Sounds like a packed first quarter so far! I'll see if I can keep up with everything this year.
It's kind of funny that technically "Newgrounds Day" and "Pico day" are always close to each other. Both would be celebrated on Pico Day, but Newgrounds' and Pico's (School's) actual birthdays both being in July (July 6th for NG, July 21st for Pico's debut game) makes that connection even stronger.

I feel like I should know the answer to this question, but what's the best way to make Flash content these days? I got some old laptops that had Flash on it, but not so sure if they'll run properly. Can someone DM me with a solution if it's not appropriate to post publicly?

I myself would love to see this happen, as someone who never experienced old NG, this would be absolutely sick!

Our fifth annual Flash Forward event will be officially announced in early February but you can start making a Flash game or interactive movie right now if you plan to participate!
April 6th is the 25th anniversary of NG’s Flash Portal, the very first place on the Internet where people could instantly publish movies and games. What better way to celebrate 25 years than with a whole bunch of new Flash games and interactive movies?
It would be awesome if you could publish your Flash Forward entry ON April 6th, to make the whole day a big event. Note: The original deadline was April 20th but I bumped it up to match the 25th Anniversary. Let me know if this messes with your plans.
Prizes are TBD but you can use the donation option to donate towards the prize pool at any time. PM me a heads up if you donate towards Flash Forward. It would be great to kick this off with a big prize pool.

We’re changing things up a bit this year. The first Pico Day was organized in the forums and happened on my birthday. When it became an official NG event with prizes each year, I tried to move it away from my birthday because that felt weird. I also tried to turn it into a more general “Newgrounds Day” rather than expect people to make Pico fan stuff every year. It never really succeeded in becoming a not-Pico Day and last year a bunch of people posted fan art on my birthday AND on Pico Day, which was fun for me but felt like it would be best as a single day.
I both love seeing Pico fan art but also feel weird encouraging it with prizes each year, so Pico Day is going to return to being a more casual event like it was the first time. We can stick to it being on my birthday (April 30th) to keep all the fan art on a single day. There won’t be prizes or picking winners anymore but please let me know if you have been working on something huge, maybe it would even be best for NG's 30th Anniversary in July.
📆 Low-Poly Day
After teasing it for the past few years, we’re finally gonna have a Low-Poly Day this year! The current plan is for it to happen on Friday, June 6th. A more formal post will come later but if you want to participate, you have six months to think of something! As a general reference, think PS1-PS2 graphics and Y2K electronic music. Read the Brainstorming thread for more examples / inspiration.

Pico Day NJ 2024 felt as close as we're likely gonna get to NG-Con :P
I dunno if I will retire from Pixel Day next year but it was a good journey seeing awesome pixel art from awesome Newgrounders both beginner and advance pixel artist that uploads pixel entry to lift the spirits of Newgrounds Pixel Day while expressing themselves with art art style.
I wouldn't be able to participate the competition though since I might retire soon in the future depending on my life but all that that matters on Pixel Day is making the best pixel day art to celebrate it and having pixel artist becoming a part of community of Newgrounds Pixel Day where pixel artists of all skill are welcomed (scouted and not scouted). As always respecting Pixel Day entries is a ritual for Pixel Day.
With that said I hope everyone had a great journey of pretty pixels they made until we reach the 10th annual Pixel Day! We as Newgrounders come this far. :)
I feel that 2025 will be a great year for Newgrounds.
The birth of Low-Poly Day will give me an excuse to break out Misfit Model 3D again. It's been years since I've had the desire to use it.
Oh wow, and I was already working on a pixel art side scrolling shooter with a couple of my OCs, this would be perfect for pixel day! Question though, I am making it in Python/Pygame, I should be able to still upload it whenever it's done, right?

I always thought of Pico day as NG day that happened to also feature a lot of art of Pico himself. I'd prefer if people thought of it as a wider celebration of NG or making that a separate day.

I'm okay with Pico Day not having anymore prizes. It seemed more like a competition to win 1st in everything rather than a casual event when there were prizes.

I could write a short chiptune song. Only have LMMS, though, so I'll have to be a bit creative.
