If I could give blood, I totally would. I'm a little young as of yet though.

But I mean, it's a great thing to do. I can make as much of that shit as I want, I'd be more than happy to give a bunch of it to people who need it.

I got like tons of blood taken out of me when I had a physical and to see if I had a certain type of flu. The woman was like is you release your fist it wont hurt, and i did and it hurt like a bitch

You don't give blood based on blood type, you give it based on the fact that millions of people need it each year and we can't just make it without getting it from someone.

So... no, nobody needs to give blood, but they do anyway because it's a good thing to do.

That's ok, and just remember if your school sponsors one, it's a great way to miss class. I spent the entire day there (6 hours) and I gave my pint in the morning. I think we something like 60 people, but this time nobody passed out or threw up. It was pretty good.

I think she meant if you clench your fist while it is working it won't hurt as much. But you are supposed to have eaten that day right before you give, and you are also supposed to be squeezing something to help get the blood flowing easier. Otherwise there is more pressure pushing in on your veins from the outside and it hurts more.

I've been giving blood for a few years now. The second time I did this, I hadn't eaten all day, went and gave blood, then passed out in the takeaway shop. Classy....

As for everyone who has their excuses;

1) Afraid of pain - Bullshit. It's a miniscule amount of pain, and more than worth it.
2) Might save the next Hitler - Bullshit again. When you need blood, you'll hope that someone somewhere didn't think like you.
3) Women scare you - That's your own issue and not for this thread

I think it's almost 3 years that I've been giving blood here in the UK, and I don't do it to make myself feel better, I don't do it for praise from others.
I do it because soemone has to do it, and not enough people do it in this day and age.

I contracted a rather nasty strain of the syph from Gwendolyn, the 68-year-old whore who spent the night in the backseat of my Escort gumming my balls. So then I was going down the alley to take a wicked burning piss & this hobo goes "got any cash buddy" and I said "GET A JOB" and pissed blood down his throat. So that was similar.

So I just got finished giving blood. They set up in the basement of my residential building, and it was much easier this time than it was the past couple times. I think I'm getting used to the whole thing.

Best part about it? Definitely the Animal Crackers. Easily the best snack ever.

Figured I'd bump this and let anyone else share their experience with blood-giving and the like.

This was my fourth time, it only took me about 3 and a half minutes to fill the pint. Easy as pie.

Yeah, my blood giving experience was uber crappy. I basically waited in line at school for 1.5-2 hours, only to find out that my iron level was too low and that my hemoglobin level was 0.1g/ml too low to give. 0.1!!!!!!!

So, basically, even though I want to share some of my precious 0+ blood, they're rejecting me.

Giving blood is supposed to be good, but it's killing the world.

Natural selection doesn't work if someone with a blood disorder lives off someone elses' blood (like a vampire).

I gave blood in march of this year for the first time. It felt great after the donation was done. I never fainted that whole day at school. Knowing that your blood can save someone's life is a good thing.
