For the record, when I opened up for the furry community, I found more easy going and acceptive friends, than in any other group, fandom, club etc. You know, people with a lot of passion for comics and animation and appreciation of creating entertainment over the course of many different eras. Whether it's SFW or NSFW, I could just chime in and enjoy the furry artists' fun quirky content, with that special emotional touch only anthropomorphic animal characters can really awaken. That's just my personal experience. And maybe I just got lucky enough not to come across any super toxic folks. But the whole idiotic stigma against furries is vastly fucking exaggerated, which leads to ad hominem attacks and amplification of hatred. Those who buy the furry hate are very narrow minded from what I can tell. A bit of snobbery and gatekeeping is invovled too. They don't realize the furry community, despite its common trait of "liking anthropomorphic animal characters" is really really diverse. At first I thought I didn't quite fit in, cause I was focusing on the side of the community/fandom that wasn't for me. But then I dug deeper, and found some artists who not only did very nice drawings, but also were very fun to talk to.
Furaffinity is a great platform actually, because of its razorsharp search engine, and anti-AI rules. They allow porn art, yeah, but it can be filtered out, just like on NG. Plus, with that advanced search engine you can exclude/include any keyword you want to find hidden gems that suit your tastes best.
