I don't hate her, hate is such a strong feeling, and in fact I respect her for popularizing the indie animation movement we're experiencing now on Newgrounds and especially YouTube. I've kind of grown to not enjoy her animation, character design and writing style as more and more indie series appeal to my personal tastes better than Hazbin Hotel or Helluva Boss ever could, but that's not "hate," that's just me not quite "getting" her approach to animation and storytelling, no matter how hard I've tried. Worse, they can't accuse her of being a "DEI hire" if she's basically running her own studio and achieving plenty of success without appealing to absolutely everyone like Disney or Dreamworks have to do. I'm sure there's some more valid criticisms against her character or, more likely, her character designs and arcs amongst all that noise, but of course the "noise" tends to overpower the more reasonable voices. It's really best to ignore it all and just enjoy what you enjoy and not shame others for enjoying things you don't. These YouTube grifters want to live rent-free in your head, and do it in a way that takes far less time and effort than making their own animated series to prove their points, don't give them that satisfaction.

I agree! Her shows aren't for everyone, and that's ok! People are allowed to dislike like her stuff, that's not the problem! Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. What's so specifically odd is people are make hating her work their entire online personality, and then some. It really reminds me of when people made hating Steven Universe their entire reason to exist back around 2015-2019, or whenever exactly that whole "cartoon-critical-movement" thing was at it's social media peak. I'd say I'm at least a bit of a fan of her work myself (I especially love Helluva Boss) but I'm not going to pretend they don't have flaws. Every show has flaws, and a perfect piece of media doesn't exist. But good lord Viv's haters even go as far as to literally harass voice actors and other staff at conventions. And for what??? Working on a cartoon they don't like? That's WAY too much unhinged and obsessive behavior, full stop. No one is forcing people to engage with her work, yet they act like they're being handcuffed and forced to watch it clockwork orange style; like it's something they're required to actively fight against. I feel like she is not any better, but sexist attitude is NOT the reason that I hate her, although it could be unconscious. It is however overblown, and I agree, but I simply and not a fan of her work.

I want to put my thoughts down in a way that isn't intended to be mean or degrading, but the only way I can put it is that everything I've seen Vivzie do is tinged with this effervescent haze of ignorance, ambivalence, or straight up not reading the room. Only a very, very few instances of legitimate malice spring to mind. I think their animations are great. I also think they screwed over the original voice actors as a result of signing a contract. Sometimes, that's how it is. I loathe the fact that she agreed to it, but what really should burn people's toast, especially if they're indie actors like myself, is that she did not tell the cast of the pilot that they were being replaced until after it was announced, to which she then issued her statement in an e-mail to avoid confrontation.
She has a problem with oversharing- specifically, on social media. I think it's kind of a pandering sort of attitude to do something like that willingly, but she could just not know how to keep her mouth shut, that's a legit thing. In that case, I really feel like she should've been making her messages through a handler who could curate her information to avoid most of the backlash she's gotten over the years as a result of her behavior. She's a product of the knee-jerk, over-emotional, sycophantic double speak that plagues the Liberal-Arts industry, and to some individuals, her persona seems extremely disingenuous and hammed up in a desperate effort to keep people watching her shows.
That's just my two cents. There's a whole lot more that I won't get into, particularly about character designs, or workplace conditions, or other things, because those are already pretty extensively documented. It's all there, so if you're asking yourself why she gets hate, you can start there and work your way through the whole history. All I will say is that it negates any sort of sympathy I've had for her as an artist.
The worst part is? This is all perfectly normal. This will pass, and she'll finally get her head on straight and all that backlash will disappear- provided she doesn't do something stupid or put her foot in her mouth again. Even if you didn't mention Vivzie, there are so, so many people who have grown to be popular/ influential (some who even started here on NG) who made some real bad mistakes and burned bridges in their formative years that made any attempt at good will with the general public next to impossible. There were others before Vivzie. There will be others after. This is just par for the course.

The best advice I have for you is that sometimes, people can teach you a lesson. Sometimes, its what you should do. Sometimes, it's what not to do. Find a good mentor, ask questions, and don't be afraid to make mistakes, as long as you're honest and transparent, and you own those mistakes, good people will never hate you for that.

Yeah I don't know what your talking about. The only creole character is Alastor, the cannibal serial killer. He does use voodoo but that's the only thing in common with whatever the hell your thinking of.
