This was an incredible month for games, including two 5+ hour adventure masterpieces:
Just like FutureCopLGF, these two topped my list as well, but even though I'm a huge Ferociter fan Mars Underground was good enough to take the #1 spot for me. The fact that I spent the hours I needed to finish the whole thing before voting may have made the difference.
I'm often put off by the BOTM results, but I don't think I've ever been this flabbergasted before. I simply do not understand how Ferociter's game did not even make the top 30. But that's not the only great game that didn't make the top 30. I voted for these two absolute gems as well:
And I don't think I voted for this one, but it probably deserves to be on the top 30 because of its cool crafting mechanic:
I don't like raining on the winner's parade, but I really feel like we didn't need another Vampire Survivors clone at the top.
Anyway, I also want to talk about how this is the first month with the new voting system. There are a lot of quality-of-life upgrades, like saving your progress and getting to still click on the links after you pick them. I kind of miss seeing the icons on a grid, but that's only important because it helps me count. The only major complaint I have is starting the voting a week later, because I liked being able to get a head start on checking out the nominees by clicking on front page submissions and being reasonably confident about what month they were submitted in. Maybe I'll get used to it.
A major change for me is getting to vote on ten games AND ten movies instead of having to split it. I certainly felt that this month, since there were so many games I wanted to vote for.

I try to vote for underdogs because I know a handful of legendary animators are shoo-ins so there's no need for me to vote for them, but I have nothing against these legendary animators.
