I hope so, but maybe it's better this way. I think one reason of what made it "die out" was the growing absence of chainmail (and social media becoming less social). They're really fun to read despite most of them being poorly written.

I miss when creepypastas were everywhere on the internet. I used to spend hours listening to creepypasta readings and I miss when the internet was more horror focused, even if most of those stories were terrible.
Those Analog Horror doesn't count as creepypastas?
I think Creepypastas come in small waves, people show interest in a couple of creepypastas for a year or two, then a couple or so years go by and another couple of creepypastas suddenly gain discussion.
In the early 2020's we had the appearance of Siren Head and Cartoon Cat, now we have Sonic.EXE and RED making a return to discussions.
So I recon in a couple of years we'll be discussing two other creepypastas, whether they're old or new.

let's just say certain mechanical quirks should've stayed in creepypasta, but then were made mainstream by glorified creepypastas that just so happened to have loads and loads of redeeming traits and leave it at that.

i have no clue what you said (thanks to my translator for explaining). i still stand by the fact that creepypastas are... negative media.
As long as nostalgia keeps existing, I believe it will never disappear, no matter how stupid or embarassing it was. Some of us, including me, were pretty young when slender man blew up and were unironically terrified by it.
Now that it’s been long enough for every studio to make their own hilariously bad adaptation that makes the original source material look like a masterpiece in comparison, I'd say there now making their biggest return ever.
