We get a roster? SWEET!!

Um, I don't think I can actually do a Vash voice, and I got that name before I would have had the capacity. But someone told me I had a sexy voice over the phone once. Unfortunately, she was about 60 years older than me.

I might be able to make something next week, I need a time when no one else is home, since they think I'm crazy anyway.

Hey there NG voice actors! I dunno if this is the right place to post this or if this is just for people that want to be a voice actor but i'm in need of some voice actors! :) Anybody like Looney Tunes? Does somebody around these here parts think they can pull off a good Bugs Bunny imitation? I hope someone reads this and says YES ME! You see I have started on a Tiny Toon Adventures fan fiction Flash movie. Check out what I have so far My Flash Movie Sadly all the VA's from DeviantArt that have told me they would help, have yet to actually help me! :(
Anyways, i'm looking for people to fill the following roles:
Babs Bunny
Bugs Bunny
Plucky Duck
Hamton J. Pig
Daffy Duck
If anyone is interested in voicing these characters please contact me at ringostar51@msn.com I already have a script, and it's a long one, but i plan to break it down into several parts. This is a comedy so if ya like to voice funny characters then please help out! I plan this to be my first NG submision(if its allowed due to that they are copyrighted characters) but if i can't submit it here that should be no reason to stop this project. Thx in advance, and i hope to hear from some of you!

By examples I mean demo's or mp3s online that Flash producers can listen to in order to get an idea of what types of voices you can do.

Wow Frogs that's great! You are very talented. If you're into anime maybe I can use you in fandubs sometime? (I don't make flash) One question - How did you get your quality so good? Did you record it in a studio?

Great job with your demo -Frogs-! That was a nice variety of voices. And the demo was really clear and sounded almost professional.

Very nice demo, Frogs! You definitely have some high quality recording equipment there, and a nice variety of voices! I'd say experiment reading at different speed, since it's pretty obvious it's the same guy speaking all the lines in tandem when they're all exactly the same speed of delivery (for the more normal voices, anyway). Your voice has a definite distinctive quality that's hard to hide, so the best way would be to mix it up with extremely different voices with different reads. *nods nods* BTW, love your original music.

Of course, this post is all an excuse to post the Newgrounds' Voice Actor Roster, yet again. Huzzah!

Thank you all for the great feedback on my demo!

Kagome: I am into anime (Bebop {duh}, FLCL, etc...), although I never really considered my voice to be very anime. But I would love to work on any project you think I'd fit. I get pretty good quality i think because I have lots of experience recording. At 14 (shit, thats already 10 years ago!) I ran a record label outta my parents basement. I have a decent mic, a tube pre-amp, and I master my recordings in Cool Edit. For the demo I arranged the files and music in Pro-tools.

Elliair: Thanks, I do have semi-pro gear. But to be honest, even a cheap mic and a little know-how can make a recording that sounds great. If theres enough interest, I plan on doing a detailed tutorial about mastering recordings on my site. Like cutting noise, compression (not like mp3, but like making audio sound louder) and whatnot. I studied sound recording in college, so I think it might help some in the VAC who are where I was a few years ago.

Omahdon: Thanks man for the constructive ctritizism. Its hard to get an honest critique these days. My pace is mos def my biggest issue I need to work on. I was listening to your demo and see exactly what you're saying. And thanks for checking out my music. That's really my first love, the voice acting thing is something I haven't done a lot of, but want to get into more heavily. This is all of course because I suck at flash ;-)

Thank you VAC for welcoming me and not sending me away like just another noob... I look forward to getting to know you guys and working with you in the future.

You like FLCL? That's awesome...I've been working on a fandub of entire FLCL episode 5...I'll finish it one of these days.

This is a moronic question coming from the creator of this club, but how do you guys find voice work in Flash? I've checked your guys' resumes and a lot of them are quite extensive, so, ano.....should I just start e-mailing some random producers or what?

If you hover around the flash forum, you can find quite a bit of job oppurtunities from my experience. Might be because of good timing though but you want to make sure they're actually gonna finish the movie instead of doing it and then learning they dropped the project (good practice though).

Response to Voice Acting Club 2005-02-20 09:27:29

Seeing as how my abilities have improved a bit, and I've upgraded to Audacity from, umm... Sound Recorder, I've decided to start working on replacing my old demos.

D-Mac's New Demo #1 - "Serious Style"
I'll probably cut out all the jargon at the end of this demo once I finish the "Cartoony Style" Demo 2.

Sometimes I get IMed on AIM by producers of some flash, asking for a voice actor. But usually I e-mail/IM whoever comes here to the VAC to audition for any of the female roles they have to offer.

I think i would just like to take the time and say a couple of things i have in my mind.

First off...Frogs, that was an excellent demo. The sound was so crisp and clear. I dont think its possible to even improve on the quality. The range of characters was awesome as well...and quite funny i might add. I think you have a promising future.

Next, i would like to compliment both Foxphere and Omahdon for their websites about the bliss and the List. *OH SNAP CRAZY RHYMES!* Foxphere...your website looks great...i didnt know you were so talented at making graphics and sigs. Congrats to you on that. And to Omahdon, great website, must have taken a few days to gather all that info. It was well worth it. And to both of you... the lines that i received from both of you was phenominal. I really mean that. They were excellent...i couldnt have asked for any 2 other people to play my main roles. Once again, thanks so much.

I also want to thank Dmac and Ellair for contributing as well. What i have so far from Dmac is excellent, and all of Ellair's lines are fantastic. Thank you both for agreeing to play these roles.

Welp, i better get some sleep...got a lot of shoveling to do tommorrow morning. Adios.

Well, I've tried emailing flash producers directly in the past, but that's turned up only.... one, maybe two roles at best. Everything else in my resume was done with extensive auditioning for anything voice acting-related the the Newgrounds' forums and keeping my eyes peeled for opportunities to apply my skills.

I also got scouted a couple of times, both via email and AIM, which is a pleasant surprise.... Well, usually a pleasant surprise. Sometimes it's a nasty surprise and I feel ill for not refusing the role and potentially getting stuck in something offensive and in rather poor taste. But hey! That's what you get when you toss your mad l337 voice akting skillz0rz out there for free.

DMac, you've some nice lower-register voices going at the start of the demo.... And an amusing interruption in the middle of all the machoness! :-P However, while I do recognise you've got lines from different characters in there (MGS rules!), running them in tandem makes it hard to distinguish from one another: since they're all characters who have the same speed of delivery and almost exactly the same voice (with noticeable variations, but incredibley similar nonetheless). Mixing it up with different "serious" characters you can do that aren't strictly low-register might help. Also, you might want to work on projecting your voice. Right now, you're using an intimate sort of voice, which is suitable for talking to someone close to you or whispering in their ear. Even though the microphone is directly in front of your face, you've got to pretend that it's actually several feet away, in a large empty room, and you have to speak up in order to be heard (extremely important when you want to go all out megalomaniacally crazy). Otherwise, it'll just sound like you're "whisper-shouting" your lines, which takes away from the dramatic element of your speech. And recording on Audacity instead of Sound Recorder is definitely stepping in the right direction. :-P

inevitability, GID is finally out? YAY! Good job on that! And nice work, Frogs, Ellair. You both did a great job and your voices fit the mood of the flash quite nicely. In hindsight, after watching the flash, I'd have used a voice that's less mean and bitter. It's a little over the top as it is. O.o So filled with bitterness, Cain is.

Smithercell, thanks for the double compliment! :-P Yeah, that roster was an "up all-night"er thing I did for the heck of doing it.... But it's worth it! .... Sort of! .... Well, not really. It just means more work for me. O.o Oh well. Good luck with finishing off Sonic Matrixa Final! Hope to see it grace the Portal soon enough!
