I've made a year recap too
Put it on the list, Flup. I'm going badass next year.

And a note to everyone - I've reached the character limit on that post so unless I do more editing to add a few people, I might have to stop adding people. I might just link to the tag results more prominently, instead! Some people forgot to include the tag though.

It's not the same code for 25 years but it's 25 years of accumulated code / changes / bandaids, vs the site starting over from zero.
With all the updating that needs to be done, will there be scheduled days when NG will be offline in '25?...kinda sounds like it will be necessary.
Good point. I like to check this site often so it'll be helpful.
For major projects I'll try to give a heads up. Sometimes it's a bit spur of the moment, for example the two downtimes this week were emergency hardware replacements, where the downtime was at the mercy of when the hardware could get installed and wasn't easy to plan in advance.

Fair enough. I imagine it's probably quite hard to manage servers when you don't have the big social media money.
The link to my recap was in here but got removed, I think it's because I didn't do much and since you reached the character limit you're removing some links to leave space for others but I'd like to know the actual reason why
(I'm not telling you to put it back)

I did remove several after reaching the character count, I looked for ones that were on the shorter side and by not as well known accounts - sorry about that! It's why I might remove the entire list and just use the tag link.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, NG! And hopefully 2025 will be ok!
Yeah this yeah has had alot of stuff for me. Like i started to use my Steam account that and played a bunch of games i played in my 2024 recap.
And yeah i met a bunch of new friends online, was in a podcast, joined a bunch of collabs, participated in Artfight 2024 and won, and this year has just been a blast.
I even managed to make do my new years resolution with making an audio, movie and game upload here on NG and my NG resolution is to make a game fully on my own without any help.
HAPPY NEW YEARS AND MAY 2025 BE OK!!!!!!!!

I like to think nothing on NG got worse (besides needing more Supporters) in 2024, with gradual progress in the direction of "better."

Which is a lot better than most other places on the 'Net. (Especially Twitter.)

This was very much a “housekeeping” year but we managed to introduce some fun features along the way. While NG itself is turning 30, the backend codebase is coming up on 25 years. Much of that has changed and evolved over the years but there is an accumulation of old code, bandaids, bugs and general clutter that has been overdue for tidying and modernization.
That didn’t stop the rest of you from totally bringing it, though! The monthly “Best of” posts in particular are overflowing with goodies; I don’t think there is anywhere else on the Internet that can compare to what you’ll find below.
