Cabinet-Worthy Flash Games 2025-02-26 10:41:49

So recently, I watched a YouTube video about a guy who reviews arcade machines of all kinds. In this video, he brings up the fact this one machine reminds him of “Old Flash Games”. That leaves me wondering, What Newgrounds Games would you like to see have a physical cabinet form? Also how exactly would it function? This guy’s channel has plenty of examples of functions, settings, and turnout that the typical arcade game provide!

For me, I’ll pick the Bullet Bill 3 but, of course, completely rebranded so Nintendo won’t sue. All it requires is one big joystick that would make it satisfying to move the Bullet arounds followed by one large confirmation button. Or perhaps bring some VRness to it by having players use their hand to control the Bullet.

I think Toss the Turtle would work well as a cabinet game. Simple controls you can transfer to joystick/buttons, and the distance translates to entering your high score.

drop cannon feels like it was MADE for a cabinet

Rahul in the Sewer would be a good fit

If it's not too egotistical to mention my own game, I designed Marelza's Cauldron specifically in the style of an early 1980s arcade game so I think it would be really cool to see as a cabinet

Absolute classics! But I doubt Abobo’s BA would get a physical cabinet without copyright issues AND public backlash. Modern audiences would get a heart attack seeing some of the stuff that game shows!

I would love to see that game on cabinet as well! I’ve played a bit of it, but it unfortunately lags like a mothereffer on my rusty old tablet.

Ay, same with my first game! I believe those 1980s games are like the best teachers when it comes to baseline game design!

is effing worms a ng game?

epic war was good as well

god, looked up effing worms on ng and it didnt even make the top 5 monthly flash games in July 2010 when it waa released

What a different time man

Newgrounds Rumble and Rushdown Rivals will be great as arcade cabinets.

I think this game would be kinda cool (It's honestly addicting as fuck):

Haven't really played much of the games on here yet but I think Drop Cannon would be absolutely perfect for arcades!

If you mean games easy to pick up and where you die frequently so the machine asks for more quarters, I think these games are great fits:

Now which of the four is the best pick could be brought to debate! Cabinets are expensive and bringing all four to one ticket-spitting console may not be the best solution.

Well, you can reimagine the separate flash installments into several different levels of one big deluxe edition. There are tons of arcade games that take you to different place around the world and beyond, so it's not out of the ordinary for shark.

As for my picks, it would be FNF with an obvious DDR cab and @figburn's highly-anticipated Contract Rush because it reminded me of Contra.

The first game of the series, even the premise, the thrill, and the objective of the game is the same.

When I'm super-rich, I'll go "These are the works of Master Wiesli. Money is no object, craft all four cabinets separately. Treated wood, EMP-proofed body, solid-state memory, hyper-stable operating system and use only the most long-lasting materials for the machine and body. Make these cabinets worthy of a memorial to the Great Teacher, and you'll be rewarded with riches. Try to corner-cut on this and you'll wish you got clobbered by that Kirby!"

So as long as Arcade 1up is not involved in the production.

Id pick kiwiman x treme, it would only need 2 joysticks and 1 button and I think it would thrive
