>Feddie VS Cyrus (CYRUS)

Insta gold. I probably would have voted for Cyrus anyways based on Feddie's entry ending up in sketches again. Cyrus using Feddie's boytoy homunculi's resentment against her was a neat detail giving a spin to one of her most prevalent aspects. Feddie's entry had better humor, I wonder if it had been complete if she would have gotten my favor instead. Things are what they are, however. Why no grown up cool Cyrus???????????

Adult Kome: "Would you not prefer to serve a better master?"

--------------------------------------

>Dr. Stitch VS Sack (SACK)

Stitch did a good and solid comic - using the body parts of previous dead Crabs was an ingenious way to play with her character and gimmick, and I found her shock at the flame attack quite good. However Sack did a fully voice acted, 3D modelled animation with great humor and action - I was blown away by it, it's a slept on entry really. The German accent he gave Stitch was a great touch when she started rambling in anger. Google is badass and the Nootgolem being distracted by Sack looking like a cartoon an hilarious spin to it, as well as the badass finisher between the two. He takes my vote no doubt.

Google: [YOU KNOW I KEEP RECORDS OF YOUR BROWSING HISTORY, DO YOU?]

Kome: "...!!! W-What!!"

--------------------------------------

>Dylan VS Tripp (TRIPP)

Dylan is such a consistently nice guy, and Tripp was going through so much! It was nice to see such a collab for once, made it easier to vote because Dylan pretty much sacrifices his victory to Tripp. Is Odyssey really that fucked points-wise? Dylan entry feels like a step up from before, and the entries before were solid as well. There is a lot of effort and love put into it and it shows. The final clash/hug/ring out was one of the best scenes, altogether a warm entry. Tripp's entry felt even more emotional - seeing how self-loathing and alone he felt all along and then to see his friend loyalty to him rekindling his hope touched me, both play together wonderfully and the jump to the final spread also made for a striking moment. Using my lore for the hallucination also made me blush, in a way even if it led to him getting fucked up it showed Tripp always had the support of his team and he needed to find peace and to remember the presence of his friend to get himself out of the dark sludge he was sinking himself into. In either case it was interesting to see a terribly mismatched entry in terms of power that works entirely to empower one of the characters, unusual for Crab.

Kome: "So? It feels good to have power, doesn't it? We should be safe now."

--------------------------------------

>Harry VS Mishka (MISHKA)

Mishka: This was the kind of idea I would have liked to come up with myself, a whole CRAB music video! Although the nature of the video made it so that the art had to be quite basic at times, I could still recognize every character so props to that. Depicting the matches going on, the rebellion, fitting the scenes with the beat: it really made me giddy to watch and put a dumb smile on my face. Great work to you! As for Harry, he is late, if he joins next Crab I hope he manages expectations better because doing that three times seems a bit much.

Kome: "She truly is a beast... Hm."

--------------------------------------

>Kalinka VS Ferfou (KALINKA)

What a huge improvement compared to the round one animatic, which certainly dragged at points. The white sheep of HAUNT really avenged the humiliation that doubled-pointy French delivered to her companions in the last rounds and that bat shaped psychic attack was such a cool finisher. Ferfou's entry was good as well, despite the sketchiness. Nice honkers. Ferfou's acting tougher than her thoughts was also nice, although I will say trying to read her thinking panels pretty much entirely melted my eyes. Good lord. Nice to see both ended up friendly by the end. Swords sisters forever.

Kome: "Since they found each other now, maybe then they can stop being a bother to others."

--------------------------------------

Violet And Rosie VS Magai (VIOLET AND ROSIE)

I don't know man. Should I consider the full entry? Or the half entry Magai delivered at the time limit? If it is the second Magai lost. If it is the first he won due to having a better and more compelling narrative and character interactions. I guess I will consider the unfinished thing, if I did not vote for Awesoman due to lack of completion I will try to be consistent this round. I liked the cameos in Rosie's entry but I will say the writing kind of repeats itself a lot, they keep reintroducing themselves which is space that could have been used for better or more interesting interactions. Magai's fight scene was a bit hard to grasp but it played with the character. The family was random as fuck. A troll of an entry, yet I liked it, and I liked how they took their defeat and the way their bond was despicted.

Kome: "Ew."

--------------------------------------

Sae-Hyeon VS Ludwig (-)

No shows. I believe in Apa. I do? Maybe. Yeah. I think I do.

Adult Kome: "What, they both got scared? Fufufu..."

--------------------------------------

R. Ant VS Sentimia (SENTIMIA)

Kind of a tough one, I was about to choose the ant before reconsidering a couple times. Lacks pulled some incredible action scenes in there, plus fanservice, plus a rather fitting finale for the Rapist Ant. He sacrificed having the ant protagonize it, but then again, its the fucking ant, and it would likely never gain any favors anyways. I also do not believe it is as low effort as it's been made up to be, there is craft and thinking in this, much like our glorious leader Wietse-anon he likes to COPE. Sentimia's entry had considerably worse action and battle inventiveness but it tied with Rhea's for character development, at it involved a full team squabble between Ultraviolent and Bucket Servants. That kind of narrative is just insanely fun and I cannot turn my back to that fact, so Sentimia takes the victory.

Adult Kome: "It should be thankful it didn't face me."

--------------------------------------

Moses VS Sanguine (SANGUINE)

Such a fun entry! A mix of cockiness and sweating bullets from the devil man, plenty of hilarious lines and absurd reveals, even a fake-out I was going to critique that ends up leading to the actual Moses showing up and being defeated anyways. An improvement for sure from the last two entries in clarity of narrative and some of the best humor of the round, I think Sanguine-anon ought to be proud of it, he SOMEHOW??? BEAT???? MOSES??????. Moses entry was really amusing, it was like watching a CRAB Harem anime protagonized by Soren. However, he neglected paying real attention to the fight against Sanguine which became a footnote and the Yu-Gi-Oh fun does not cut it. Also, using the entry to have Kome marvel at the Christian God feels to me overly masturbatory in a particularly vexing way, the spanking itself did not bother me at all but this does, she has her own religion already. Soren interacting with Lustless like she is a special eds kid made me cackle a lot. The dialogues and situations are really funny, but the entry was distracted from its intended goal.

Kome: "I'll take my chances being a sinner."

--------------------------------------

Hime VS Sanctus (HIME)

Despite what it seems, I am not voting Hime just because she is part of my team, or because (insert Janny zamn face). Her entry impacted me more despite Hime-anon having very limited time to pull it off, to win against all odds with a courage punch is as epic as things can get. No mistake however, Sanctus entry has more effort and flair and it shows, the animations are a great touch, Sanctus-anon level up is something to marvel at this tournament, to be honest I kinda consider them the real leader of the Servants at this point. The Kome cameo feels like a vestigial leftover of the intended battle against me - I did not care much for it since it ended up just being an afterthought joke but points for having a Komeo anyways I suppose.

Kome: "YEEEES!!! GOOO!!!"

(She catches herself a bit embarrassed.)

---------------------------------------

Z VS Celia (Z)

Among the most difficult matches to vote. Celia's entry is charming, her defeat of Z is really ingenious, I enjoyed reading it all the way, and in a way I could feel how it related to Celia-anon own experiences at Crab. Z entry had Z's incredible art and plenty of cool moments. The two factors that strike me more was the talk in the beyond and it ending in a fistfight - it seemed to me both encouraging and solemn and thus it ends up having my vote. Either way great job from both of you all tournament, you are on my list of MVPs from the start and you both solidly delivered despite your circumstances.

Kome: (Just watches silently).

---------------------------------------

Cheras VS Vera (CHERAS)

I will say I likes Vera's entry, the depiction of Cheras was an interesting and different exploration of the character, the ending also felt different, in a good way. Cheras entry triumphed however, good use of scenery to have a proper sniper fight, Vera's strategizing against a physically superior opponent, and the sympathy I gained for Cheras when she loses herself thinking she is beating whoever killed her people long ago, I did not expect her to awaken in me that kind of empathy. As per usual I keep seeing improvement in Cheras anon's art while it maintains the pure soul. Please don't stop drawing, neither of you.

Kome: "So the arena could change...?"

---------------------------------------

Cassidy VS Kome (CASSIDY)

UNGAAAAAAAAAAAH! I'd feel silly voting for myself here. Amazing entry from Cassidy, loved the fighting, the delightful and delectable cheek squish, I think its more beautiful looking and clear than mine, and the defeat was simple but ingenious and believable, not an easy thing to pull considering the bullshit power plate I put on your table. Beautiful Kome as well! I don't know if the tea party line was an intentional reference but I clapped. Were the pages posted out of order at first? I wanted to comment on that but then I checked again and it seemed fine, so maybe it was my browser.

I will say that I worked hard on my entry, I have things I like and dislike about it because I felt my time was limited (accepting the extension allows me to cope), some day I might expand on them, but overall I am satisfied with what I made and I am really happy that you liked it despite the tragic sour sweet end I gave Cassidy there.

Kome: "No way..."

---------------------------------------

Dizzy VS Z (Z)

Probably my favourite among the normal, not made by animator gods, entries of this round, Z entry against Dizzy is just so stupidly ingenious, grabbing Dizzy's nature and applying it to the whole fight, so much literal outside-the-box thinking combined with the great art, it blew my mind harder than Sanguine did Stitch's. Dizzy's entry, while it shined less in comparison, was really amusing and I really liked her adding a weight on herself to do the ring out as wel as sticking to being silly and not lethal.

Kome: "What."

---------------------------------------

Wanzu VS Frankie (FRANKIE)

Very interesting match, which I always felt was punishing for both authors given the ridiculous difference in power levels. It was a shame Frankie couldn't go off on her opponent with her creepy powerset, yet in that impediment itself her soliloqy regarding her frustrations with the whole tournament and her role as an entertainment piece felt striking and well written - her speaking about her Crab experience while floating on Wanzu's hand was been to me one of the best scenes of this round. Wanzu's entry was trippy and as usual the writing shines as well, Wanzu staring directly at the viewer was a superb touch. I liked how despite all the thread and discord talking regarding an one-sided massacre both authors stuck to the characterization Wanzu exhibited in her previous matches - she would be one to guide her opponents, similarly to Dylan. Makes me glad I did not choose my empress character for Crab as it would have been repetitive. In the end, the resolution of the match feels in both ambiguous, but secondary to fighting against despair itself. However in the end for me Frankie has the edge with a clearer narrative, action (even if she makes no pretensions of being able to pull anything against the Cat Goddess) and deeper thought and meta commentary regarding her rounds and team situation.

Kome: "..."

---------------------------------------

Rhea and Monkshood VS Boxing Wizard (RHEA)

Insta-win but still, I found Rhea's entry pretty good and the way it connected with Sentimia's was likeable. I always enjoy Rhea's ingenious shit-talking and the narrative skills are solid. The wolf form was also really amusing. A shame Boxing Wizard vanished.

Kome: "I don't have anything to say about this."

---------------------------------------

Janitor VS Super J (SUPER J)

There is so much put in this. So much passion, so much love, the color and the art, it all really shines. I'll confess, at first I didn't really paid much attention to your art, but the more I engage with it the more in love with it I am. I thought little of the term soul until I see someone's soul poured in a piece and then I marvel. Critique: I would like to have seen more of a clear explanation of Super J abilities AND the to be continued ending might not be satisfactory to many without resolution (although it is my personal fanfic Super J knew of Berbie's plan, given that he even was invited from outside the tournament). Janny's submission was no slouch and this was a difficult choice to make - his entry it's hilarious as always, had the expected fight animation greatness and the ending was moving - seeing Janny smile for what it seems like the first time ever seems like closing an entire cycle to me. Did he smile when his daughter was born? Crab 3 is really a beautiful ending... Well, may depend on the winner's wish.

Kome: "Wietse, Hime, translate this for me."

---------------------------------------

Wietse VS Tredecima (WIETSE)

Clash of the titans! Also among my favourites of the non-animatic entries. Tredecima entry was a masterful piece of horror. I quite loved how the brainwashing scene was handled, the inevitability, it felt like a fey capturing prey. Wietse's entry won however and triumphs in its hope - relating Wietse's own lost child with Tredecima's lost father and the mutual love or lack of love in both instances made for a great connection between the characters, something that as I mentioned I enormously appreciate in terms of writing. The music was spot on, the whole thing made me emotional. Excellent job from both. 0/10 he didn't win by dicking her into submission.

Kome's commentary entirely depends on who wins.

---------------------------------------

Admiral Pizza VS Stuffed Crust Crusaders (STUFFED CRUST CRUSADERS)

Not only this incredibly fun and well paced animatic gave Luigi the victory, it also single-handily solved the matter of lack of group cohesion/team spirit I felt for the Crusaders - here they are all working together to defeat a superior foe. Admiral's entry being a collage was interesting, although I cannot decide if that's lazy because it stops you from having to draw other Crabs, or genius because it's never been done before. In either case, it's a really well done collage and the absolutely bonkers story was a hell of a ride, but the animatic still reigns superior.

Kome: "Sure, but his pizza is better."

Response to Comics and Random Art Battles - 3rd Edition 2024-10-18 04:54:31

---------------------------------------

Berbie vs The Rebellion (BERBIE)

Is this the apex of Crab in terms of writing? Feels like a strong contender at least. Not in detriment of the freaks, who did an excellent combined effort. Freak's entry had action, humor (the video is probably the most I laughed during this whole tournament), tears... My goodbye to Overkill, one of the tournament's MVPs and also doomed much like Soren was, the battle action itself was in a way superior to Berbie's, although sadly I had missed the previous post regarding Carolyn's contract so that scene did not hit me properly as it should have. Berbie entry had that but also a solemn touch and deepness of thought that made it echo in my head for the next day, it felt like a genuine art piece. I had actually written already a vote in favor of the Freaks! "Because Berbie was late, would it not be ironic to have him lose to the same rules he upholds?" But even in his same entry he defeated such an argument. What was made with the character in those pages is splendid and also served to finally give some closure on the events of Crab 2. My respect to all of you and I hope to see you all in an incoming tournament.

Kome: "That's... surprising."

---------------------------------------

Z VS Kome (KOME)

((As per our previously established contract, I asked Z that we each vote for our own entries as to not affect the voting in this gamble.))

Outside of that damn, those are some GORGEOUS Komes, and the whole thing of Kome's reaching into Z's inner mind/soul and the ultra speed battle depicted was cool as fuck. The spread made me gasp and Z's line about never ever wanting to refuse a battle was badass, especially considering Kome is very much of the opposite mindset and will retire if she thinks she can't win. My only real critique of this is that the expository text box for the resolution ends up being a letdown, I only accept exposition for small situations or powers. Either way it was difficult because as usual Kome power is too complicated. Its part of why I gave up on explaining what was happening and went with an animation that tried to be a bit more about heart than combat specifics.

Kome: "Good luck."

---------------------------------------

Z VS Hime (HIME)

Just hilarious, plus the flashiness of making it a game, plus the A-girls dancing, it was a wonderful work. The Z entry had VERY kino action going on, but not enough to beat that.

Kome: "What, was I not enough?"

Dizzy: "So greedy, isn't that true?"

Celia: "Gambling addiction is a dangerous condition."

Kome: "Get out of my commentary space!!!"

CRAB 3

ROUND 3

FINALE VOTING:

Hello, I’m Micro aka Dylan-anon and in this post I will explain my votes. I’m going to be honest with my picks so may I ask if you all can pardon my terseness, it is my last round and crab anyway. I’d appreciate if you could give me the space or courtesy to let it all out. Cheers!

iu_1287601_7061501.pngiu_1287602_7061501.pngiu_1287603_7061501.png

I guess this first one is easy to judge. Morgan’s entry is wholly unfinished, and call me dumb but I could not understand most of what is going on. All I understand is a shoot-out. Meanwhile, Evelin’s entry, for an angel, is so badass. I love the shoot-out scene, the ring power-up is awesome, not to mention the sheer badassery of an angel using a minigun and a gatling! Oh, Dylan would be so proud of you Evelin (she’s a candidate if you can recall it correctly)! If I could suggest something, I think if you want a BW comic, start playing with screen tones.

VOTE: EVELIN

Fav Scene: When Evelin pulled out a goddamn Gatling gun.

Oh poor Forseti, what did you do to deserve getting Wojjie for round 3? Anyway, I’ve seen how Forseti struggled with his animations, but man he did recreate the animation of that one fan made DBZ animation if I recall correctly. Godefroy looked awesome in that fight scene and transformation scene too, also props for trying to animate… Yuna. I swear to heavens above Wojjie intentionally put her to make crabs suffer. With what time you were afforded, you did a pretty good job. Speaking of Yuna, Wojjie’s entry is just…. Universe. The cameos, the banter, and the surprise FnF parody caught me off guard. Not to mention the psychological damage he is inflicting not only Forseti but me too with that FnF spoof. If I were to face Wojjie, I would definitely commit sudoku… I would have preferred an actual playable FnF mod (me and gazer would eat that up) but having firsthand experience on that scene, you dodged a bullet.

VOTE: YUNA/RUNA

Fav Scene: Godefroy’s transformation and the FnF Parody.

Honestly, these two crabs I hardly care about. V-Man is such a one-note character that I don’t find interesting and Davok, despite being Aussie (and oh how I love my Aussie characters), kinda flopped to get my attention. But enough of my bias, I’ll start with V-Man’s entry. It is short, and one note or sided as expected. The Shoop-da-whoop “Ima Frin’ my Lazor” reference is neat (is it really?). But, again, I want more than just “I BTFO’d my foe”. For Davok’s entry, call me pleasantly surprised. I like the action shots; I love the poses. Davok looked awesome beating the ugly bastard. I must say, colored or not, the comic looks decent. It would have had more impact if you colored the “money shot” pages and leave the other pages black and white for more impact. It’ll flow well with how good your anticipation in your panels was. On a personal note, I know Mako and I don’t get to see each other eye to eye (I feel that you dislike me too) but I just want to let you know this is your best work by far.

VOTE: DAVOK

Fav Scene: That Awesome spread page before Davok cut V-man’s tongue.

I half expected Gouda to be paired with Ludwig but oh well… The battle of the jobbers! Here we go!

I’m going to start by saying… Epona delivered this time… twice! Shocked everybody I know, for the story, poor Gouda just got curb stomped. That’s it… Meanwhile our resident Yordle turned Rat (yes Gouda-anon I play league, and I currently main a Yordle), Gouda actually used skills rather than sucking (is there anything to suck on Epona… right). I must say, Epona’s entry is much cleaner and that Gouda, narrative wise, Gouda did depict her team which is a nice touch. Surprisingly a hard one to judge so I’m going to go with a more satisfying conclusion.

VOTE: GOUDA

Fav Moment: B)

My, my this is a showdown of two titans. I started watching Awesoman first because Batsy Boy over here pulled an ethnostate by uploading it to catbox; excluding Sea Mexicans like me (grrr). The story is compact, I appreciate the opening scene where we have a brief recap, really ties well together Awesoman’s story in crab. Then we get to the meat of his entry: SAKUGA! Oh, dear me when I got hype seeing those dynamic shots of the fight with the mecha, smooth action and good direction, even has hilarious moments too! Solid animation through and through. But when I saw Bat’s entry, I was hooked, he also has an opener, and killer animations (although not as dynamic as Awesoman’s). But then it happened. A little thing about me is there’s a specific rare horror trope I like: HUMANS AS PUPPETS. Think like that one Courage episode or Relius Clover’s Astral Heat. Boy when I saw that, coupled with the music oh so deliciously fitting the scene, I was mesmerized. The concept of using fear instead of brute force is something I really like narratively, and the fact that I thought Bat is going to be defeated only to go for a desperate move is such an on-character thing to do. My criticism is Bat’s entry felt like it was poorly mixed sound wise, I could hear the music peaking very loudly in my headphone, meanwhile, Awesoman has some missing SFX and I think I can sus out some unfinished scenes. But wow! BRAVO!

PS. Rock I’m NOT a professional and you are better in animating than me. >:C

VOTE: LENARD

Fav Scene: The Puppet on stage scene, including the live action (Damn Rocko you still play with toys you child?)

A matchup that doesn’t make sense for me, to be honest. Maybe GM ran out of pairing? I’m going to start with Feddie, despite being unfinished, rough around the edges, and humiliating my monkey in the comic, I must say, this comic is very fun! I have cackled looking at soyjack GM and Berbie, laughed at the misfortune Dylan is about to experience, and even scoffed at the uh oh stinky Cyrus. I found myself reading the short comic over and over again just to see the soyjack faces of GM. Very humorous, a shame that I believe you should have been given more time to finish. Cyrus on the other hand… as expected, very good art. Bold shadows, sharp edges, ectoplasmic colors bring in the HAUNT aesthetic. But my golly am I unsatisfied. Pardon me, but no showcase of powers I expect Cyrus and Feddie to have, its just a simple intro scene for Cyrus into a simple resolution that felt very weak in comparison to the hilarious meme infested entry Feddie had. Don’t get me wrong, the art is superb but I might have overshot my expectations with this one. I want to see more of Cyrus’ and his powers, perhaps in your planned comic I’ll see it.

VOTE: FEDDIE (Cyrus wins by default)

Fav Moment: ALL Soyjack and meme faces.

Very fun entries from both of you. Doc’s entry started interesting and clever; it makes sense that a psychotic doctor like them would defile the corpse of past quitters. Colors are nice and the line art is very clean, needs more work on the action poses as some looks stiff or directionless. For Sack, the animation is fun, I recognize memes here and there that got me a chuckle. The voice acting is hilarious, especially Doctor’s German. Some scenes drag on for too long and some illustrations I barely could recognize the characters though. Got to love that both of them have companions in the story too. I’m going to choose the one who not only looks cleaner but also has a cleverer plot line.

VOTE: DR. STITCH

Fav Scene: “Auf Wiedersehen…. SACK!”

Well, it happened again, our resident charmer man is putting out a sneak peek again, oh well, it better be worth the wait, yes?

Moving on to my colleague, Mishka presented something different, directly tying to the ongoing war with the GM. From what I could understand, Mishka had managed to kill Harry before trying to actually fight with the Rebellion. Some shots and references are appreciated though the sketches can get too rough and I could not fathom what’s going on. Narrative wise, it is a rebellion chase and fight alright. Did Mishka die? If yes then it’s one Odyssean down… amongst many.

VOTE: MISHKA (Default)

Fav Scene: Mishka declaring that GM is mortal.

The Sword Sisters! One has a pointy nose the other has pointy ears, who would win the fencing match and more? I’ll start of by saying I’m legitimately impressed on how fast Ferfou could sketch out such nice poses in short amount of time. My problem aside from general polish being lacking is the panels with text on top of what looks like screentones. Could have used a black border effect and adjust the frequency of the screen tones. Now as for Kalinka, bravo! I did not expect a video from you but you did it. The fight is nice, the danger of dying is there and I love Kalinka and Ferfou’s characterization. Of course some poses have jank in them considering this is more close to an animatic but credit where credit is due, you did an awesome job.

PS: No Fenix, I did not vote by Shiny Hunting, I was memeing to ease my despair (more on that later) but you took it seriously. Would I miss the chance to give my honest reviews just to meme? Also I managed to find 2 goddamn shiny Seedots while I was shiny hunting with Water Sandwich GET FUCKKKKKKKED

VOTE: KALINKA

Fav Moment: Either the Cyrus kiss or the close call where Ferfou was about to stab the soul stone.

Another match where I don’t know why these crabs got paired. I started reading with Magai with an interesting dilemma: he became the arena itself. I love how this presents a unique strategy. The sitcom mind games is silly but the tone flows well into being serious, especially the ending feeling somber where they realize they are out of bounds and Magai cannot be moved outside the arena. Personally, as a bearer of the Magai ball, which is a part of Magai, Dylan will just throw it outside the arena after bursting open the “Magai Arena”. Nonetheless clever mechanic for a character, my gripe is just the general lack of polish. As for the flowers, I must admit, my eyes don’t bode well with highly saturated colors. Small text in dotted backgrounds taxes my eye sight significantly. Instead of using White Border Effect, maybe use something like dark blue. For the story, it’s the usual “Oh this thing just happened” and won. Why is Magai talking though? For this match, I’m going with which narrative has the most pay-off narratively.

I’m just going to head canon that both died in a spaceship crash on the way to the bucket.

Oh well, the Boxer deserted us…

I will admit, I’m not fond of edgy characters without the backstory. For context, Z is edgy in looks but he has character, honor, and even a moral compass, which makes him loveable. Rhea on the other hand, I always see her solve everything with edge and violence. I was hoping to see some character development in this entry but alas, I barely see it. All I saw is an onslaught, some emo moment of Bucket Servants getting heckled by… everyone? (Dylan would never btw), then an inevitable deus-ex-machina by the cat… great. I might sound harsh but an edgy character with a payoff has the potential to be beloved, I just did not see it. Call me blind but I believe I can see a good edge lord (Hi Z) when I see one.

Oh. Sentimia, one of my favorite crabs…. Written by… one of my least favorite crabs?

Interesting….  Wait, SO this is where the character development went?! Rhea being coordinated with a goddess? Damn okay, but I don’t understand who are caught in that portal transformation thingy. Otherwise a lot of crabs was involved in this and it was unironically better than your actual entry. Consent Ant is funny. For R. Ant entry… this is not R.Ant. Its another OC, as much as its drawn beautifully, my principles won’t allow that. I mean if I replace Dylan with Death bunny, would you allow me? I’m sorry.

I’m going to admit, these two crabs, I hardly care about. But hot damn did both delivered fun entries. Let’s start with Moses, or should I say, Mua-ziz. I never expected a real Yugioh to unfold but here we are, the plot made sense in the end where Sanguine managed to pull a full board first turn but by using the blessing of the God, Moses was able to draw Exodia. I don’t see the necessity for the first section with Kome though, might be a self-insert but you do you, I’m not big on self-inserts so this taxes the flow of your round 3 as it feels very disconnected. Now for Sanguine, I never saw him as a comedic character, but he somehow shines here. Using deduction befitting for a fallen angel, he was able to rat out the Djinn as he is a fallen himself. Him beating the actual Moses too is quite clever and funny. I give my respect to you Bobert, you turned Sanguine quite likeable for me.

A battle of body, beauty, and spirit! Lovely entries from both of you. I’ll start with Hime, which had a very bubbly and inspirational tone to it. Fitting for Hime. The colors are bright and nice and the illustrations are very nice too. Although, I wish the fight was a bit longer and have some parts of reflection to drive home the theme. The prologue story of her gushing about Sanctus is nice too and the story of the student beating her master is a nice touch. But Sanctus entry, holy diamonds in the rough now I recognize why you are a previous crab champion. The animated panels are so nice, illustrations are superb, wonderful colors and even humorous scenes. The ending is a bit random but I’m not gonna lie, I like Abby. You should have established further that Hime is still alive though.

I’m going to preface my first Z battle review by saying, Z -anon and Z as a character was a joy to watch. Like it or not his antics gave me the spirit to finish my round 3 ending, despite the hopelessness it entailed. Outside crab, he is also a chill person to hang out with. Thank you Z, you made crab enjoyable for me.

Now to the meat of the review. Celia’s comic is so wonderfully crafted and paced. We all know Celia is the underdog here and seeing her do all the hoops just to defeat such a powerful opponent is what I exactly want to see. The art is superb too, with wonderful illustrations and fight scenes. The dialogues are good and dare I say, professional. But Z on the other hand, I don’t have to say the art is phenomenal because its still is. His paneling and pace had improved tremendously, although could be confusing at times but that’s to be expected on experimental panels. Lore is meticulously crafted and shown by actually interweaving parts of Z’s preparation to the battle. The dark style is nice and the final fist fight and the ending is somber but very great. I BADLY want to abstain as I love both entries but… alas.

The second Z battle! Man, this guy can’t be stopped. I want to preface this by saying, I love Dizzy, her design and powers are whimsical. My ally. But Z as a character also had my favorite trope: A kind hearted and honorable character that looks like a villain. Dizzy’s story is humorous, very cute. The electric lasso into battery polymorph combo is 100% touch of death (G please nerf). Although I will painfully say I expected more than just a curb-ari stomp. Z on the other hand, HOLY SHIT. The use of powers! The art! The breaking of fourth wall! Magnificent! And he also produced my favorite illustration of all time: The Close up Domain Expansion Dizzy face. Such a beauty. Bravo Z, Bravo. I could only hope to reach the pinnacle of your artstyle one day.

Unironically, I think these two crabs are cute. Starting with Vera, the story is somber and I think I can relate on giving my opponent the spotlight in my very own entry. The art was a massive step up but I still have issues reading the text. Again, if text is in a screen tone, use border effects. For the story, it took on a creepy side when Cheras wants to keep Vera forever in a fight. It’s an eldritch horror underexplored so I appreciate it, Some texts could be bigger too. For Cheras, the art was a massive step up too, you can only grow from here. I’ll admit it needed two reads for me to understand it but from what I could see, Cheras has the power to transport people to another place? But lore wise, solid entry. It felt like I was given proper context on who is Cheras and her tragedy. I’m very glad that Cheras did not kill and cannibalize Vera as I would have expected it.

Somehow, I saw this match coming. To start, Kome’s story is lore packed compared to her round 2, so I’m eating good with her entry. The power scaling of the character corresponds well with her ambitions, and thankfully it was well explained in the story itself. But holy moly, what a beating. Cassidy’s entry is on the lighter mood, with superb posing, scenes, and line art. I noticed that you opted to use some gray’s too, a step up. I must admit, Dylan having direct impact on the battle made me giggity too. I felt silly that the reason why Cassidy had a fighting chance is that she kissed my crab in panic and desperation. Another nice lore callback, meanwhile Cassidy’s Spirit Lion Dog shot is one of the most stunning panels I ever saw! This is a tough one for me, but as a lore mongrel, I must put my vote where it counts…

Oh boy, this is a match that I better make it count….

I’ll start with Wanzu, who delivered a suspenseful entry. And you know how they made it suspenseful? By delivering in parts! What a meta and ingenious way of creating tension, especially with each entry ending in an anticipation for the next one. The story is as trippy as Wanzu is as a God, which captures how she is removed from the mortals that occupy the crab roster. The focus on how bitter sweet the ending is such a nice touch, I’m also flattered how many scenes focus on Dylan because theoretically he is the second in command and is the closest to Frankie lore wise. But moving on to captain, I msut scold you for hurting me dearly with that schism reveal! >:C Jokes aside, this one has a more whimsical feel to it. The surprise animated panel actually shows us what Frankie could do. What I love about this entry is the use of what both crabs could do and as such has stronger lore in my opinion. Not to mention, Gm getting what he deserves? Yes.

I’m a new crab so this is admittedly lost in translation for me. So I’m going to judge it as I see it. Janny’s entry is again, pure soul. The animated scenes are fun and the Family Guy joke, while I hate the series, is funny on its own. But wow was I struck by Super J’s style! Its colorful and whimsical, very very charming… and to think this is hand-drawn? The lore is interesting. Super J working together with Janny? A very unexpected twist even for a new crab like me.

A showdown of two comic titans. I’ll start with Lacks: BEAUTIFUL line art. Beautifully executed horror story, I don’t even mind the word salad below because it displays ego death succinctly. But Van’s entry is also good. Im gonna be honest, I like underdogs, so Lacks would be right for assuming that Wietse already has the upper hand. It is such a hilariously tragic mismatch but seeing Wietse tough it out is amazing. Also… ANIMATED PANELS! I might get flack here but my vote here hinges to which character I like better. Wietse is a bratty underdog, as dumb as a teen, but with an indomitable heart. Its quite easy to rally behind him. Tredecima… well this is the problem: I want to see more of her human side rather than her million forms. It is her desire and not powers that makes her interesting. But with that, I hope you flesh her backstory and future more and more, because honestly, she works better as a tragic force than just a force of nature.

To preface this, I’m going to straight up admit that I haven’t played any Touhou games and I’m straight up bad at bullet hell. So, I was not able to finish it. But snooping around people gave me the gist of the ending. Also, Soren has been one of my favorite crabs.

To start, I have no critiques with Ocapon’s comic, it is a nice upstart for the real meat of the entry: the game. I have a few friends I asked to play it with me, so far, it’s a good but honestly difficult bullet hell! There is a pattern to dodging and the time stop mechanic is a god send. Lore wise it all ends up the same (me crying). But moving to Bon who had… 15+ mins (are you still alive Bon?). The lore is there, front and center, and I love it. I don’t know about others but the lack of color not only evoked Bon’s comic style but also set up how OMINOUS the ending is going to be! My critique is at times the animations are a bit choppy and /or lacking in clarity… but seeing how MASSIVE this is I can pardon it. But the ending, goddammit Bon. I haven’t told you but I was one if the people that knew he is gonna die, but soul disintegration!? What are you a monster!? Dramatics, aside, the “tragekino” you wish to tell throughout the crab 3 has wonderfully (doom) wrapped up, and as more of a lore guy than technicality, I can’t help but to bow.

An unusual 1v6! Admiral’s entry is a funny one with up the stakes because crabs who can’t eat more will be eaten. The comic is funny and a lot of it came from how the whole team was depicted like harry and his pants raccoon. But somehow, I don’t like the reused assets. Would have been funnier if you actually traced them and repurposed. Luigi and the gang’s entry tho is such a fun animation. The music is funny, the way they move as one team is funny and whats funnier is that its supposed to be a pizza making contest and not a war! I was hoping for a pizza making contest in bucket ala diner dash not gonna lie.

First of all, I’d like to congratulate Quaint for finishing an entry, maybe if you have done something like that while being in the freakers, Z would not have disbanded your group. Overall, great effort you three! Its part funny, sad, and sentimental, I absolutely lost it at Fman’s cuppcakke sound effect. Truly a way to cap off this rebellion. But I have to give my graces to the GM itself. My comic was actually inspired by his comic last crab, although I cannot in my life match it. Berbie’s story and theme is as clear as tears and I admire the lore in it. On principle, Berbie should have lost because of a late entry, but I really can't help but to vote for him solely because of the beautiful presentation and the poignant message it had. But again, kudos to the Rebellion for an entertaining showdown.

This is going to be a long one, as I will also detail my experience as a whole in CRAB 3. Feel free to skip it if you don’t want the backstory, otherwise, know that I’m serious with this one.

I was invited by Ame for this crab, I seized this as an opportunity to improve my comic and lore making skills. My choice of crab, Dylan, is a five-year-old OC that I nearly forgot. But I entered him on a whim. To tell you the truth, I entered the crab directionless. But I enjoyed it, until a series of events happened. Ame left, we are last, we have a no show, yet I persisted. What’s worse is I had a plan with Sentimia. We were so ready to rig it just to deliver a good lore because at that time, Dylan got miraculously fleshed out because of crab. But Ame left.

I am not kidding when I say, despite my enthusiasm in chat, my courage was indeed shattered come round 3. How EMBARASSING is it that I was the team’s hype man, yet we are dead last. THE WORST! I feel like a total failure, one of the worst crabs out there. A fool dancing for nothing. It feels the absolute worst. People saw me as a chipper gay dude in the chat but it is a ruse I put up to not start a shitshow. It got worse when for our final round we have LITERALLY TWO no shows. I don’t know why I can’t bring myself to be angry at the deserters and or fellow crabs but I’m mostly angry at myself. What’s the point? My efforts are for nothing. I’m one of the worst crab and the worst performing of all Newgrounds newcomers and I genuinely believe that.

But before the start of round 3, me and Gazer (Tripp) had been planning for a while now. The reason for this is that both of us got invited by Ame herself and when Ame left, she suggested we both list each other and deliver a proper entry. We wanted to make something to redeem Tripp after that horrid round 2. So we tried to rig it by listing each other as number 1 on hit list. Admittedly, I had no idea what to do with Tripp, but since I was working close with Gazer and did some lore digging. In case people don’t know, the one thing I ask everyone who faced Dylan is: What is your character’s strongest virtue? From there it gives me a map on how to redeem or uplift an OC. While some people think its gay to not power scale with your character, I had to write Dylan true to his character and it worked. Dare I say too well. This was the motivation I needed to finish round 3. Its not the theme, nor a quest for a dud-gold, but its my desire to redeem a character and to write Dylan as pure as he is to be in his own story…. as cheesy as its sounds.

TRIPP

Fav Scene: Our entire comics itself.

I want to thank the two people that was there for me while I am suffering. Thank you Z for being a friend and a listener, as much as I annoy you, I genuinely enjoy our convos. We both share harrowing experiences in crab and I love how we both laugh and bond over our misfortunes. Last but not the least, thank you Gazer for working with me closely. We did a good job, from fleshing out a character to giving a satisfying ending. It worked. Thank you for easing me in too from the despair I felt in round 3, especially the extension period where it felt like I was working for absolutely nothing. It is not true, our work meant something. So please, take my vote as a token of appreciation and hoping that you win. I lied to everyone when I said it is a collab comic even though its technically not, this is to even out the ground. I won’t let you job this round.

Crab had been a ride, but ultimately, I can still feel the sting of embarrassment due to unforeseen circumstances out of my control. I appreciate what the tournament did to my writing skills but I’m not sure if I have improved in storytelling. I frankly don’t trust the opinions of most crabs as I believe they don’t read. I tried to make it as fun for me but I felt like I landed flat on the ground. My only respite is how beautiful my round 3 got, all thanks to Gazer. I look forward working with you in another collab in the future, you are a joy to be my opponent and also my friend.

To crab, I am not going to return in fear of another dud and that hopeless feeling might return. If that happens to me again, I fear that it will kill my drive in comics in general. I don’t know if you all enjoyed Dylan as a character too, I genuinely doubt it and I also doubt you’d all like me to return. Despite that, I am more motivated than ever to map Dylan’s and Death Bunny’s stories, and will continue pursuing comics. I will be certainly be too occupied to join again.

But who knows? Future is unpredictable.

I did my best, but I have regrets

Thank you.

I'm only gonna say a few words as I'm not the best at this but I have things to say for some of them. I hope writing these helps me improve writeups and stuff as well!

Ocapon X Soren & Centurion

Winner Soren & Centurion

I enjoyed the comic and what I could play of the game but I simply can not play toho, its too hard. I wish you would just show a game play of it as only one person has managed to get the good end.

Great idea and execution but I wish there was a more accessible way of seeing the whole thing.

Why you gotta make him suffer so much! Very well done to the fight and everything. No happy endings for poor Soren.

Morgan X Evelin

Winner Evelin

Wish there was a way of reading this, I hate voteing for myself but as a general rule I put finished entry's over unfinished ones.

Godefroy X Yuna

Winner Godefroy

Very very impressive animation and nice fight choreography

Very fun entry as usual wojjie, funny and a nice use of everyone!

Davok X Victory Man

Winner Davok

nice snappy action run violence. Really enjoyed the comic.

Well that was gross but Im pretty sure that's exactly what you were going for. Nice gore work, I love body horror.

Epona X Gouda

Winner Gouda

Nice to see a comic from you. And rat tits, always a plus.

Nice fight just wish it was a bit longer (and had more cheese puns)

I also love the shading and wish it was on the whole thing but you prioritised the correct panels which is good.

Awesoman X Lenard

Winner Lenard

Very very well done! Just really good dude. Like an episode of a tv show. Its amazing how much you managed to do in a short amount of time. Amazing work even as a WIP.

God that was so amazing also! I really loved the story in this and it had some great moments, fuck this is a tough call.

Feddie X Cyrus

Winner Cyrus

Wish it was more of a fight but fun memes that made me giggle

I still love your style Kav. Nice short and sweet. Good stuff.

Dr. Stitch X Sack

Winner Sack

Good clean fight! Nice use of the ultimate form for a character like Stitch. Nice stuff.

Cant help it I'm a huge sucker for experimental stuff. Seeing someone try something different with multi media always peaks my interest and raises my enjoyment.

Tripp X Dylan

Winner Dylan

That was lovely, made me feel for Trip and seeing him break down was just really heart breaking. Great stuff!

This was also really good, got a nice action sequence in here as well! Just all around great stuff.

Harry X Mishka

Winner Mishka

I'm disappointed, I really wish you could have finished one crab project on time. Well I'll look forward to when its done.

Nice nuremberg animatic! I wish it was more a harry fight but I guess you figured he would be late again and did this instead. I think you were trying to show EVERYTHING which made it feel quite cluttered, try and trim down events and focus on them a little longer, the smaller moments not only leave time to breath but enjoy the moment more.

Ferfou X Kalinka

Winner Kalinka

Short and sweet, wish you were able to spend more time on this but mon due or whatever the swiss say.

Nice clean fight and good animatic. Good all around.

Magai X Violet and Rosie

Winner Magai

I enjoyed the family stuff but you were way to ambitious for the amount of pages you wanted to do. I really like what you did with everyone with the bizarre Magai family to Rosie and Violets relationship. Its nicely done.

I know your style isnt for everyone but I actually enjoy the bizaro visuals, its very interesting to look at. Funny swift ending but I would have liked more of a fight.

Sae Hyeon X Ludwig

F

Boxing Wizard X Rhea and Monkshood

Winner Rhea and Monkshood

Good clean fight! Tip for using markers though go around in circles so the ink all bleeds together, work quick and try to stay consistent with how you apply it, It will leave a much cleaner result.

Sentimia X R. Ant

Winner R.Ant

Felt like there was just too much going on so it was really hard to follow.

Lot more coherent and a good fight

Sanguine X Moses

Winner Sanguine

really enjoyed the twist. Definitely the best way of dealing with the Moses problem tm. Good action and I still admire your dedication to brush pens

Usually I try and stay positive and kind with my comments as they are mostly here to show I've read the comics. This is the exception. I don't like you Kimble, I don't like how you've treated me and how you treat others. Your writing of women is extremely misogynistic and you've turned a strong stubborn bitchy character into a blushing school girl. The jabs at others artists religion is extremely disrespectful too. The blatant disregarded for Sanguine can't be looked over ether, you were meant to draw a fight between Sanguine and Moses not spend a handful of panels on it and focus on retarded romance drama.

Hime X Sanctus

Winner Sanctus

I love how empty headed Hime is and the throwing the chekhov's gun out the window. Good solid action too.

I think abby should get that wish, its her birthday after all. Great use of animation! Nice fight with solid action and framing!

Celia X Z

Winner Celia

Yooo! Nice battle and great art! I really liked them fighting on equal ground!

Amazing art as usual but it was a little confusing to follow with the text boxes being all over the place. Still great looking and its clear you just wanted to do something visually interesting which it is.

Vera X Cheras

Winner Cheras

Clean looking comic. Idk about being introspective on a character as silly as Cheras, would need some solid writing which this doesn't really have.

Wish it was more about Vera and struggling against an enemy that she can barely fight.

Funny with some really nice character moments. Plus the action was pretty good

Cassidy X Kome

Winner Kome

Really strong fighting here alongside everything else. Just a very good entry.

Also I just enjoy ring outs simple as.

Really nice story here and I'm always a fan of your fights Ardi.

It's another nearly impossible choice again aaaa

But I think this one has a better story

Z (replacing Desmond & Guido) X Dizzy

Winner Z

Very clever use of the panels here

.

lol hes the radio now.

Wanzu X Frankie

Winner Wanzu

Very interesting comic! I really loved the play with scale Wanzu really felt like she towered over people. Idk I just love it when I can see scale in art.

Very nice entry here, like seeing the schism but going up against such a powerful opponent as a little otter leaves not so much room for doing much of anything. So its a hard pick.

Janitor X Super J

Winner Janny

A true tale of brotherhood, friendship and forgiveness.

I love the stranger style, good fight too!

Tredecima X Wietse

Winner Wietse

Again very interesting writing and art form lacks, Just getting into this poor boys head and breaking him.

Van knows what I think about this as he was sending me wips purely to torture me like he tortured Wietse.

Jests aside both contestants did a fantastic job I just think Wietse's had a much more complete story.

Admiral Pizza X Stuffed Crust Crusaders

Winner Admiral Pizza

I do love me some multi media colab stuff. I just think it looks really cool.

That was both funny and just really nicely done. Love it.

Berbie X The Rebellion

Winner Berbie

Trippy with amazing art, just so fucking good.

Great collab! Wish it was just a bit more serious and less heavy on the jokes in places but a great ending to the rebellion, ive never been prouder of being dragged randomly into something.

BONUS

Z X Hime

Winner Hime

Trippy with amazing art, just so fucking good.

VOTING TIME !!!

>Ocapon VS Soren and Centurion

What amazing entries. A game no less. And animatic. It's like Christmas.

The aspect of a game was really charming, however I felt that there is little time for me to get the different endings on your entry Ocapon. The bad ending made me snort however. Though this would be no problem, as most of my enjoyment stemmed from the gameplay itself. The difficulty didn't leave me bored, in fact left me wanting to try again! Though I wish you could skip the dialogue (The interaction was very cute though)! After multiple tries, it gets annoying if you want to replay it to get a better ending. A few grievances with the user experience specially when it comes to the hitbox too but yeah. Is cool!

Soren's entry. The sudden uno reverse left me shocked. The colored portions, specially the ending, with Ocapon after credits were very touching. Ocapon looks very cute too. I'm a sucker for bittersweet. Tough choice. Loved the narrative in Soren's entry but I felt extremely engaged with

Ocapon's seeing as it's very replayable. But because there are some things that could be tweaked on Ocapon's entry to make it stronger I felt like Soren and Centurion had a stronger entry narratively speaking...

But Iron giant ending...

Vote: Ocapon

>Morgan VS Evelin

Morgan... titties..!

Evelin... wait she can carry a machine gun??

Is this another eldrich being vs regular human?

GM strange fetishes: God vs human. Be not afraid...

What happened in the Morgan entry? Why is it unfinished ;_; AAAAA

Evelin's entry had a much better presentation, meaning I can see Morgan's titties in the full 4k... The panelling helped! Nice shading!

Vote: Evelin

---

>Godefroy VS Yuna

oooh noo teresa. ok yeah I get the joke. (I miss my wife, Shadow.)

Anyhow, Godefroy's entry was rough but it had its moments where i spat out laughing. Animating Yuna huh? I think a shot to the face is a lot easier to take. Great action and comedy from both unfortunately I prefered the latter oops.

I felt the teresa joke was kinda getting old anyways (my shit opinion).

Yuna. The audio mixing was all over the place. Crazy frog song was too loud to hear the dialogue properly. If your goal was to have viewersreplay the video and have them lose hearing... then nice job. Loud bass = funny. Cool fighting scene, I vote for the bionicle.

Vote: Yuna

---

>Davok VS Victory Man

Davok entry. Pg. 3. Panel 7. LICKKKK. Gruesome, and violent. Now that's tongue action bby!

Victory Man. With a name such as victory man you would expect to pull something more than an underwhelming entry.

It's no hard choice for me.

Vote: Davok

---

>Epona VS Gouda

What a twist, two pages from Epona. I should honestly commend you for this. In fact I will. Very good entry, nice linework and action panels. It's oddly fitting that she gets stripped before death. The shade drop at the end really shows the sass.

I would say it's an even match but even with the two pages, I had to give it for Gouda for the Smash Bros reference.

I can't believe it went full fucking circle. Not only that but I laughed more times with the murder of the gnomes and the Bratpack interactions. Fucking Wietse lmao. Dead pan jokes work so well for Gouda.

Despite most of the entry being left as sketches, there's a good sense of action paneling. There were at least 4 with line art. SO if my math is right 4>2.

Tripp: "I still call dibs on Captain Falcon."

Vote: Gouda

>Awesoman VS Lenard

What was I thinking having awesoman on my list bros... >_> holy shit

Also SOCK PUPPET AWESOMANNNN CUTE!

I turned off all the lights for Lenard's entry and now I have a migraine. He's pure evil I tell you >:(

Great animation from both.

Feeling kinda bad to be so nitpicky but I have to be cause both are cool bros.

I felt awesoman's had more technique, utilizing more fundamentals and drawing more expression with the characters. But this isn't to say Lenard's entry was poor, no I'm genuinely impressed with the work made in a little over a month! The actions are thrilling and the tone is entertaining having poor Awesoman being set up for a dark demise. Clever bat you.

Now some nitpicks

What pains me the most about Lenard's entry is that the dialogue is hard to hear! I'm not sure but it might be the accent Maybe I damaged my ears but I had a lot of trouble hearing the beginning. I didn't have much trouble with hearing awesoman's entry though it could use a tweak in audio mixing. Implementing some sfx would be nice too!

Lenard's entry had it and it added so much to each scene. Its crazy how much of a difference sfx can take you. Those little bat-spider robots made me chuckle. Were the sfx made by your own voice? lol

One thing I noticed, was the paced difference between each entry. The long runtime for Awesoman's set up was 2 minutes compared to Lenard's which was ~45 seconds. Personally I prefered Lenard's setup. It gave him the

opportunity to fully take advantage of an extended fight PLUS the inclusion of HAUNT is always fun. Though I felt like the second half of the scene dragged ever so slightly. Some scenes I feel could use some timing tweaks. The ending however was a unique surprise to me. Live action huh? So charming.

I felt like awesoman wanted to take the narrative further... The build up shows this. I think the fighting being short

grew on me the more as I rewatched some scenes. There's a lot of funny banter and the small actions like Lenard drinking blood, or even the gnome massacre is super hilarious upon rewatch.

A battle between good and evil... close call... sorry Bat Boy

Vote: Awesoman

>Feddie VS Cyrus

You know this is one of those votes where I felt like Cyrus could have won had he focused on the narrative. The art was there, great sense of colors and the action panels were great, just a shame that it was lacking any substance. Feddie delivered a really entertaining entry making me laugh at the absurdity of the battle. Feddie made... hooters Dylan. That was more memorable to me. Sorry, but Feddie gets the vote for the hilarity.

Vote: Feddie

---

>Dr. Stitch VS Sack

I'm sorry Stitch, though the art was nice and there was a lot of narrative setup to her form, I also liked seeing HAUNT interactions, I couldn't stop laughing at Sack's animated entry with her brain being blown out. Due to my liking of 2000s esque flash animation it's a challenging entry to beat with just a comic. Sack just has that rizz.

Tripp: "Looks like Sack might sweep the floor with this one"

Vote: Sack

---

>Tripp VS Dylan

Tripples. Tripples. Tripples.

Reflecting on my final entry: There were a lot of things I tried to juggle to finish this. Though rough in many parts, I realized it's a reflection of my thoughts during a time where I felt the loneliest. Initially, my idea to kill Tripp while still under the hallucination were still very prevalent. In a way, Tripp does go back home, dying in his own mindscape believing this lie. Though, a certain mono wouldn't let that happen. Whichever way someone reads it, whether mines was first or second. Up for interpretation, I have no qualms about it.

With that being said, Micro, ever since we discussed about the concept in vc I knew this was it, el cinema. I was sold at the idea, provided it feels very in character for Dylan to save others. From concept to the execution, I adore how you took my character in this direction. Panelling and action scenes are strong, coupled with a seductiveness between both characters. We get two shirtless guys fist fighting, what's not to love? The spread pages are such eyecandy. I have grown a taste for white chocolate. There's lots of action and drama with a great sense of build up all the way to its conclusion with the bittersweetness still hanging in the air. I FUCKING ADOREEEEEEE ITTT. OMG HIM IN SHIRTLESS AND FLOATING AND AUGHHHHHHHHH

I choose you simisear. ALL MY 5 STARS BELONG TO YOUUUUUUUU <3

Harrybros what happened? ;_;

Though won by default, Mishka's entry is really nice. I also caught our fight between me and Micro. Did you know about the shirtless fight???

Epic Mishka battles of history...

>Ferfou VS Kalinka

Two fencers, interesting. There's a lot of personality in Ferfrou shown through their entry. Lovely art as always. Their banter between Kalinka is so fun. A shame that some of the dialogue is impossible to read. Next time thicken the outline for the text.

I like how in both entries, they are kind sports to each other after the fight ends. Kalinka's entry had a very cute moment with Cyrus. It's such a tiny thing but it made me lean more with Kalinka's entry for the charming HAUNT interaction. Despite Ferfrou putting up a good fight with the lovely art style my vote goes for the vampire.

Vote: Kalinka

>Magai VS Violet and Rosie

A strange matchup but oddly fitting once reading them. Violet and Rosie's entry while having hallucinative and colorful visuals felt like it was lacking in much story. I appreciated the little character cameos, but they didn't really add much in terms of engagement. I think for both entries there's some major mischaracterization too.

I didn't expect Violet to say Semon loaf. And I believe Magai doesn't talk at all. Concept of Magai having a family within CRAB is ridiculous and yet there's a sadness in this entry I can't quite explain. Contemplative entry, coupled with a tender moment of the flower sisters sharing a hug. It's nice.

Vote: Magai

>Boxing Wizard (No Show) VS Rhea And Monkshood (Winner-Late Delivery)

Rhea And Monkshood (Winner-Late Delivery)

My favorite quote from Rhea's entry, "Now you've done it... you've awakened the wolf."

iu_1287900_8461193.jpg

Literally.

The action is quite good on this entry. Linework is nice. Even the brush strokes on the explosion came off pretty well. I can feel the passionate aggression. The dialogue being very tongue-in-cheek is immature but there's charm in that. Though I wish it didn't leave on a cliffhanger. All this time, I still can't take the cat seriously. Wojjie already fucked up my perception of Monkshood with that chart. It's over. Also, I appreciate the Tripp cameo! I was laughing like he was at the wolf transformation bit.

>Sentimia VS R.Ant

Not elaborating. Sorry.

Vote: R.Ant

---

>Sanguine VS Moses

I appreciate the amount of detail on Moses's entry. The backgrounds are quite nice to look at. The content itself is questionable at best, but it's got

the lord's spirit. Though I feel like it dawdles too much of it's set up on unrelated interactions. The Yugio reference would have gotten me if I was a bigger Yugio fan. There's references here that simply don't work on me.

Sanguine's entry having a fake Moses is oddly fitting given how perverse this CRAB moses is. I think

it was about time anyways. Moses's entry converted me to atheism. While Sanguine made me question the validity of this current Moses.

Vote: Sanguine

---

>Hime VS Sanctus

A close call but I say because of Sanctus's entry with Kome randomly dying at the end, my mind as been changed. The explanation:

Though Sanctus's entry had quite a big advantage, be it the creative usage of the animated panels, the fighting sequences, but man that last bit. It felt out of character for Kome. Again super nitpicky, Sanctus take aim for my head!! When it came to comedy I'm a bit torn because both are pretty good, just that... Hime stating she won't aim for her calves made me laugh out loud. I loved the animated bits in Sactus's entry however. Specially the one where the giant ball of (fire?) goes flying past Hime and it explodes, great timing on that. There's a sense of yuri coming from Hime's entries, no I'm not delusional, this carries intent. I sense it. Hime being so cute just does things to me...

Yuri flavored punches.

Vote: Hime

>Celia VS Z

Wonderful. Two cakes. Stellar entries. From beginning to end I felt completely engaged with their fights.

Celia: From Celia's sassy flaunt of her weapon to her interactions with Z. I must commend the organic dialogue. There's no lack in the art department either. Though simple in panelling it's a pleasure to read.

Z: Z carrying a lot of baggage haha. The moments in between flashbacks and the actual fight are hella engaging. It's an effective way to show Z's preparation.  Awesome dynamic action and panels.  A hard choice, given Z's eyecandy style, but I felt like for Celia's entry the dialogue between her and Z  completely charmed me. Though Z did have interactions between each character, I was laughing more on Celia's entry and I kind of leaned on that more.

Vote: Celia

---

>Vera VS Cheras

Reading Vera's entry leans to a psychological trip into what it means to be alive. As deep as it tried to be I prefered the way Cheras handled her opponent. The narrative was far more engaging and

there's quite a lot of good effort put into the actual fight between the two. Nice work from both just that the undead child had a better execution.

Vote: Cheras

---

>Cassidy VS Kome

I love the inclusion of Dylan's power carry over from R2!!! I know micro is definitely very happy :) What amazing entries from the both of you. Great action, drama, and oddly funny at times, both entries illicited a lot of emotional responces from me. There's quite a bit of comments.

Cassidy's entry: Cassidy anon, how did you draw Kome to look even more badass? Holy crap, I loved her new design before but that first page ignited something... The humor coupled with the dire circumstance, and the cute design of Cassidy, makes for an entertaining juxtaposition. The power designs on Cassidy's godlike are so awesome!

The lion part where they bit into Kome was so cinema. AAAA man I want some of those powers micro Let me powerfag too O-o Great panels, the action has so much life into the bits where they jump around and start kicking each others asses. Sometimes it's a bit hard to know which dialogue to read first but most of it is pretty fine! The end where Cassidy hangs from getting knocked out of the ring made me snort, clever tactic! What an entertaining entry.

Kome's entry.

The nazi bit from Kome always fucking gets me. It is such a Wietse statement, but holy crap if it isn't true. Kome has a complete personality shift, instead of a brat she's THE BRAT. I actually laughed out loud at the drawn Tripp cameo for just saying, "red flag". AND THE REFERENCE TO ROUND 1 NOOOO CASSIDY don't remind her!! Such a violent entry, though the violence is not without reason. It perfectly fits with Kome's character. Having poor Cassidy take the hit was hard to read at times! I love both, but as the 2nd in command as leader of the BRAT Pack, Kome-anon has to always hit me with the emotional bits that resonate with me.  The ending to Kome's entry is a great exploration between both characters' ambition towards their goals. Bittersweet is my life. That ending was OOOMFF MY HEART

;_; Crystal meth is life.

Vote: Kome

>Z VS Dizzy

Z with the fake, the pie throw. Comedic timing, I chuckled. Ahh Dizzy-anon: While the Z-energy bit was really funny, I felt like going up against Z was such a hard matchup. Love how clean your lines were and the battle albeit shorter than Z's provided some funny moments. I especially laughed at how he turned into a radio. Sorry but, I think the humor lend itself more with Z's entry.

>Wanzu VS Frankie

First off, awesome work from the both of you. I'm sure the complexity of the two characters lend itself to be a challenge to write. From just a personal taste, the build up on Wanzu's entry had a lot of momentum and it was more engaging seeing the various interactions between side characters. Though it did leave me a bit confused on some parts, specially why there were character interactions between Kome and Dylan. I may have missed on something there :v

During the fight, the strength of the narrative and thoughtful prose put into the writing lend itself to be slightly stronger than the former. I liked the extended Frankie reflection moment while inside their mind. It was a difficult choice with both entries nearly ending the same way. The GM KO was shocking and hilarious however Sahx lmao. Overall, both fun entries but I have to give it to the eldritch Godlike being for the psychological tone.

>Tredecima VS Wietse

What a coincidence that decapitation within bratpack happened twice huh? A grueling choice, being a Tredecima fan for 2 rounds now, no doubt she would destroy my mindscape in the third. Though both entries ending the same way with him getting mindfucked I felt like the dance resulting in a ring out is a nice touch, coupled alongside Wietse's flashbacks, it's extremely sweet. It did feel cheesy but I'm a sucker for cheesy dammit.

I found a lot of interest in Tredecima's narrative of Wietse having to answer to the consequence of abandoning his team. I really do like this narrative. Incredibly violent too. A great display of despair.

Presentation from both are stellar. Tredecima's entries always have a great sense of clever usage with their panelling.

Like tredecima, wietse's entry carries similar quality. Bonus kudos for Wietse's entry, the animations are a lovely addition that didn't lessen the impact of the work. Instead of distracting the reader it heightened the emotional parts.

Ah, the difference I feel a bit torn on is the setup to the fight... narratively I enjoyed the despair more on Tredecima's side but with despair it's even stronger if it's paired up with hope. Close call. BUT THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP PREVAILS.

Holy shit Berbie you annihilated them. I kid you not I wasn't giving a fuck about this Berbie character when I first heard of him. I read the rest of the entries, and I thought yeah the violence against him is deserved! The rebels entry served as a great action/violent treat. Great sense of scale in setting up the rebellion though RIP the google link LMAO BRUH. Fucking corn's animatic with the CRAB baby. THE CRAB BABY I LOST MY SHIT LMAO. Corn in my heart you win for the comedy, I'm legit tearing up at how damn much I laughed. Final part where Berbie turned into a cancerous carcinogen was unexpected and Wietse jumping down, FUCKING HOLD ME BACK FUCKER. HAHA. Man, both entries had their fun. I hope everyone in the freakers know you all did a fantastic job. Now to say this is an even match... I'm so sorry but when I went to read Berbie's I was left with a deep emotional embarrassment. I absolutely loved how simply merciful he is. Not only did he make the freakers look in a better light but he also made himself more human than he is portrayed. Poetic cinema. I love KFC.

MORGAN vs EVELIN

MORGAN'S story should have focused more on puting the words and story in, cause it looked like there was something going on, but I didn't know what was really happening while EVELIN'S story was a simple fight that was only marred by the fact that I'm not too familiar with the character abilities.

WINNER: EVELIN

GODEFROY vs YUNA

YUNA was BADASS, it was just filled with HYPE and balls to the wall fun while GODERFROY'S had the same fun, it can't compete with how much audio gives to an animation.

WINNER: YUNA

DAVOK vs VICTORY MAN

What always drew me to VICTORY MAN'S entries were the unhinged yet theatric dialogue VM had, reminding me of Jack Kirby comics that I also loved. The problem is that there's only one page of dialogue here (which I loved) and the rest of it just isn't that interesting to me. DAVOK'S on the other hand managed to capture more of that feeling with VM, and gave more of a personality driven story that I prefer.

WINNER: DAVOK

EPONA vs GOUDA

GOUDA'S story just had more to it in both art and writing. There's not much to say about either entries.

WINNER: GOUDA

AWESOMAN vs LENARD

Both were awesome and had me hooked from the start to end.

AWESOMAN was fittingly AWESOME while LENARD'S was BADASS and while the inspirational and very superhero feeling of AWESOMAN'S was great, the variety and theatricality of LENARD'S ultimately is what clinches it for me.

WINNER: LENARD

FEDDIE vs CYRUS

CYRUS' Mignola artstyle is really what clutches this battle for me, his comic wins with just the atmosphere and tone it presents.

WINNER: CYRUS

DR.STITCH vs SACK

Both end anti climactically, and while SACK'S entry looking like an old NG animation really got me, STITCH'S entry just had more happen in it.

WINNER: DR.STITCH

TRIPP vs DYLAN

TRIPP'S story suffers from having both too much work put into it and not enough, with the long monologues and ideas of things that overall led to it relying on it's feels over it's readability. The ending, while bittersweet, didn't have me feeling for it as much as I think it wanted me to, and required a little more work on endearing me to TRIPP so I would feel more for his mental breakdown.

DYLAN'S while shorter had more of a focused and succinct story that while making me feel for it less than TRIPP'S, had me understand what was happening better.

WINNER: DYLAN

FERFOU vs KALINKA

FERFOU has bits to it where it's barely legible and hurts the eyes when the dialogue goes white over a dotted BG, it should have had a slightly darker than white BG to allow the contrsat between it and the words to be more pronounced and less hurting of the eyes.

Even without that, KALINKA'S entry had more to it in both characterization and action to put it over for me.

WINNER: KALINKA

MAGAI vs ROSIE AND VIOLET

While RnV's entry gets multiple details of the character of MAGAI wrong (One of which is the fact that he doesn't speak), my entry is only half finished so this vote has to go to RnV

WINNER: ROSIE AND VIOLET

SENTIMIA vs R.ANT

The SENTIMIA entry was hard to read, I didn't understand what was happening most of the time due to either messy pacing, word bubbling, or other.

The R.ANT entry on the other hand, was much easier to read, with a more simpler idea going on.

WINNER: R.ANT

SANGUINE vs MOSES

SANGUINE was funny and endeared me to it's characters while MOSES' story kinda had nothing to do with the subject at hand and gave all but 2 of it's pages to other stuff that had no real connection to what was happening so this vote goes to SANGUINE

WINNER: SANGUINE

HIME vs SANCTUS

HIME'S entry had great dialogue and characterization, while SANCTUS' had the better action. The main deciding factor was the climax, which SANCTUS should have ended at least 2 pages before it did. But HIME'S ending was sort of anti climactic for me.

WINNER: SANCTUS

CELIA vs Z

CELIA'S entry's strength was how charming it's characters and story were, while Z's strength was how atmospheric the art and pacing were.

Overall, I liked Z's entry more.

WINNER: Z

VERAS vs CHERAS

I'm not entirely sure what happened in either entry, VERAS' dotted BGs hurt my eyes while CHERAS' entry had me confused at the climax due to not really understanding what the dimensions and placements of characters were, it felt as though it needed one more page zoomed out to show where they were to fully understand what was happening. But it was more understandable than VERAS'

WINNER: CHERAS

CASSIDY vs KOME

It's a tough choice. CASSIDY's entry looks like an official Shonen manga, but like Shonen manga, it felt less a big story, and more just another chapter in a manga I haven't read. While KOME's entry had more of a feeling of climax and finality to it that hit me harder by the end.

WINNER: KOME

Z vs DIZZY

Z's entry took advantage of it's format to create a truly beautifully creative duel that contrasts heavily with the simplicity of DIZZY's entry, though between the 2, Z's had the better fight.

WINNER: Z

WANZU vs FRANKIE

FRANKIE's entry ended pretty anti climactically with no real closure by the end, I'm not even entirely sure who won, though between the two endings, I prefer the more bittersweet ending of WANZU's

WINNER: WANZU

JANITOR vs SUPER J

SUPER J was very crazy, and reminds me of cartoons like Superjail and it's like, though it doesn't really have a winner or end to it unlike JANITOR's, who's entry was filled with chuckles and things that made me smile.

WINNER: JANITOR

TREDECIMA vs WIETSE

TRED much words

WINNER: WIETSE

OCAPON vs SOREN AND CENTURION

If this was a competition of length, OCAPON would win by a landslide, my ability to properly play the game is massively hampered by the time limit put on me, so unfortunately I must judge this entry incompletely.

While the gameplay is addicting and properly ass hard, though because of this, I felt it was unfair to vote for one without a deciding factor.

And while OCAPON's game had me going for an hour without quitting, I eventually got tired with it. While SOREN's entry was 16 minutes long, and I didn't even notice the time pass.

WINNER: SOREN

ADMIRAL PIZZA va STUFFED CRUST CRUSADERS (SCC)

Both brought more than I could have ever expected, it was an experience for which I am grateful to have read and watched- but ultimately there can only be one winner and while this is one of the hardest decisions I've had to make so far in this whole CRAB. The winner is... ADMIRAL PIZZA.

WINNER: ADMIRAL PIZZA

BERBIE vs THE REBELLION

My lord, BERBIE's was... spectacular, beyond anything else, and that ending made me giggle like a schoolgirl.

THough THE REBELLION's wasn't nothig either, with MR. OVERKILL's entry looking cool whereas BERBIE's looked badass, they managed to have more of a variety in their entry compared to BERBIE who did one thing really really well.

Too well, it knocked everything else out of the park, and so while I wish the best for THE REBELLION, I have to vote for BERBIE

WINNER: BERBIE

Z vs Hime

Z's entry was beautiful as usual, but tends to tire me through how similar it is to Z's other entries, while HIME is a simple comic and game that maybe should have had more to it.

WINNER: Z

Z vs Kome

Z is very consistent with quality but this fight showcases how much audio can add to any creation, the hype music accompanying KOME and the fact they added so much more of the overall histories of both characters is what clinches the deal for me.

WINNER: KOME

After reading the feedback here I completely cut those two pages from my entry. It's a bit late but I'd rather not tamper with the votes. I do appreciate all the kind words said.

Z vs Kome

Morgan vs Evelin

I think this one pretty much goes to Evelin, no contest. Sorry, but the unfinished entry for Morgan already put me out. Plus, the minigun was also pretty cool.

Godefroy  vs Yuna

Gotta give this one to Yuna. The animation was great, and the FNF bit was hilarious. Just generally well done all around!

Davok vs Victory Man

Davok, for sure. I love how unsettling Victory Man is, but I think I like watching him get his ass beat even more? Nothing against him, of course.

Epona vs Gouda

I kind love Gouda as a character, but I think I have to go with Epona on this one. Again, I really wish both entries were finished, but I also understand stuff happens.

Awesomeman vs Lenard

This one was super hard to choose, but I'm kind of a sucker for mixed media animations, and the whole hand puppet bit for Lenard's entry is just *chef's kiss*. Lenard wins this one.

Feddie vs Cyrus

I'll admit, I have some bias on this one. Gotta go with Feddie. Kink artist solidarity and all that. Plus, I kinda felt like Cyrus' entry was just a little too anti-climatic.

Dr. Stitch vs Sack

Both of these were also really great. I feel like Sack's entry just had to much meme power to be denied though, so I gotta go with Sack.

Tripp  vs Dylan

Both of these were incredible! Just for the emotional arc though, I think Tripp takes this one.

Harry (no show) vs Mishka (Mishka Wins!)

Ferfou vs Kalinka

The camaraderie between these two was really cool! I think ultimately enjoyed the way things played out in Kalinka's entry just a little bit more though, so I'm giving this one to Kalinka.

Magai  vs Violet and Rosie

I kinda feel bad about this one, but I think this goes to Magai by default. Sorry, but I actually couldn't physically read Violet Rosie. That text hurt my eyes way too much.

Sae Hyeon (No Show) vs Ludwig (No Show)

Sentimia  vs R.Ant

This one was kinda tough. I enjoy the narrative of Sentimia more, and will probably give it to sentimia. That said, I do still like some of the art for R.ant, and I especially enjoyed the scene of Berbie getting squashed.

Sanguine vs Moses

Both got pretty goofy pretty quick. And while I did enjoy both, I think Moses takes this one. I just can't with the yugioh duel XD

Hime vs Sanctus

Both of these were really awesome! I think I like Sanctus' entry just a little bit more though. Having a loveable goof lose despite best efforts can be really compelling, and I think it's done just right with Sanctus.

Celia vs Z

This was such an incredibly tough matchup! The art and writing on both of these were incredible! I know I just talked about the virtue of loss despite best efforts, but I don't think I have the heart to say no to Celia, so I gotta give it to her. It was just too good!

Vera vs Cheras

I think Vera's entry takes the cake on this one. Both the writing and art direction are just really great.

Cassidy vs Kome

Another toughie! Cassidy was very clever in her entry, but I ultimately found the introspective sequence in Kome's entry very touching. Gotta give this one to Kome.

Z vs Dizzy

Oh, good lord! These two just don't miss! While I do love the idea of Z's shadow clone getting turned into a radio, I just can't ignore the creativity in Z's table-turning. This one goes to Z!

Wanzu vs Frankie

I think I gotta give this one to Wanzu. I'm glad that Frankie at least comes out sort of okay in both, but the tension between some of the deities present, like Wanzu, and the GM is just too tasty to pass up!

B. WIzard (No show) vs Rhea and Monkshood (Winner-Late Delivery)

Janitor vs Super J

I'm kinda shit at navigating 4chan, but I eventually found Super J's entry. Gotta say, it slaps to Hell and back. Super J, no contest.

Tredecima  vs Wietse

I love a good rebel story, but I dunno if my love for existential horror can allow me to vote for Wietse on this one. Gotta go for Tredecima!

Ocapon  vs Soren and Centurion

Yeah, I'm dogshit at bullet hells. Sorry! Soren and Centurion's entry was incredible! Gotta go with that one!

Admiral Pizza vs Stuffed Crust Crusaders

These were hilarious! Ultimately, I gotta go with the Admiral though, both for somewhat unique battle scenario, and bonus points again for mixed media.

Berbie 1 2 3 4 5 vs The Rebellion 1 2 3

Yeah, gotta hand this one to Berbie. That shit's just peak, man.

Bonus:

Z vs Hime 1 2

Gotta give this one to Hime. Sorry Z, I laughed way too hard at you getting turned into a ragdoll

Z vs Kome

I'mma give this one to Z. Very creative as always. Art is just stellar

Once again, and for the last time under the role of GM, I wanted to thank from the bottom of my heart all those who participated and/or contributed to make this happen. I like to think, and I think most of you will agree, that this was the best version to date. With that said, I retire from the Gamemaster role, hang up my magic hat and wish the Council the best of luck from now on...because crabs, they never read...and they never end.

From now on we'll be celebrating, sharing feedback and thoughts, (shit)posting and talking about anything related to /crab/ and the future of /crab/.

Open to everyone.

Ask your questions and suggestions and they -might- be answered.

OCs from multiple universes will be kidnapped by me, the Gamemaster @gamemasterchan, put into teams and take part in many extreme challenges to obtain a single Wish, whatever it may be!

For the 3rd edition, I've sought to expand its scope from beyond the current pool of potential crabs acquired. Therefore, I've decided that Newgrounds could be a good place for /CRAB/ to grow and prosper. Is your character up to it?

Q&A

How to join the event (18+ only)?

Share a comic, illustration, puppet show, animation, video game, music album or whatever your heart desires of your original character. Show them introducing themselves, fighting, being kidnapped by the GM or whatever you deem appropriate. The entry can be as small as a single image or as big as a 50 page epic. The most common choice is comic but many people have done different things the entire tournament.

Third Tournament?

Two years ago we organized on /co/ (4chan) the most successful OC Tournament with guests from various boards (20+) and then we improved the formula the following year with 48 OCs for /crab/2.

When does it start? How long would it take?

Mid July. 3 rounds in about 11 weeks.

Do I need to know what happened in the previous parts?

Not really, but if you’re interested, you can dig deeper in our discord or archive.

Discord?

Access for contestants only.

Are they individual or group duels?

Depending on the number, teams of 4, 5 or even 6 characters would be formed. Last year we had 8 teams of 6 characters.

What types of duels?

Thematically, only one of the three planned stages is Combat, the other two can be anything. The First year it was Dance and Cooking. Then Sports and Leisure in the Second.

How’s a winner declared?

Individual points will be added to the team total, defined by voting. There is no elimination so you have a chance to come back. The team with the most points at the end takes all.

How does communication work?

Mainly on Discord, for the simple reason that it's not efficient to keep communication only in the threads. However it is possible to avoid Discord at your own risk, one of the contestants last year did it.

Who runs everything?

Me, the Gamemaster, a multidimensional wizard of thousands of years of virginity and power.

Should you choose to enter your precious character, a dear future crab, be warned that many great and terrible things await them in my Bucket. Though there is much to lose in this tournament, there is much to gain. Do they seek wealth? Power? Some other base desire, perhaps. Doesn’t matter what their wish may be, it will be granted should they win. Whatever walk of life they come from, I’m looking for crabs who won’t shirk from attaining their goal. One not just with an exoskeleton, mind you, but those that stand vertebrate. One whose true nature endures against the perils that await them. What will your crab do to gain their fondest dream? No matter what path you choose, always remember that you cannot always be a hero, but one can always be a crab.

iu_1296614_9478666.png

So uhh… here’s my thoughts about everything.

Before Crab

Ive always wanted to join a tournament because of unknown person and zeurel. Right when I was reached out I was thrilled! First tournament! What an excitement. It’s also my chance to improve on my comic skills since I want to make my own comic series later in life with my ocs.

Round 1

When I say I was locked in, I was LOCKED IN. School hasnt start and it gave me plenty of time. Sure I have to rewrite some things but I was happy it turned out good. It was an entry I had fun drawing.

Round 2

Round 2 was short n sweet tbh. I wanted to collab because I thought it would be fun and Dorothy has been awesome. Shes a wonderful artist and very easy to talk to. Ofc with the page limit we had to plan it out and it turned out a very decent entry. Though the limit was nice since I finally got to breaks and rest.

Round 3

In all honesty, and Im not gonna sugarcoat it, it was the most stressful round. A bunch of planning, concepting and rewrites. School just started and my mental health got bad, it was already a stressing time. I won’t lie when I say this but when Red-ITA said hes gonna animate his entry I just know it’s gonna be over for me. Because I’ve seen a pattern that animations gets favored more over comics when going against each other. So I had a small heart attack. But I kept making a comic and I was LOCKED IN. I would stay up late and even on school nights to get some pages done. Until the day came and when the results came, I felt embarrassed. I felt like what I did was in vain. But it is what it is but I am happy my team made it on the top 3. So we’re technically winners in a way.

The team HAUNT itself.

Amazing team. (Fuck Jupiter tho) I couldn’t ask for a better team. Theyre very talented people and they have very cool ideas. However, I am gonna say my big thanks to Rockrolito. He’s been a huge help to me and i appreciated that so much. Even when I was stressed abt my entry, he helped. He’s been a great and dedicated leader.

Overall

Crab has been fun. Met new people and got to rekindle old friendships with familiar faces. Even tho ive lost, it just pushes me more hard to do better next time and practice more on my craft for comics. It’s been a very fun event and im sure I’ll be joining crab4

(Side note: I am not forgetting about that brain fucking comic. It was the most outrageous and horrendous thing ive even seen and it genuinely made me cry and scream.)
