Yeah Goat Simulator was also like that. You more or less get the "joke" in the trailer and then playing the game is utter shite-arse.

However an actual indie-game I could never get into was Celeste. I couldn't get along with the mechanics at all so I never even got out of the first level. I'm sure the game is great, but the movement was just not for me at all so I'll never know.
