Response to When did you think it was over for your art? 2025-06-27 03:09:05 (edited 2025-06-27 03:10:44)
Funnily enough, this is pretty much what happened to me this year. Long and shit story short: Taxes fucked me through my pants and the computer where I create all my art died and I spent three months tipping on the edge of homelessness.
As soon as I got my papers, I started on my taxes and discovered the IRS said I owed them more than I had on me, so I had to wait till the very last day for filing and just hope I scrounged up enough to pay them. A few weeks later, my pc died and I couldn't recover it. I took a break from trying to get my pc working again by playing games on my PS4, which prompt bricked and I couldn't recover it. I wasn't having a good time.
That continued for the next few months until I filed on the final day and was able to have enough left over to cover rent. With what was left over, I got my pc checked by professionals who told me everything was fine, only the HD had been bricked and I could've recovered it at any time, I was just using the wrong USB ports with my boot drive.
So for about three months, it was constantly up in the air if I was going to get evicted and I couldn't even fix my comp (afaik) or game to distract myself. Shit sucked all the way through.
