Hello there and welcome to the art section of the Newgrounds 30th Anniversary collab!

--THE PREMISE--
Newgrounds' 30th birthday is coming up this year and it would be awesome to celebrate the long and rich history of the site with everyone. This website has always had a soft spot in my heart since I was a kid discovering the depths of the web, especially discovering artists who put out their works in the cyberspace. They all are what keep me inspired to make the art I put out today. Now I feel I am a part of a dedicated community filled with great talented creatives who feel the same way I do about the website. Let's make history and get creative!
--WHAT TO EXPECT--
The collabs' theme is expected to be celebrating the 30 years of the website, but more notably the new characters and history we have witnessed for the past 10 years. In no particular order, Friday Night Funkin, Sublo and Tangy Mustard, Monkey Wrench, Punch Punch Forever, Satina, ENA, among many more new beloved series are all what we're celebrating with along with the classics we grew up with back in the day. The template of what the collage art wall should look like is included here for reference. All 30 handpicked characters are to be included in the collage and more can be added in case we get more participants or have enough time for more to draw before the deadline!
This is a little template and reference I whipped up to use when coming up with what you want a character to be drawn as. More characters may be possible to include in this collage later on, but for now, we can stick with just 30 total. Let me know what you think and if we can get creative with what each character can do in the collage!
--DA RULES--
- NSFW/NSFL are NOT allowed. Keep your entry between E-T rated.
- You may only draw one character at a time per entry. If there is for any reason that you feel uncomfortable drawing the character or if you cannot complete it, please let me know asap so we can work something out.
- If the spreadsheet is filled or if you're wanting to draw another character that's not listed, let me know first before I can give it the green light. I'll add your name and the character you wish to draw instead. Link to the spreadsheet.
- Your entry file must have a transparent background and acceptable formats are PNG and PSD.
- The file must not exceed over the 50MB limit in order to preserve space for the collage file.
- The drawing should only include complete line art and flat colors. Shaded elements are fine, but if so, please send me the PSD file of the entry so I can rearrange the colors of the shade to fit the collages' hues.
To keep the collage art wall be the best quality possible, to avoid low effort works or spam, you must meet these requirements in order to participate in this collab:
- You must have been an active member of the website for at least a year. More than that is preferable, unless you meet the rest of the requirements below. Do not make a new account just to join this collab.
- You must be scouted in the art portal.
- Your most recent works must be at least from July 2024 to now.
- You must have had at least one art piece of yours be featured on the front page.
--HOW IT'LL WORK--
When you're ready to participate, DM me and/or comment on this thread that you are wanting to join the collab. Be sure that you're willing to participate, and include which character you want to draw and I'll add it to the spreadsheet. After the spreadsheet is mostly filled out, everyone has up until the 30th of June to complete their entries and have them sent to me via DMs, this thread, and/or posting it to the art portal. Posting your entry to the art portal is also acceptable and will need to include the tag NGArt30 in order to be seen. The final collage will be posted either the 5th or 6th of July, depending if everyone needs to do last minute changes to their entries. (But let's hope that doesn't happen)
--THE TIMEFRAME--
We have about more than half the year to get this collab ready to go, but there are gonna be a lot of things that'll happen with everyone here, myself included, throughout the year. With that said, here is a timeline of what is to be expected between now and the websites birthday:
- January 6th - The start of the collab and where sign ups begin. Participants can start and submit their entries now.
- March 31st - Sign ups will either close due to enough participants or extend further.
- May 31st - Sign ups officially close and everyone will have one month to complete their entries to work on.
- June 30th - Deadline to complete your piece for entry.
- July 5th - Last minute changes before the collage piece is uploaded to the website and everyone gets credited.
- July 6th - Newgrounds' 30th birthday!
Few things to end off this post is that, if there are more characters or series you wanted to see in this spreadsheet and want to draw for this collab, feel free to let me know here or in DMs and it will be included. If you are not sure if you can complete your entry between now and the deadline, it is suggested you do not join this collab. Otherwise, let me know if there's anything that pops up if you do join and are unable to complete it, we'll work something out from there. I will add any changes to this post if there are any mistakes I made or if there is anything that needs clarification. Any more questions or suggestions can be addressed in the thread or DMs, I will answer them asap and to the best of my ability.
Lets all come together and bring this anniversary to be the best it can be! I am excited to be hosting this and wish everyone will have a fun time with their drawings to celebrate Newgrounds together. :D
