I was assigned The Tested Hero.

I tried going for a thingie where a guy has to take down an aquatic monstrosity terrorizing the freezer section of his local Walmart, and I think I did okay. Not overly proud of it, and i'll def remaster it later.

Hope you guys like it.

A. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1394392. Powerfully Stricken.

B. Bond of a Father and Son.

C. Went for a loopable battle theme here, yet still managed to get it clocking in at almost 3 and a half minutes though. Tried to capture as many emotions and parts of the battle as possible with a slight fantasy feel. I hope it sounds good and you like it.

B: Corpse labyrinth

C: water (or maybe cave) level.

quite the ambience i made but i couldn't stop my electro-driven urge to apply some beats there. i kinda feel like i would do better at the challenge if there were some groups that didn't became full too quickly... (especially Grab Chop Swing Blow)

Hope y'all like it :D

B. Corpse Labyrinth

C. i tried making something dark and broody, got bored, forgot i signed up for this, remembered all of a sudden a couple days later, panicked, started working on finishing it, got bored, realized i still had a lot of time to spare, messed around, gave up on making it dark and broody, had fun finishing it without the pressure of making it dark and edgy, mastered it, rendered it, forgot about it, and only today did i remembered i had it ready to ship.

i hope you guys like it. i learned a lot from this experience. who says the Corpse Labyrinth doesn't double a sick skeleton and bugs party?

I make music and people like it sometimes.

A: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1396266

B: Turning the Tides of War

C: I took a dramatic approach, blending a cinematic orchestral style with a more intense drum & bass. This felt like a good combination to compliment the setting set up for the theme. There's a sense of grandiosity in the movie-like cityscape, but at the same time, a sense of urgency and gravity with the context.

B. The Tested Hero

C. First thing that caught my attention was the end boss battle, so I decided to go for that with this song/soundtrack. One of the inspirational songs in the google doc was DOOM so I had to make it metal. Everything is meant to be easily repeatable for however long the end boss fight would be. And it's complete with a possible second phase theme that picks up the pace and gets a little heavier. Decided to add strings for the first time but kept them a little buried to support the guitars and themes.

This was really fun, thanks for involving me :)

I’ve never worked on anything like this so it was fun to challenge myself. Thank you for including me!

A: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1396619

B: Bond of a Father and Son

C: The idea of my track was to split it into three sections.

1. Setting the stage in building tension as Jonathan and Alexander have their conversation.

2. Upping the rhythm and intensity as the battle begins

3. concluding with the dramatic finish as David and Alexander have their emotional final conversation.

I did The First challenge.

(Write a piece of music that follows each section scene by scene and reflects the appropriate emotions during each section and parts of the dialogue.)

Thank you for this challenge Brothas. Wish I had more time.

Group: Rat Scraps!

-Thanks to Da Boss for lettin' a little squeaker like me send somethin' in. Prayin' to the big cheese in the sky for his continued health.

(It's a concert band jazz ensemble sort of thing, featuring guitar. I just went with the jazz angle, didn't think too hard about rats).

Song 2: https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1397374

B. Grab Chop Swing Blow

C. Because I chose Grab Chop Swing Blow as my challenge's theme, I chose 2 different songs to compose. The first is the theme for the school yard stage, so I tried to keep it energetic and fun, while also retaining the identity of 90's beat em ups. The second song is a short and sweet game over theme I composed. I hope you enjoy!

This is the boss's theme, I thought it would be like him just lounging or counting money with his cronies.

A: Taken | The Voice Of The Fallen

B: Voice Of The Fallen

C: (...) You try to approach the ring, but the closer you are the less power you feel. You feel like you're being impaled from every direction, yet you endure. Seeing all of these corpses around the obelisk with the ring, you can't be the first one to obtain it, yet you endure. You slowly close your eyes, and focus, and all of a sudden - you feel nothing. You open your eyes to different spirits standing around you. The spirits explain to you how your determination resembles their past, and how they were too seeking justice. Maybe your voice was stolen, but your actions and your courage speaks volumes. The spirits channel their remaining power one by one into the ring. "I know you won't fail us" - says Cairo, as you're being warped back by some unknown force. You get warped to the middle of a beautiful, grassy hill. You look at the ring, but... how did you obtain it? Did you forget? You don't remember anything besides the healer that told you about being the chosen one, but after that... nothing? You feel stronger and stronger each second. The strength you feel is... incredible. You feel completely weightless, and this feeling is completely indescribable. Behind you, soldiers approach with their bows aimed at you. You feel nothing but adrenaline. You rush to the fight, and begin combat.

A. https://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/1398384 (Ode to the Fallen Corpses)

B. Corpse Labyrinth

C. This was originally meant as an introduction to the giant maze, but due to the chaotic nature I think it fits best as an early boss fight. Relatively early in the journey, but no less difficult. The first true challenge in the Corpse Labyrinth.

A: The Rebels' Briefing | Turning The Tides Of War

B: Turning The Tides Of War

C: (...) You, and commander Ed’o both enter the main hub. As you walk through narrow corridors, you realize how much preparation goes to each individual plan. Ed'o seems in hurry - you know all of this is important for you and Adal, but you're still not sure how. Seeing all of these people, scientists, tacticians behind every door you pass just adds to the mystery. Time feels like speeding up. You both enter the briefing room, and you see the crew already gathered. As briefing goes on, you start to realise, that you're in for quite a ride...
