Nobody has mentioned yellow since the redesign. Before that there were only three aura colors, yellow wasn't one of them and mod and admin icons were just like everyone else's. In case you didn't notice this topic was made three years before the redesign. Look at the icons they are using. They look almost nothing like the ones we have now.

purple would just be to close to pink if you ask me. i've always wanted to see a white aura that could be called "pure"

heres a crazy idea, but one that encompasses all colors
how about a color palette, much like the ones that are in MS paint programs, just a bit limited, but still encompassing more than just yellow, red, grey, pink, and green and the other positive color

Yeah, that's cool. I hope that either purple or that system can be implemented sometime soon (pic on page 11 of his idea).
