-rubs hands together- Oooooh I have been waiting to announce this one, my friends.
Today’s Future Problems: Online Exhibition - Celebrating 30 Years on Newgrounds
Held by: StitchMiss/StillNess @StitchMiss
Hosted: Here on Newgrounds (Check out the collection here)
Date: June, 11 – July, 9 2025
So What the Heck Is This?
“…the concept of this exhibition – how the greats of Newgrounds have gone on to inspire the next generation of artists, animators, musicians and game designers. In a similar way the greats of the classical eras went on to inspire and shape modern day art.”
Since April, I have been working hard behind-the-scenes, reimagining classic NG series as Classical Artworks. It’s been a long process, trying to pay homage to numerous art-styles and techniques, and I can only hope I have done each artwork and each series their due justice. Twenty-four favorite NG series and characters have been completed and will be posted one at a time from 11th June up until Newground’s 30th Anniversary on 6th July!
What Else Is There?
Alongside the collection – which can be found in its newly created folder on my profile – I will posting a full-blown catalogue! This will be a neat PDF booklet, available for purchase over on my Ko-Fi from 6th July at the end of the exhibition! It is free of charge, with the option to donate if you want!
And There’s More?! (Wanna be included in the Final Project?)
There IS! At the end of the catalogue, I want to include something called a Guest Book!
Museums sometimes have these books at the front desk, or as a part of the exhibition, where guests can leave comments on what they thought and leave feedback to the artist or museum!
Below is an example of what a page of the Guest Book will look like. To have yourself included in the final catalogue, fill in the following information and pop it in a comment below.
Username: Your username here on NG – Your avatar will also be included alongside your username!
Name: Your actual name or the name you go by online (optional)
Creator Type: Artist, Game Designer, Animator, Musician, Reviewer, Lurker, Something else?
Comment: A message to leave readers of the catalogue. Some ideas include: what you think about NG turning 30 years old; your favorite series on here; what made you join NG to begin with; what you like to draw or what you like about being an artist; go for it!
Try not to make it too long (like half a page) – so everyone can have their comments fit properly in the Guest book.
The cutoff date for comments will be 6 June 2025, so I have enough time to save all the details and have the catalogue ready to post!
And there we have it! I’ll still be posting usual art in between (may slow down a bit closer to the exhibition date to finalize everything, we shall see).
Cannot wait to celebrate this awesome website with you all! ^o^
