What really constitutes as "sameface" or "samebody" or whatever else? The way I'm seeing it, and I should be seeing this differently, is that if two characters have as much as a single trait in common, it's by definite sameface/samebody/same exact character. How do you fix this mentality and know for sure when something is being repeated?

You have a greater chance in life of experiencing the lazarus phenomenon (Being declared dead and then living again a short brief period later) than making some earth shattering masterpiece of a work.

Art stuff or something like that.

thank goodness you provided photographic evidence, I would never have believed such an outlandish claim otherwise.

You really just gotta sit down and create some design rules for your recurring characters. Eye, nose and mouth shapes can vary significantly without breaking a single unifying style, so if you're just consistent giving one character stuff like bigger tear ducts, flatter lips, a more visible nose bridge, etc. that other characters don't share, you'll avoid any justified accusations. Having those rules will make you more mindful of how many ways there are to draw any given feature, and you'll likely not accidentally give two characters the same face often.

A good test of this is to draw your characters side by side in the same outfit and give them all buzz cuts. Is there enough to differentiate between them when their accessories, hairstyles and costumes aren't a factor?

Can't say anything about Elephant ears, I'm not familiar with them unfortunately. I can definitely vouch for team Churro

For the record, when I opened up for the furry community, I found more easy going and acceptive friends, than in any other group, fandom, club etc. You know, people with a lot of passion for comics and animation and appreciation of creating entertainment over the course of many different eras. Whether it's SFW or NSFW, I could just chime in and enjoy the furry artists' fun quirky content, with that special emotional touch only anthropomorphic animal characters can really awaken. That's just my personal experience. And maybe I just got lucky enough not to come across any super toxic folks. But the whole idiotic stigma against furries is vastly fucking exaggerated, which leads to ad hominem attacks and amplification of hatred. Those who buy the furry hate are very narrow minded from what I can tell. A bit of snobbery and gatekeeping is invovled too. They don't realize the furry community, despite its common trait of "liking anthropomorphic animal characters" is really really diverse. At first I thought I didn't quite fit in, cause I was focusing on the side of the community/fandom that wasn't for me. But then I dug deeper, and found some artists who not only did very nice drawings, but also were very fun to talk to.

Furaffinity is a great platform actually, because of its razorsharp search engine, and anti-AI rules. They allow porn art, yeah, but it can be filtered out, just like on NG. Plus, with that advanced search engine you can exclude/include any keyword you want to find hidden gems that suit your tastes best.

I've had some negative experiences and have furry friends who've had negative experiences, but you are right that people's dislike can get unfair.

Well admitting is one step. The next would be to show some empathy. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Negative experiences happen everywhere. And there is no special exclusive rule for the furry community.

Just gonna step in here to this largely resolved issue and say @anonymous-frog stop being an edgelord troll and commenting inflammatory shit on people discussing a person who died. In addition to that, @Czyszy stop feeding the edgelord troll with responses like that, ignoring them is always more effective.

This is a warning for both of you to chill on this sort of behavior, next time it pops up bans will be on the table.

Thank you, please resume regular lounge activities.

Started playing Dredge for the first time last month, and I’m already at the halfway point. Been having a blast with it, I’m a total sucker for ocean horror and it has some cool Lovecraftin stuff thrown in as well. Plus the art is really nice! I really gotta make some fanart once I’m done with the main story. Maybe I’ll do a style study of the game’s art style once I have some free time as well.

I just had the Noclip documentary on in the background for this one, looked really neat the few times I glanced over, definitely something I'll be checking out in the future.

Art style looked very Monkey Island X Supergiant Games

Oh sweet! Didn’t know a documentary was made for this game that’s pretty awesome. I’ll definitely have to check it out in my free time.

And yeah I think you hit it right on the head with the art style, could just be my own bias speaking but I am getting a lil bit of some Mike mignola vibes as well. Mainly due to how funky the shapes are for some of the characters even if it doesn’t have the iconic way he does lines and shadows.

Im honestly excited to finish the game and do some studies on its art style. I really could use it as a small opportunity to experiment with my style a bit more.

Isn't there some program to make a game or some interactive widget of sorts for the games portal of a comic book/graphic novel? Rather than posting it page by page on the art portal, just make it one game instead?

I have thought about it multiple times, but I never do it. Simply because I have way too much shit on my art desk, and I rather not spend my time picking everything up.
