like the music channel, use an mp3 instead, and companies are abandoning umd movies on the psp but it's still great in other aspects. The games are great and the machine itself has far more potential for size of game than people think it can. And yes theres a decent (to say the least) online mode and play.

I was also wondering if I could join the club.

PSP's are the best handheld console out there. They do lots of stuff. More than the DS. They are also better than ipod's for music too because they have removable memory.

let's try to not turn this into a DS vs PSP flame war , both have their ups and downs , which is better is up to the individual

Wooo, didn't know this place was in the C&C. I want in here please...

I've got:

Tekken DR
Pro Evo 2008
Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror
Syphon Filter: Logans Shadow
Ridge Racer 2
KillZone: Liberation
SEGA Mega Drive Collection
Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops
Medal of Honour Heroes

I play KillZone a fair bit online. I don't bother with Syphon Filter or MGS online because it's a joke how many times you get shot in the head during a match. It's also now too hard to stay on the Tekken leaderboards, which just sucks...

I know there lairs, but has anyone else heard this?

There has been several rumours of a PSP2 going around for about a year now actually. None of them confirmed, none of them have any seemingly true aspects of them yet. Wait for E3, if nothing is announced then they're just rumours.

I had a PSP-1000 in the past, but I sold it due to the fact I was not too impressed with the console itself. For some reason my PSP was much slower than any other 1000 generation models. For example when I was loading a game like Juiced Eliminator, it took around four minutes to do what another PSP did in about 45 seconds. I always used stock firmware due to the fact I had no idea about custom firmwares and stuff existing. This is really just my way of trying to help kick off a discussion in this PSP thread, but I guess I wouldn't mind discussing the console nonetheless.

My most recent experiences with a PSP have been using a friends' when he has brought it into school. It's a white PSP-2000 with some custom firmware on it. Either I got a really crappy PSP, or the 2000 brought massive improvements when it was launched, because it seems about a million times faster than my old PSP, which I sold in 2007 or 2008, if I remember that date correctly.

Always loved me some PSP, by far the hendheld I've gotten the most use out of and the Go design in particular is still beautiful.

Unfortunately nowadays the screen size is puny on the Go and not much better on the standard (whose batteries also have a tendency to explode lately). On the off chance I want some portable gaming today there's zero chance of me pulling out a PSP rather than just emulating on a phone.

The Vita is a more suitable system for today but its proprietary memory cards are both expensive and liable to die for no reason. Seems like the lifespan of these systems is particularly limited unfortunately.

Also didn't notice til now how dang yella my original white PSP is getting.

The Vita is definitely the most viable way to play PSP games on, when you homebrew it of course. Thankfully it's real easy to hack one for use, and have it hooked up to a microSD card for memory.
