Yesterday I was logged out of Newgrounds on my phone (Browser: Chrome, Phone: Galaxy A20e), and when I came home I was logged out on my PC as well on Firefox (version 127.0.1 (64-bit)).

It appears a bunch of people have gotten logged out of their accounts. At first we thought the common thread was Chrome for Android, then just Chrome in general but now we have a report from Pingu who was using Firefox.
If you’ve recently been logged out of NG unexpectedly, please reply to this post letting us know that it happened. Include what day it happened, your operating system, browser and browser version if possible. Do you recall what you were doing on NG when it happened? Also let us know if you get logged out more than once and/or if you’ve been logged out from other sites as well.
We're especially curious to hear if anyone experienced this as early as June 12th (or earlier).
NordVPN Update
On June 10th I made a post about how NordVPN is breaking NG.
Lots of people have been emailing support to say the site is completely broken and all of them have been able to fix it by turning off NordVPN’s web protection, which is blocking our javascript at https://js.ngfiles.com/ng_publish.js.
I’ve been going back and forth with NordVPN and they say they don’t see it blocking anything on their end and they need a screenshot of the error message from a user where it’s being blocked. I’ve been asking people for screenshots but so far no one has sent me one, I don’t think it’s obvious where to find the specific error message, as most people are simply turning off Web Protection and getting on with their day.
If you’re using NordVPN and have experienced NG being broken, if you can find a specific screen that says what is being blocked, please post the screenshot here or email it to tom AT newgrounds.com. This problem is at a standstill until a screenshot is produced.
In the meantime, @YendorNG has recommended Proton VPN.

If we ever had a system like that we'd have to police it to be sure it's not used for adult content, otherwise we'd lose our access to Paypal and Stripe, which don't allow use for adult content. I have no idea how Patreon gets away with allowing so many adult accounts but they do appear to have crackdowns sometimes.

I never want anyone to prioritize NG over their personal needs so don't hesitate to cancel if you can put that towards something like a credit card bill. It's greatly appreciated, though! $3 doesn't go very far nowadays but thousands of people giving $3 really adds up.

I've had the thought that I would be willing to pay for a higher supporter tier if there was a tangible benefit that matters to me.
But when I try to think about something that I really would want from NG that we don't already have, I couldn't really think of anything...
People make a mockery of the whole "blue checkmark" nonsense but honestly there is something about those kinds of indicators that does seem to influence people. It can feel nice to *feel important* even if it ultimately is something very superficial. I will admit there have been times I selected a higher tier when supporting certain animators on Patreon just to have my name showed big in flashy colors in the credits, even though logically I know that isn't something that should make a difference to my choice.
I suppose if you have numbers for how many supporters were gained when custom avatar shapes became a perk, then that could give an idea of what could possibly be achieved by offering something like a shiny "super supporter" badge or custom username colors/styling.

the whole logging out thing has happened to me many times before but I didn't keep track of it since I didn't think much of it at the time, this issue only happened on newgrounds,
although if you wanna know, today, it just happened to me right when I opened the newgrounds tab and realized I was logged out.

Crazy hypothetical but what if you had a pay to view system for movies or behind the scenes, and take a small percentage for hosting or something. That way creators can make money and the site too! With NSFW artists and whomever else getting the axe from those patron sites, I'm sure they'd feel a lil safer with the freedom and independence NG has. And if 'someone' made like an entire movie and hosted it here, that would be gold. I have no idea what kinda legal trouble and tax bullshit that would ensue but I thought it be interesting and work symbiotically.
I feel a pay-per-view system is yucky and sadly even if the community worked together to make a movie and had it be sold only on Newgrounds to help finance the site it wouldn't make a major difference unless it was a Spriggan or Studio Ghibli level animated movie that would attract people who don't even like online websites to go watch it
I know a lot of indie games have their origins in Newgrounds could the developers try giving the site a direct percentage cut of their profits somehow (not mandatory) small enough where it'd matter more than a $5 monthly donation but not enough to impact the devs

It's also funny how a lot of Russian users outside on Twitter kept complaining that they don't wanna use Newgrounds because it's not a great community and add the additional reason being is their VPN not working properly here.

For a while, I've been noticing spottiness with remaining logged in across a few different sites (like freesound.org, and warmplace.ru’s forums), but not on Newgrounds before, and I haven't noticed any obvious pattern to it.

I'm not sure if NordVPN said specifically how to find evidence of something being borked up, but if you haven't already, maybe try asking people who reported issues with it to turn it back on temporarily and open their browser's Developer Tools (pressing ctrl + shift + i) and look in its Console tab for error messages when they go to NG since most people who aren't web game devs won't know it exists.
I was logged out of NG on my Windows laptop's Chrome (my most routinely used browser) but not Firefox (which I use more rarely) on the same computer, and I don't remember exactly when it was but I think roughly a week ago. That was a single time and hasn't repeated.
I would pay more if the higher tier benefits include more Dumping Grounds space! I don't want to gift a supporter status to my ALT for that purpose, for the sake of convenience of having all my dump files in one place.

To paraphrase myself, I wouldn't rely on waiting for another site exodus as a business strategy. You really can't tell if/when a rival site is gonna go over the Trust Thermocline and suddenly haemorrhage users, and those users may not necessarily jump ship to here en masse.
I've personally floated the ideas of user-generated ads and a digital-only version of the NG Store in this thread.
Both, I'd say, are more viable for keeping NG afloat than hoping for a financial deus ex machina.
(I did also admit I have less integrity than Fulp, though :P)
i got signed out on my phone the night of april 14th. i was using the brave web browser for android. im not sure if you mean spontaneously signed out while using the site or coming to the page not signed in but ive been to the site before around that time so i dont think my session expired or something

Usually i check newgrounds on the morning to see any news, but on the morning of 20 june i was logged out, wasnt on the site when it happen, so just logged in again.

I got logged out twice in total but on different devices, that being Firefox on Mobile and PC. First happened yesterday on Android Firefox version 127.0 (Build #2016024687) then today I found that I was logged out when I visited the site, PC Firefox version: 127.0.1. The only other site I get logged out of is Inkbunny but it only happens every once in awhile so I figured it's some kind of automatic logout system after x days.
I've been logged out at least once on every one of my devices within the month. All firefox. I just got logged out this morning from my phone, and I was logged out a few weeks ago from my Surface Duo as well as my laptop. I think both times it happened on my other devices, it was the first time I'd gone on NG that day using that device, so I wondered if it was part of a security tweak on Firefox's end.
Seconded for recommending ProtonVPN. What a funny way to make me take notice that I'm on their most expensive plan and have not been taking nearly enough advantage of that. Lmfao

I had to log back in the morning of June 18th, so it must have happened while I was asleep. I use Firefox (127.0.1, 64-bit) on Windows 10. I didn't get logged out on mobile (using Chrome 114.0).

I wouldn't be worried about a data breach. At the moment we're suspecting it's related to some changes that were made on June 12th, just haven't solved the how / why.
i think newgrounds should have some general support for browsers that only have HTML or whatever

Oh yeah, it happened to me yesterday in my phone. It was on Android.
Idk, i was just checking notifications, and then when i went to my profile or main page, poof, nothing.
I think i logged out out of nowhere times ago, but i don't remember when, but yeah, that was one of the times that it closed out of nowhere.
