Glad everyone is having fun with it. I figured it would work with more people with .NET framework than with VB6 (/me still remembers the diaster with VPC 1.50) (recoding it was fun too!) Speaking of which I'm thinking about recoding VPC 1.50 for .NET so its compatible with more people.

Would anyone want a new VPC? I know there were a lot of people who couldn't use the old one, but that would be fixed with a .NET version of it.

So let me know if you would want a re-release of it.

Ah yes, good old VB6. Having to distribute a 3MB runtime package to go with a 50KB program. But still, even though I can just point users to a .NET download page, that's a 30MB download rather than a 3MB. Eh, I like .NET better anyway (it's the only way I could make the NGLister program so easily).

Response to Experience Calculator 2004-11-03 21:05:18

LOL, here is some funny stuff.

You have about 34550 Days or about 94.7 Years left before you reach Level 29.

Ng might need to think about a way for us all to get a fair shot at a high level. 94 years? Funny stuff.

Hey NeMeSiS, if you want to cut down the size of the compressed files (as if they weren't small enough already), you can leave out the "thumbs.db" file in the "icons" folder. That's just a 300KB waste of space that Windows uses to store snapshots of the image files.

I've added in some fixes for the program, the second link is now set up for version 1.001. Music on the credits should work now and other random bug fixes.

I'm starting to grow fond of .NET. The upgrade wizard for it blows though when you try to get something from 6 to .NET. And I miss my FixedLengthString

That is probably because you tried to use the links in his first post. The ones in Nemesis's second post work. So try to read the whole thread before saying something.

I tried all the links.

Ah, ah, ah, don't be calling names, now. He was trying to help to the best of his ability. Now, as for your situation: I just now clicked that link, and it worked fine for me. Because I'm so nice, I'm going to put it on my own web server so you can download it from there. Just don't call me a "dummie".

Oh you be quiet right now! I don't feel like fixing it because it shouldn't be broken.

Do you mean the download's having an error? It should work just fine; I just downloaded it myself. Make sure you capitalize "ExpCalc" correctly: http://www.jfsoftware.com/images/ExpCalc.zip

It sounds like you don't have the Microsoft .NET Framework installed. You can download it here. (23698 KB)
