I'm not sure what it is, but I sense you're a Yakuza fan. I don't know what it is. You look like someone who would enjoy being a side character in a video game - but maybe I only know this from your role in this year's Munchies. I can see you also enjoying Persona games for some reason. Idk thats it lol

You must be a musician. I don't know why I sense that but I do. You are very picky about what you like, and the moment someone brings up the legitimacy of music past 2012 you go into a fiery rage claiming "THATS NOT REAL MUSIC." Other than that rare occasion, you're mostly chill and really do not give a fuck. How do you do that? I don't know - but you've mastered it. You probably worked in music tech at some point in your life or were in band during your school years.

You probably talk people's ears off about it, to both fans and non-fans, anybody and everybody. You probably are in multiple fandoms. Those of which I can't really tell. Idk if I even got this right lmao

I should've done this on my main (@Olexxie) I'm very much a big pico fan lmao

Write it in another language.

Kidding aside, i'm glad that this thread has proven to be of enjoyment for you as well!

Oooh, that's a tough one. I tend to enjoy specific bands, artists and individual tracks more than that i say i enjoy entire genres.

Ones that always return are:

  • Rock & Metal (mainly Heavy, Dark and Symphonic)
  • Steampunk
  • Gothic music (mostly with classical instruments, not much in the way of club music)
  • Theatral stuff. Not like a musical, but like... a chorus, drums, horns to accompany great fights.
  • Ambient. Leaning mostly towards the darker stuff (think Atrium Carceri)
  • This one's not really a genre but I want to mention it anyway: the Rayman series' OSTs (1, 2, 3, arena/M, origins, legends) are always good to return to.

As a bonus, to mention some artists and sources of music i often return to which I hope may be interesting for others:

  • Aforementioned Rayman OSTs
  • Adrian von Ziegler (individual artist)
  • Various pieces by Atrium Carceri
  • The channel Cthulhu Mythos music (formerly Graham Plowman - composer)
  • The No Straight Roads OST
  • The Deathbulge: Battle of the Bands OST
  • The Clash: Artifacts of Chaos OST
  • Darksiders 2 and Darksiders Genesis' OSTs
  • Cosmo Sheldrake (individual artist)
  • Certain tracks by Derek & Brandon Fiechter (individual artists)
  • Circus of Fools (band)
  • The Rumjacks (band)
  • Abney Park (band)
  • The Cog is Dead (band)
  • Be'lakor (band)
  • The GRIME OST (by Akupara Games)
  • Various tracks in the Charlie Murder OST
  • A lot of stuff in the Brütal Legend licensed OST.

You may be around my age, but you're a boomer to your core. Not the bad kind of boomer, of course! You like the good old days of rock, but you also look back to when music was truly revolutionary. All those raves felt so new back then and they seem more distant than ever now. This could be a stupidly wild guess but you could be some sort of techie or work a trade job. Getting your hands dirty is all part of the job, and you take pleasure in your hard work. Good for you!
I'm a 16 year old who makes video games as a hobby. I just don't like modern pop.

Whoops! I missed the mark lmao

You have a based taste in video game soundtracks. You always like to imagine yourself as a top secret super agent or a hardened military person on some confidential mission. Or maybe you're a big gaming nerd whose franchise is so close to them they have every bit of merchandise and paraphernalia related to it - yours seeming to be Metal Gear Solid. On another note, did you enjoy the memes straight out of Rising: Revengeance? That's all I really know about the franchise and that game was written excellently in my POV. Anyway. Keep on being cool, "Snake Eater!"

-bawls disgustingly knowing full well that i don't deserve any of this, having not played a single MGS game yet-

Aren't they on steam??? I'm pretty sure the trilogy released on Switch and a part 2 coming soon. That's all I really know

yeah about that i'm broke

that and i can't find a place to get MGS twin snakes (the only emulator i have that has a MGS game, Dolphin - gamecube)

that and also i DID find a place to snag MGSV: TPP but guess what the download takes nine whole ass hours and my ass does NOT have that type of time to spare

-sob-

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep.

Miles to go before you sleep.

altough, the funny part is that this is very true, when i play onkel kånkel for example in front of people who don't know swedish they think it's some hardcore emo shit when the song is about taking drugs whilst being in a gay strip club lol

I like orchestra integrated with chiptune

I like melancholic piano. Anytime I think about music I think about jumping on my keyboard so I rarely listen to music compared to any melomaniac. But I love music a lot! Maybe tell me what my music inspires you :)

Also if anyone want to help me out, I've put "Free Fall", everything is in the description. A little composition. I spent hours to tweak my piano sound. I just want to know if it sounds good in your audio system

I don't have a set favourite genre. I just listen to whatever I think sounds good. Both of my parents have an eclectic music taste, and I was raised the same way.

You look serious and stone cold on the outside, but you're actually the embodiment of a magical girl. The boys will never have you know you fw Sailor Moon and the Crystal gems from Steven Universe. You get mad when someone skips your music on the radio, but often don't speak up because it would ruin that serious look you have going on. You probably like Breaking Bad.

Bro, this kinda true, i do act pretty serious and i hate when ppl dont have taste in music.

But wtf im a guy

  • Rock (Idk how many rock genres are, is Metal a rock subgenre? But yeah lol)
  • Jungle/Drum and Bass
  • Pop
  • New Jack Swing
  • City Pop
  • Breakcore

Cool, wild and Groovy beat.

JSR and Sonic Rush's Hideki Naganuma is your favorite composer. You stan both games to no end and replay Bomb Rush Cyberfunk endlessly. You love when musicians sample in their music and you often go to deep lengths to find those samples yourself. You probably love some really niche artists as well as popular ones. What can I say? You're probably like one in a million jelly beans - a mixed bag!

Naganuma is the GOAT as someone who plays Rush!! Never played either JSR or Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, but I heard that they're composed by the same person. Everything else that you said here feels kinda accurate, especially the last two sentences!

Trust me, being ordinary in a world full of extraordinary people is extraordinary itself. You probably have a huge interest in games, anime, and music, and often get into detailed rants about said topics often. Maybe you smoke a bit of the Mary Jane once in a while like a wise sage or a wizard in his library. That being said, you're probably pretty smart. You probably have a lot of knowledge on a lot of things you're interested in, and being a bookworm myself, I can respect that!

You must like video games like Shantae and Castlevania, or just really well composed video game earworm tracks in general. I can relate - there's nothing better than realizing a game you love has even better music!! You can find a lot of super cool tracks that way. I imagine you also like music to games like Elden Ring or others that focus more on the orchestral aspect. Idk lol, all I can think is that you like video games to some capacity for their music

You like melancholic piano, huh? That's actually interesting. Do you like more gothic/dark centered music due to its sound or its aesthetic? You might be the respectful local goth always located in the horror section of the library. Maybe you like reading vampire novels from time to time. You focus on that piano harder than Victor in the Corpse Bride and honestly, respect the grind. Keep it up!
