Been busy lately with offline things. Honestly I've been long overdue for a break haha. Has anyone got travelling on vacation on their mind lately? I've got Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Mauritius, Greece, and more on my list!

So I am currently taking a drawing for animation class and I’m doing kinda good so far. There is a fair bit I haven’t known until taking the class.

Also I’m still playing on the piano and composing when my mood calls for it.

I hope you are all doing great.

It can't hurt you if you don't believe in it. As far as I'm concerned, art block doesn't exist. You're having ideas just fine, they're just not ideas you think you can execute well. So do something that trains your brain and doesn't require creativity: find references related to the ideas you're having, and draw them from observation. The more studies you do, the easier it'll be to attempt your more ambitious ideas.

A lot of people will say to take a break and do something else, which will make the frustration go away, temporarily, but you don't solve a drawing problem with not drawing.

When you get art block i recommend eating the stew that makes you blind for a day.

The visions will help fuel your creativity and the stew will help fuel your body and mind.

I like how they nonchalantly slip "poisons" in between "yams" and "various meats."

I made new buttons not too long ago! These two feature Pink the Fink.

I didn’t show these here. These 3-inch buttons were made prior to the Pink the Fink buttons.

I don't think I'll ever truly like raster art. Not saying art in general, no, just doing raster artwork in krita/mypaint/GIMP/whatever. Each of them have their differences as well as little things that annoy me that program A might have, but program B doesn't. And program B might have an annoyance or flaw that A doesn't have. It's just too much of a headache.

I'm not saying digital art bad, no, I'm only saying that I get a headache from trying to get comfortable with a program and want to just do traditional for a while.

You have a greater chance in life of experiencing the lazarus phenomenon (Being declared dead and then living again a short brief period later) than making some earth shattering masterpiece of a work.

Art stuff or something like that.

Its been nice to kick around a forum again after running the social media rat race for so long.

I'm still running that race, but its nice to touch grass here on an ol' BBS forum every so often. Walking amongst the people. Talking to the rabble

Quick question, is there a good place around here where I can ask for any pixel artists to work together with? I'm not finding anything that clearly states it's okay to do so. If it's not allowed here, consider this question unasked.

A little late on responding to this, but I wrote this "Guide to overcoming art block" a while ago, it might need some updating, but it might help you out.

Depending on the source of your art block it could be a number of issues, most often I find that art block is a result of drawing ability not keeping up with ability to analyze art. You understand something isn't working, but your skill and ability hasn't gotten to the point where you're able to execute on correcting it. The only way out is to learn and improve. Whether this comes through targeted studies, or more passive continued drawing and slower observation building is up to you.

This isn't necessarily your issue, but the first step is understanding yourself and figuring out what is impeding your ability to draw and solving that issue. If you're easily distracted - remove distractions; if you can't think of anything to draw - figure out what to draw and draw it; if you don't know how to draw something - learn to draw it.

Good luck with it and try to have fun

I think this is indeed a good idea

You can make a thread in the collaboration forum if you're looking to collaborate with pixel artists. You can individually look around the forum for active users who make pixel art if you specifically want to work with them.

Depending on what you're looking for you're more than likely going to have to offer up some money.

I would recommend you get some smaller personal projects done to show you can get stuff done on your own to attract potential collaborators.

I've recently made an updated piece of mine. Cleaning some lines, adding some color, etc. specifically:

But I wonder what y'all think the best course of action would be to update it. New post? Just replacing the file on the old one?

Updated version is this to give a better idea of how much updating I did:

Considering it's been like two years and some decently significant changes have been made I would say it's fine to upload the new version on its own.

It fucking SICKENS me how badly you people sleep on probably one the most well known "NG characters".

I don't see any fan art, features in banner art, or hell even discussion of this widely known beloved character.

Of course the character is the one and only

Frank "Freaky" Freakman/Gooseman

Like he is one of my personal favorites

His character design is solid and his whole look just screams charisma!

Justice's cross album is perfect

Every single song on it is amazing and the whole album just flows perfectly from song to song

Even the most different sounding songs on their don't feel even the slightest out of place

Probably one of my favorite albums
